The resort is a little run down and needs a renovation but our room was clean and comfortable. The pool was fun for the kids. The downside was the resort wouldn’t let the kids ride the carousel or play mini golf because of the room we were in. So, all amenities are NOT included.
I will probably never rent a VRBO again. The room is in the basement of a resort. It is not an updated room by any means. In the future, I’ll pay the extra money to be a hotel guest, with even the lightest of housekeeping and amenities. Being able to request an upgrade, remove trash, replenish Kleenex or ask for a coffee maker, things like that. VRBO guests are second class, and are not given consideration. No one can ever shake the feeling of being intruded upon, when the owner entered with the private code, without notice on the second day of the stay. That’s 10 more days of checking for moved and/or missing items every time I returned. We had a false fire alarm that displaced all the Zermatt guests for two hours in the middle of the night. For nights after the fire alarm, I was kept up thinking it would happen again. The unbearable loudness of the alarm, coupled with the hours outside in the cold - I just wanted to leave the resort. I am sure other guests did too. I am sure they were refunded their stay, at least for that night. VRBOs don’t offer that sort of customer care. * Lousy shower water pressure * No coffee maker * Lousy view (loading dock) * Bright light right next to window * Thermostat: loud knocking every 15 minutes * Chlorine smell from indoor pool * No housekeeping for 11 days * Hole in wall covered by a painting * Hotel staff regard VRBO users as non-customers and do not make any effort to assist finding the room or amenities
Utah is a beautiful state and the area we stayed at was beaurtiful and relaxing. The room was great but the window latch was broke, called owner said he would look into, never heard from him. We felt safe even with the latch broken. Room could use some plates, pan to cook with, silverware, and cups for coffee. Overall a nice place and would stay again.
The check in was rough. Got bad instructions from the front desk. Was able to straighten out fairly easy with the property manager. From there was just perfect.
We enjoyed our stay at the Zermatt in Midway. The room was freshly cleaned, the bed was comfy, the room was a nice temperature, the pool and sauna were fun, and there were lots of eating options very close by. The TV in the room needs to be replaced, it has a large dark spot running across the whole thing about 2/3rds of the way up. We adjusted the brightness of the TV and it helped enough, but it was still very bothersome. Halfway through our stay the power went out momentarily and we were never able to get the TV to work properly again after that, even with messaging the host. The host was very busy, and he did his best to respond to us quickly. We didn't receive our check-in information until nearly 5pm, so we were just waiting awkwardly in the hotel lobby until he sent us the info. It turned out another couple were also booked for the same room, so he moved us to a different, identical room in the hotel. Once we were in our room we were happy to relax. We loved having a Starbucks with freshly baked items 2 minutes from our room. The selection of treats, gelato, sandwiches, etc was nice. We also loved that we were within 15 minutes of a great selection of restaurants and cafes, everything from classic American diner to Mexican to Japanese to upscale dining. There was a pub in the restaurant, but honestly it's just a bar, it's not a pub at all. They only offer drinks, no food. Along with the pool and jacuzzi, there's a spa service at the hotel, and a workout room. There wasn't a Do Not Disturb sign for our doorknob in the room, so we went to the front desk to request one. We were told that the hotel doesn't manage our room since it's a VRBO room, so they couldn't give us one. They also couldn't give us an extra blanket, etc for the same reason, so be aware of that when you book this room. Overall we had a great time even with the few minor inconveniences.
Me and my girlfriend stayed, found it easy access to Park City and the places in the area that we wanted to see. Our only down side was we could not get the temperature in the room below 80%, but we managed for a couple nights
