Surprised the kids before back to school - place was awesome - kids had a blast walking in woods behind and hot tube was bonus. Plenty of things close by for family to do. Thank you
Overall very spacious and welcoming. We would stay again.
The property was clean and ready when we arrived. Access was easy, and contact via VRBO messages was replied to quickly by the owner. There are basic supplies, soaps, spices, extra pillows and blankets. The DVD collection was nice for the evenings to relax and laugh. Ive stayed at Hidden Valley several times and this property is on par with all of the others. The firewood was out of stock, but the owner responded quickly to my inquiry. The little wood burner can really only take a log or 2 at a time, and it burns for a while. You dont need much wood. We got by with a small store bought bundle for the evening. As mentioned in the listing, this stove will heat the entire main floor and upstairs. It gets warm! The basement is cold, and pretty muched remained that way during our stay, but we werent really down there. The jacuzzi is dated, never tried it out. The sauna was nice if thats your thing. It too is old, but works. If you're there to ski PA and have fun, its the perfect little spot for you and the family. But Im and old PA ski bum. I've grown to love this type of place/lifestyle and set my expectations for the time capsule that is Hidden Valley. Overall we would stay again, no question.
Very nice property. Perfect for family vacation.
The property exceeded expectations. Very clean and well appointed in terms of kitchenware and firewood. Would recommend for families and adults looking for a nice relaxing stay.
The property was fine enough for what we needed last minute. Enough linens, towels, etc. The jet tub in basement does not fill up with enough hot water. There were no wine glasses to be found. The property manager did call back immediately when we could not enter using the code we were given. No guest book when entering the property to inform about the many TV remote controls. The property was clean. Upstairs bathroom was very small, no toilet paper holder. Beds were comfortable. I would not classify this as a high-end stay.
We had a fantastic time, and the home was perfect for our family of 4 for 4 nights. A couple highlights: the kitchen was well stocked (I would recommend adding a corkscrew), and the location couldn’t have been better (only a few minutes to Hidden Valley ( would have been easily walkable without skis in warmer weather) which made getting the family to the slopes a much easier process). The temperature was easy to control and the home was nice and toasty, we didn’t even need to use the wood stove for heat. There was also a good selection of DVDs for both kids and adults. Internet speed was excellent. The owner was remarkably responsive and answered any questions almost immediately (including giving us the recommendation for Out of the Fire Café which, btw, had delicious food for takeout). There was a nice view of the forest and in the distance the slopes. We had fun building snow men in the yard during down time. There are a few things that led us to rate 4 as opposed to 5 stars, none of which should prevent anyone from booking this place but were nonetheless annoyances in part due to the word ‘luxury’ in the home description on Vrbo. For the most part the home was well cleaned, but upon arrival the basement/first level did not appear to be as there were raisins stuck into the carpet, candy wrappers + everywhere, and worst of all hair in the tub which I had to clean. The other issue is that it was impossible to fill the hot tub with warm enough water- the water would turn cold at maximum by the time it reached halfway of where it needed to be to start the jets- hence it was always lukewarm which was fine for the kids just not the adults; this would happen with us not having used any hot water for anything that day. The TV in the main room only worked with Roku- in other words no way to watch regular channels so we had to watch a football game via streaming it from our home TV to there- which was cumbersome. Lastly there was ample closet space with one shelf that was too high for the kids to reach, hence their clothes stayed in a suitcase for the duration, as there were no drawers / cabinets etc to put away anything in the bedrooms. All in all though, I would recommend this place for a fun winter getaway for the family!
This townhouse was a perfect stay for a three day ski weekend. The interior is light grey wood, unlike so many of the dark ski houses. The home feels bright and light. Even though the home is in a row of townhomes, you can't tell you have neighbors. Once inside, your view is of the woods. It was very quiet, we could not hear the snow machines. The house was also very clean. One note for those of you expecting three bedrooms, there are only two rooms with beds. One with a large queen/double and one with a bunk double and twin on the upper level. There is a third room in the basement set up with a couch. If requested, perhaps the owner would set up a bed in here somehow to make it the third bedroom. Fortunately, one of our party did not come, so we were not disappointed. The four of us were fine. Six would work if you request the basement room to be set up like a bedroom, seven if you had a kid in the upper bunk. Any more people would be quite crowded!
Only one think, may be- bed in the basement, instead of reclining sofa ....
Awesome place!!!! Only thing is we thought it slept 8. Only way that’s possible is to count couch upstairs and including couch as a bedroom downstairs was a little misleading. Loved it though and we made do just fine. Thx again!!!!
