Stayed May 15, 2025This property had very easy access to the University of Arizona. It was walkable to many coffee, shops, restaurants, bars, and most of all- events at the university. I appreciated the fact that the property owner did not jack-up the prices during the time of graduation, unlike all of the hotels in the area which doubled and tripled their prices. I thought that was very nice. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the place was clean. I was surprised to see such a large television in the living room area. It was also a nice surprise to have some coffee pods in order to make coffee in the Keurig that was provided. Be aware that since the property is located so close to such a heavily traffic area, it won’t be super quiet at night. The prime location near the university outweighed any nighttime noise in my opinion. Parking was also quite easy, because a parking permit was provided. Communication with the owner was excellent. Responses came very quickly. I highly recommend this property.

Stayed Dec 26, 2025The location was great. Walking distance to the school and shops/restaurants. The house was cute and well suited for a family or couples. Everyone had their own bed/bath space. Yes, you can hear the cars all hours of the night, but it's the city, so we expected it and got used to it. At this point, I would have rated it 4 or 5 stars. HOWEVER, if something goes wrong, you're at the mercy of a property management company and not an individual owner, so don't expect white glove treatment. We arrived to a backed-up kitchen sink with three inches of sewage in it. Couldn't use the dishwasher and it was packed with the previous renter's dirty dishes, so we had no utensils. As soon as we arrived, management acknowledged it and said they'd send someone right away. No one arrived. When we followed up, they said they can't get someone to fix it and had no other property for us to switch to. So, we were stuck all weekend with a sewage filled sink. As such, had to eat out every meal. Also, the place was not ready when we arrived (45 minutes after check-in) and not stocked with extra toilet paper or trash bags. We bought own for the night until they could deliver more. I followed up with them for two weeks for a partial refund and, while they finally said a refund has been processed, I'll believe it when I see it in my bank account. Again, it was a nice place, but keep in mind you're at the mercy of a property management company and you're likely one of many renters they're dealing with.

Stayed May 4, 2025No surprises here, as the listing is clear that the property is on a busy road and there is unavoidable traffic noise. The host kindly left foam earplugs for those who are noise sensitive.Location couldnt be better for those visiting U of Arizona, as it's a 5 minute walk to campus. Lots of restaurants within a stone's throw; be aware the clientele is very young for the most part.Communication with host was outstanding, messages answered within minutes. Early check in was an easy process. Snacks were thoughfully left in the kitchen. We only stayed 2 nights and the house was well equipped for our needs. Thanks Eduard!

Stayed Mar 15, 2025u are looking for a quiet get away, this is not the place for you. If you are from a small town, you will not be accustom to the noise level from the streets you are surrounded by. The cars/trucks, motorcycles, and off road vehicles that drive by revving their engines is unacceptable. Every 5 minutes (or less) you will be hearing a vehicle rev its engine and peel out. This almost made us call the non-emergency line and file a complaint. The vehicles drive by with their music blaring at a hearing loss induced level at all times of the day and night. We are expected to keep our noise level down in the house, but the entire 1/2 million people living in the city are not. The noise coming through the walls on university is the worst, but it does seep into all the walls. We were here for 6 nights, the host allowed us 4 towels total, 7 wash clothes total, two hand towels for the bathrooms total, and two hand towels for the kitchen total for the 6 nights. I understand there is a washer and dryer, but that is an unacceptable amount for two people for 6 nights. There is no dish cloth, the host expects you to use an unsanitary sponge to wash the dishes or use the dish washer. There's only two of us here, no use in using the dish washer. There was no hand soap in the kitchen, just dish soap in the soap dispenser. Be warned- the water is so hot, adjust before washing your hands, washing the dishes, or taking a shower. The internet is 15 mb download, keep that in mind as wel

Stayed Nov 12, 2024I visited Tucson to visit my daughter in school at the UA. I looked for a place near the campus and Happy Cactus was a perfect fit. It is centrally located and along the SunLink tram line. It is also just a few blocks away from Time Market, a wonderful market/restaurant. Happy Cactus is well appointed, clean, updated and easy to use. It is along a busy intersection so I stayed in the side bedroom while my daughter stayed in the one closer to the main road. Lots of details taken care of including a nice coffee maker with plenty of Keurig pods and a water filter pitcher, too. Plenty of kitchen accessories made breakfast and snacks easy to prepare. All-in-all this is a great place! Thank you very much!
