Everything about this place was perfect for a weekend of fun with family! It is a very quiet house, despite its age. Lots of space. The kitchen was perfect for meals and the host was very communicative. The place was SPOTLESS, and beautifully appointed. You are able to walk to the downtown area but if you have some that are not so keen on walking there’s also a shuttle that goes by that is free. We had a great time, thanks!!

The house is perfect for 6 people. Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom. You are provided 3 parking spots off the street which is a huge bonus! You can walk to town from the house too. I really appreciated the holiday decorations as well.

Property was great! Very clean and one of the most stocked in terms of cooking equipment I have seen. Super comfy beds and hot tub was great! Jean was very easy to communicate with and very professional. I have never had to sign an extra contract besides the registration through VRBO, also there are several cameras on property that were not listed on the VRBO listing but were mentioned in the additional contract they wanted us to sign after we had already paid all the fees. That part made me a tad uncomfortable, but maybe they have been burned in the past? It just seemed a bit much to me. Other than that, the property and stay was fabulous!

Beware This property needs a lot of attention. I don’t know why people keep giving it 5 stars. First there were flies everywhere which the property owner knows about since there were multiple fly swatters in the laundry closet. I must have killed about a dozen each day throughout the house. The whole property has been neglected. You can’t walk up the walkway or take out the trash because the bushes cover up the walkway. The hot tub needs a good scouring too. Lots of nasty foam and didn’t see them draining when we left. Finally, there was supposed to be air conditioning in each room but they messaged me the day before we arrived that they replaced the windows and didn’t have the new air conditioners for a four day weekend.

We enjoyed our stay in Manitou, and the location and cleanliness of the house. We loved the scenery around the property and liked being able to see all the visitors walking by below on their way to the Cog railway and Manitou incline. The hot tub was lovely and as 4 adults traveling together we loved that all 4 bedrooms have their own bathrooms! Highly unusual and very appreciated. Definitely recommend.

We rented the house as a family group of eight - parents with three adult children and their partners. The beds were comfortable and we really appreciated having our own en suites. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and even included an electric kettle, which as a tea drinker I was thrilled to see.The reason for giving four stars instead of five is because of the twin bedroom, which was uncomfortably hot even though we followed the host’s air conditioning guidelines. The couple who were in that bedroom couldn’t use it during the day and struggled to sleep at night. If you want to stay here as a group of six I’d say the house was perfect. The dining table and living room are also set up to comfortably seat six, not eight.Overall the house is in a great location for easily walking into town, to the cog railway and other activities. It is high enough above street level to be able to sit on the front porch and enjoy your morning cup of tea, watching the world go by without being on display yourself. We appreciated having our own parking spaces too.

Pros: Jean always responded within 30 minutes of my inquiries. The home was in a fantastic location and was incredibly clean, including the hot tub, which is top priority for me and my family. The beds were also extremely comfortable, which is a rarity at rentals.Cons: We couldn't give it a 5 star rating because of several little things that were disappointing, but not deal breakers: The grill was not clean, so we couldn't use it. The lawn hadn't been mowed in about two weeks. The hot tub was awesome, but there was not any lighting that we were aware of near the hot tub, which made locating flip.flops and placing the cover back on a bit challenging in the dark. We would have liked to use a full size skillet as well as a lid to the large cooking pot. And we did not use the garbage disposal as it made an odd noise the first time we turned it on. A little caution for those who may stay here with children: the upstairs attic room/door is off to the side of the stairs, so it could be tricky or dangerous for littles to navigate in the dark.Again, our overall stay was very positive and we would recommend the home to others.

Really appreciate Jean, an incredibly gracious and kind host, excellent communication and helped us greatly to have an overall excellent stay. The location was perfect for us (my wife and I, 14 year old and 11 year old) to explore the area. Easy walk to downtown Manitou Springs and great hiking spots, very short drive to many of our favorites including the cog railway, Garden of the Gods, and the North Pole. The house itself is really incredible, well maintained, lots of character, each bedroom is unique with its own bathroom, all the rooms were great. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the hot tub (and view from the hot tub) is a really nice bonus. Front porch is a great spot to hang out, you can hear the stream nearby and it is a quiet and scenic neighborhood. Highly recommend.

Our family had a great week-long stay. The location was excellent, allowing for leisurely walks downtown. The porch was perfect for reading and enjoying coffee. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to cook meals. The only thing I might recommend is bring a sleeping mask if you are sensitive to light b/c the window treatments won't block the sun when it comes up before 6 am each morning.

My two BFFs and I wanted to summit the Manitou Incline and this spot was the perfect place to land for the weekend. Each of us had a private suite and bathroom! The house is a short 5-ish min walk to the incline, a perfect warm up! The house itself is beautifully decorated, with soft clean new carpets and a fully stocked kitchen. Jean was super responsive to questions and needs! One thing to note: the house is on the side of the hill. There are 15 various sized rock steps to get to the front door entry. For those who have limited mobility, check Google maps for street view images to ensure you can access the residence. It is absolutely worth the climb, if you are able.

Overall a lovely historic property that was centrally located to many Manitou experiences. It is within walking distance to the Pikes Peak Cog Railway, Miramont Castle, and Manitou shopping. The property was well represented in the pictures provided. Our one issue was there were water pressure problems with three of the five bathrooms, but we discovered this at the end of our stay so did not communicate this with the owner. Jean provided helpful information and did send maintenance to shovel snow from the stairs to the home on our checkout day. Unfortunately, they arrived while we were in the process of packing up and we had to work around them.

We hosted our son’s family of five for the weekend. This home was more than up for the job with its four bedrooms & five baths. The full kitchen was great for breakfasts and pizzas. And of course the hot tub was a big hit. The home is convenient to Manitou (5 minute walk), as well as Garden of the Gods and Mueller State Park, two of our must-see places locally. This place is squeaky clean and full of charm. Grab it if it’s available for your group.
