The house and views exceeded our expectations.
Perfect house for our group of cousins. So easy to access and quiet part of Avalon. Loved all the fun family memorabilia!
We had a marvelous time . The house was clean and had a beautiful patio perfect for our size group (6). The neighbors were very loud in the late evening though.
Such a great house and picturesque. Everything we needed and all of the features we wanted. Liked the house, tvs and of course the fully equipped kitchen. Super close to Vons and more quiet than being close to the beach, even though it’s still close…Don’t think about it. Just book it! Catalina is awesome. Btw, loved all the decorations and pictures inside the house. Such a rich history!
The property was just as expected except for the zero toilet paper @ the house . And after traveling for 4 + hours the ladies in our group were agitated . I had to walk to the vons store for TP .
This Catalina beach home was perfect for our family, with plenty of space for both group activities and alone time. The home is close to the market (Vons), restaurants, bars, donuts and ice cream! What more can you ask for?
Excellent location, close to business area, easy access to port, beach, and night life. Enjoyed our stay, house was comfortable, clean, and roomy.
Safe location, great house with tons of character. Would definitely stay there again. Lots of room for a big group.
We enjoyed our 2nd year at Catalina Island. This house was great, big kitchen, nice patio with good BBQ. We enjoyed all the historical and family photos around the house.
Overall nice stay, only one shower was a challenge the downstairs bathroom has a tub. Also be sure to buy a couple of bars of soap if you stay more than 1 day because the micro-soap provided only lasts a day. Buy toilet paper too because you only get the roll on the holder in each bathroom, same with paper towel, 1 roll so if you stay for a few days and have kids, better stick up too on that. Upstairs very hot if the weather is over 75 during the day outside.. fans only do so much. Very noisy from very busy street corner, trash truck, street sweeper, golf carts and fire trucks/ambulances all pass by (so close to firehouse and city yard). Our family is easy going so all this was overlooked when we just enjoy each other on vacation.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Johnson Family cottage on Catalina. There is a lot of history in this house that we appreciated and tried to respect. Reading the binder about the cottage and it’s occupants really made us feel as if we became apart of its history. We especially liked the outside shower attached to the downstairs bathroom, ample sleeping quarters, and the proximity to the grocery store and other Avalon businesses. If you are a light sleeper, you might want to choose one of bedrooms in the back of the house to avoid the noise of golf cart traffic. I would definitely stay here again.
We had a great experience here. We arrived early on Friday and was told the house was ready and we could go in now. Wonderful news for us with all our luggage. The house is really cute with lots of family photos all over and sits on the end of the street so there is a patio to sit outside and watch all the carts of people passing by. A little loud but very nice to sit outside. It’s an old house so some of the dresser drawers were broken and we had an issue with the garbage disposal but over all a great place to stay. Checkout morning we were all running behind and was able to get a later check out. Again awesome news!!! We didn’t have to carry all of our stuff around all day and some were able to sleep in. We had 7 adults and 2 children and had plenty of room for all.
