Stayed Nov 27, 2024We rented this lovely house for our Thanksgiving get together with our son, daughter in law and grandchildren. The house was clean and beautiful. When we arrived the house was cold. We checked the thermostat and raised the temperature a bit. That's when we noticed heat pump was not functioning We contacted host and they sent a repair man who stayed a few minutes, left and never returned. The host ghosted us and would not respond to our texts or calls. VRBO could not or would not reach out either. We were not able to be in the house at all during the day and came back only to sleep under mounds of blankets. My family has used VRBO many times with no issues. The VRBO team offered us 40 in coupons (an insult considering how much the house cost for 4 nights) and said they could do nothing to make it right because they couldn't contact the host either. I do notice that the house is still for rent on the VRBO site. Beware renters. I don't think VRBO has our backs when it comes to serious issues with their rental property.
