The home was comfortable , and well stocked with anything we needed . We will definitely be back .
We just wrapped another great stay at this cozy, charming summer cottage on Linekin Bay. The view from the deck is fantastic and Jen And Matt have arranged for everything a small group or family needs to enjoy a coastal Maine vacation. Access to the Linekin Bay Resort, just a few steps down the road, is a huge plus and provides the best of both worlds — all the amenities of the resort, including the restaurant and bar, and your own private space and deck and dock.
We had a great time. The view is outstanding. Stay was very relaxing simply hanging on the deck and dock. The water was cold, but we managed to swim. Used kayaks from Linekin Bay and took a puffin cruise. Loved the area!
What a find! Matt and Jen’s 100 year old cottage is rustic but so charming and cozy. And the view is simply breathtaking! We spent hours on the deck overlooking the bay. It was always quiet, calm and very peaceful! We loved Compass Rose and Linekin Bay Resort which is just down the street. It was a wonderful week and we look forward to returning.
The cottage is cozy but very well equipped and the access to nearby Linekin Bay resort make this a wonderful destination.
We stayed two weeks at Matt and Jen’s cottage. The first week was rainy and foggy. The second week was mostly beautiful and sunny. Hence, we had a lot of time to live in this house and on this property. It is absolutely as described in the listing, The beds are completely comfortable, the kitchen is stocked with pretty much everything you will need, and the dining and living rooms are cozy, but still large enough for four of us plus two 75-pound dogs to move around. It goes without saying that the views from the porch and off the dock are stupendous. The last thing that makes this cottage so great is that it is literally three doors down from the Linekin Bay Resort. We used their restaurant, bar, kayaks, and sailboats, frequently. And the staff over there are super friendly. I cannot say enough good things about our two weeks stay at this place.
Love our time!!
My family of six stayed in this cute cottage for a long weekend in June. It has a great patio and dock. The access to Linekin resort is really nice. We used the pool, kayaks, and restaurant. The cottage is also a very short drive to town. The owners were easy to communicate with. I’d definitely recommend this place others.
Everything was perfection at this property. The location can't be beat. The cottage sits right on a small quite harbor, with a large porch looking out over it. It's located on a less traveled peninsula in Boothbay Harbor, five minutes drive from downtown. It also is right next to Linekin Bay Resort, so you can enjoy some of the Resort amenities. We got to use the tennis courts during our stay. The interior of the cottage is very well appointed. The building is old, but rich with character. The furnishings and decorations chosen with taste. Importantly there was both heat for our cool mid-October stay, but saw ACs were available for stays during the warmer parts of the season. Plenty of activities for the youngsters was also very much appreciated.
This cottage is everything they advertised and more! You cannot beat the location, the porch overlooking the bay was the perfect setting for coffee every morning to watch the sunrise. We went in early October so it was a bit chilly when we arrived but once we turned on the downstairs heater, the cottage was nice and cozy! Our dog loved being so close to the water and he loved running around the beachy area during low tide! We will definitely be back during the summer months to see what the bay has to offer in the warmer months as well.
The property is a wonderful older camp with everything you need to be very comfortable. It feels like a well loved place, with great views of the water. Nice just to sit on the porch over looking the water, watching loons fishing and talking. Get lost in a book and completely relax. No need to go anywhere! I will be back in the future.
The view from the deck is priceless and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our 3 kids. Access to the Linekin Bay Resort makes this a great combo -- a classic and private cottage on the water yet only steps away from all the amenities and restaurant of the resort. Matt was very responsive prior to and during the week and we didn't have any issues.
The epitome of Maine living - charming, simple and nature at its best! We definitely hope to visit again in the future!
Beautiful property with the option to do lots of stuff on the water.
Such a beautiful place and so serene. I almost didn't want to leave the porch! Loved the house (we particularly appreciated the mix of vintage decor with more modern, comfier furniture, like beds, where it counted), kayaking right off the dock, and the proximity to Linekin Bay Resort for a nice dinner (even if we spent far more of our time eating at Shannon's Unshelled) and to Barrett Park, which our dog enjoyed as much as we did. At a remove from town, the cottage was just the respite we were looking for, and Matt and Jen provided everything we needed and more (thank you so much!!).
The Messer family thought of every detail. The house was clean, well organized and perfectly located on the water and within walking distance of town. We had a wonderful time snuggling up with a book by the fireplace, going to the botanical gardens, fishing off the dock, and playing lots of games. They were wonderful hosts and we look forward to visiting again soon.
Loved the quaint cottage feel! Fishing off the dock was a huge hit, especially in rainy and cloudy weather. Beautiful spot. Would highly recommend this place!
