Wow what a location! Set high on the cliff above the beach at Combesgate, Woolacombe is Sunnycliffe, a bright, open-plan 3-bedroom house with amazing sea views. You can easily walk into the popular seaside resort of Woolacombe and to the 3-miles of golden sands at Woolacombe Bay, alternatively the smaller beaches of Combesgate and Barricane are over the road.

Inside Sunnycliffe, there are 3 good sized bedrooms, all located on the first floor, these include a master with sea views, aking-size double bed and an en-suite bathroom complete with a shower, a wash-basin and a WC. The second double bedroom also has fantastic views over the sea and across Woolacombe Bay to Baggy Point. The final bedroom is a twin and has two full size single beds, as well as a small balcony where you can stand and look out over the countryside and sea beyond. There is also a family bathroom on the first floor, which is fitted with a bath with a good overhead shower, a wash basin and a WC.

Downstairs at the house there is a wonderful open plan living area, which is beautifully bright and spacious and benefits from stunning sea views thanks to large windows and doors opening out onto the terrace and balcony where the breath-taking views over the sea are best enjoyed. The lounge has two large leather sofas plus a tub-chair and bean bags for children. There is a flat-screen TV/DVD and WiFi. On entering the house there is a small lobby with space to store coats and boots.

The kitchen is situated to the left as you enter the main room and is well equipped with ample storage space and work surfaces. Appliances include an electric built-in oven, a four-ring hob, a dishwasher, a microwave and a four-slice toaster, plus a small dining table ideal for relaxed breakfast. Next to the kitchen is a useful utility room with a washing machine and ironing board, plus a handy downstairs loo.

To really make the most of the incredible sea views Sunnycliffe has a lovely south facing terrace with sun-loungers and a table and chairs, plus parasol. Also to the side of the house is a lovely large balcony with a corner sofa, two chairs and a table, there is a glass balustrade to provide uninterrupted sea views.

There are steps down from the house to the parking area, where there is space for one car. One additional small car can be parked in the garage (please ask the team for additional details).

Please note Sunnycliffe is not suitable for less mobile guests, and we are unfortunately unable to welcome pets.

Sunnycliffe is perfectly located on the edge of the very popular seaside village of Woolacombe, which is renowned for its stunning golden beach that stretches for almost three miles. The award-winning beach is patrolled by lifeguards from Easter through to the end of October and is loved by water-sport enthusiasts, as well as families visiting with children. There is plenty to see and do in Woolacombe with various different shops, pubs and restaurants, if you fancy it there is even England's oldest night club located in the village. For days when the beach is not suitable, many of the nearby holiday parks are open to day visitors who can take advantage of the onsite facilities, such as a paint a pot. Further along the coast, beyond Baggy Point, which can be reached by walking the South West Coast Path is the trendy surfing village of Croyde, which is home to more great pubs and surfing shops. If heading in the opposite direction Mortehoe is just up the road from Sunnycliffe and has some great place to enjoy a meal or get a take away, with the deli providing picnics for walks along the coast path or up to Morte Point where the views are spectacular. Other nearby places worth visiting include Braunton, Ilfacombe and Combe Martin. Alternatively, Exmoor is only a 30-minute drive from Woolacombe and is a wonderful place to enjoy a traditional cream tea whilst taking in the local scenery and wildlife, make sure to stop off at Lynton and Lynmouth to see the Valley of the Rocks and the famous water-powered Cliff Railway.

The house is quite disappointing overall. It might be okay as a cheap stay in a location close to good walks and great beaches, but at the peak season prices, it falls far short of the standard you would expect. The whole house smelt of damp and bleach. Towels smelt damp and some were stained on arrival. There’s black mould on all of the blinds upstairs, and on bathroom walls. It doesn’t look like the pictures on the listing. All cushions and rugs have been removed from communal areas for some reason. Bedding and curtains have been changed and seem second hand. Sofas have been changed since they took the pictures, and are so cheap and uncomfortable you can barely sit on them. There are also no lamps downstairs, so in the evening it’s the big light or nothing.Overall, it has the feel of a hostel or student house.Quite grim and spoilt a good chunk of our holiday. We raised the issues with the management company who were very dismissive. They offered to drop some cushions round and told us the views and the good weather would be enough.

The location of the house and view was stunning. The amount of steps up to it could be a problem, there was a lot more than we expected. The car parking is also a problem , there’s no room for error! But having said that the views made the effort worthwhile .

Lovely holiday home in a fantastic location. Great for beaches and walking. We booked advising we would have 2 cars. (Property sleeps 6 and we were a group of 5). The garage space was unfortunately too small to park our 2nd car which we and neighbours found out to everyone's frustration. So there were 4 cars on site with no-one using the garage spaces - challenging! Despite this touchy issue we had a lovely holiday in a beautiful location staying in this great property.

The location is very good with fabulous views but with a steep drive and 25 steps up to the property it could be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. The side balcony has very comfortable seating and lovely views, the front area although it again has lovely views could do with a tidy up. Inside the property could be made more comfortable with better seating (the sofas and chair are rather hard and not the most relaxing to sit on after a long day) and some lamps rather than bright wall and ceiling lighting. The laminate flooring gives the room a cold feeling and perhaps a rug would help make it cosier. Similar priced properties seem to have better decor and more comfortable furnishings.

Sunnycliffe has fabulous views and it is in a great location. Money spent on the property could bring it up to a very good standard. Unfortunately there were a few things that caused unnecessary issues.

Really glad we booked Sunnycliffe House. The position above the Watersmeet Hotel is superb, in a quiet location even in the high season, but only a 10 minute walk into Woolacombe. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the road with reasonably regular services into Braunton, Ilfracome and Barnstaple. Very nicely appointed, clean and pretty spacious, although the third twin bedroom is a bit tight on space but adequate. There is a very nice patio area out front with the views when the weather is ok. If we had any gripe, it would be the wi-fi. Speed etc., is very slow and we ended up mainly using our mobile data instead. But given where you are and the fact you're there to explore and be out n about it wasn't too much of a problem, We had a very relaxing holiday here, would happily return and would highly recommend.

Have stayed twice and would again. Really well equipped kitchen, good accommodation including downstairs loo and a truly brilliant view. Could be more comfortable with fewer hard surfaces and furnishings, and some softer lighting options. Garage really useful for bikes, surfboards etc.
