This rental was a great spot for a last minute trip with our family prior to the holidays. PROS: The location ended up being awesome--- within walking distance to the Soaring Eagle chair lift, Elk River Ski and Equipment Rental and Hoots restaurant. You could also pick up your lift tickets. It really was convenient to grab everything in one sweep. There is also a bus stop at the end of the driveway that is SUPER easy to use and much better than trying to drive and park in the village. It runs every 30 minutes, but there is a number you can call on the sign for a ride (yes, a PERSON really answers the line) and we never waited more than 10 minutes. Rental was clean and bed were comfortable. Had everything we needed. SUGGESTIONS: - The directions to the unit were extremely confusing. We had three different cars all driving around aimlessly after dark. The customer service rep had chickens in the background that we could barely hear. The rental is actually in Loggers Run (that is what the bus drivers, etc. all recognize). The directions gave a generic address to Keystone Lodge which wasn't recognized by GPS or anyone locally when asking for directions. They need to update to say Loggers Run since there is limited cell service in the area. - Fireplace and coffee maker didn't work We had a really fun trip. I would recommend to others looking for a place to stay.
Very convenient property to the main ski/biking area. It happened that we did not have heat in our unit but the rental agency was very nice and brought us small heaters for the night and allowed us to move the second day to a different location. They were very responsive to our calls. It can get pretty chilly in Snowshoe even in June.
Great location, excellent cabin. There's only a 20 yard walk to the Upper Flume trail from back door of the cabin. Easy access to Soaring Eagle lift for green, blue and black diamond trails at Snowshoe. The cabin is furnished with everything needed. WIFI worked well. Was able to use my Roku with many apps and no issues. Bedrooms are spacious with good quality TVs. Dog friendly, we were able to bring our Corgi for the trip. Highly recommended. Will return next year.
