In accordance with the Town of Kiawah Island Short Term Rental Ordinance, all guests understand that the approved number of bedrooms is 4, the maximum allowed occupancy is 10, and the maximum allowed number of vehicles is 5.

This Kiawah Island vacation rental features four bedrooms, a private heated saltwater pool, and Osprey Point Golf Course views. Conveniently positioned on Governors Drive, the main thoroughfare in Vanderhorst Plantation, the home is a 7-minute bikeride to the beach and across the street from popular Marsh Island Park.

As you enter through the front door, you are welcomed by a view of the living room which opens to the kitchen and dining area. The living room has a sectional couch, flat-screen TV, and access to the pool and deck. The open kitchen offers ample counter space, Thermador stainless steel appliances, and a large island with bar seating for up to 6. The adjacent dining area has an easily expandable dining table with seating for 10 people.

The downstairs primary suite offers a king-sized bed, access to the deck and pool, and a luxurious private bathroom with a soaking tub and walk-in shower. Upstairs, you will find three additional bedrooms. The upstairs secondary suite has a king-sized bed and spacious bathroom with double sinks and a walk-in shower. A second upstairs bedroom has a queen-sized bed and an attached bathroom with a walk-in shower. The third upstairs bedroom has a full-over-full bunk bed and a private bathroom with a shower/tub combo. Also upstairs, you will find another living room with two sofas, two side chairs, and a flatscreen TV.

The screened porch, which can be entered through the dining area, has comfortable sofas and a flat-screen TV. Off the screened porch, you will find a full bathroom to freshen up after the pool or beach. The outdoor back deck has a dining table and chairs along with poolside lounge seating. At the garage level, you will find a game room with a ping pong table. Just outside the garage, there is an outdoor shower perfect for rinsing off after a long day at the beach.

The home is equipped with washer, dryer, and high-speed wireless internet. The elevator is available for guest use and provides access to all three floors.

Please note that this property has exterior security cameras that view the home's front entrance as well as the pool equipment under the back deck. The cameras serve to protect both the property owner and rental guests.

The dimensions of the pool are approximately 10 x 20. The pool has a gas heater, so the pool may be heated in cooler months for an additional fee of $75 per day for the entire stay. It can take 24-48 hours for the pool water to reach the optimal temperature of 85-87 degrees. When the air temperature falls below 55 degrees, typically November-March, pool heaters have difficulty achieving the optimal temperature. In this case, pool heating will not be available. Contact us directly to add pool heating to your reservation.

Guest reservations of 3 to 21 nights come with a valuable credit to use towards beach gear rentals during your stay! The credit amount for this property is $300. You may use your credit for bicycles, beach chairs and umbrellas, beach carts, and more – the choice is yours!

During your stay on Kiawah Island, be sure to enjoy biking on the 30 miles of flat bike trails, golfing on one of five world-class courses, playing tennis, crabbing, fishing, swimming, and boating. Many families also enjoy the kids’ camp and nature programs at Night Heron Park.

Kiawah Island is about 40 minutes from historic Charleston, famous for incredible shopping, galleries, antique stores, museums, the South Carolina Aquarium, horse-drawn carriage rides, historic landmarks, and sumptuous dining.

    I can't say enough about A-E, the manager of the property. They were quick to respond to every request and very friendly. And we love the house. It has a sensible floorpan, very good finishings, and really feels like a home. I should mention that it is beginning to show some wear and tear (probably like all rentals). I sent a note to A-E with this information, and I have no doubts that they will be addressed. Getting into and out of the house was effortless, and we hope to stay here again in the future!

    Very nice week at this well-appointed home Wonderful outdoor space, and plenty of room- Great kitchen, and enjoyed the ping pong table too!! We drove to beach parking just past Osprey Golf Club, and that was easy to do- 5 minute walk to the beach from there- really nice week!! Hope to return- a great Kiawah house, and we have been at many!!!

    I can't say enough about the property or the overall service for our week. The home is large, friendly, and very well thought out. There are plenty of cooking supplies, the beds comfortable, and everything was in wonderful working order. We had a couple of questions/requests, all of which were addressed immediately and by very polite people. We were five: two adults and our three children (20, 18, 17), and no one felt cramped at all. I highly recommend taking advantage of the bike rentals! We were about a 10 minute bike from the beach and 15 from Night Heron. We loved our time, and this will be our first choice when returning to Kiawah.

    The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook for your family. The pool is so nice with a nice deck to grill out. Plenty of parking for a few cars. about a 10 to 15 minute bike ride to the beach.

    Family vacation with 6 adults and 2 littles… plenty of room and bathrooms. Beautifully decorated. Heated pool was great… we were in it every day. House had everything we needed. Very private. A little further from the beach than we thought.. but would absolutely stay here again!

    The home was so inviting & beautifully decorated. We prepared breakfast & lunch each day & the kitchen was well equipped to handle any cooking needs. The porch & pool area were very relaxing and perfect for reading. Marsh Island Park was directly across the street which was very convenient & we were also just a short bike road to the beach.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 262 Governors Drive is a beautiful home with everything you could ever ask for (except a hot tub). This was our second stay in this home. We had one issue with the heat (we couldn’t get it to stay warm), but it was quickly resolved by Akers and Ellis.The home was spotless, the kitchen stocked with everything we needed to cook and grill. The home has great views of the golf course. They are building a home next door but we truly didn’t notice. Kiawah never disappoints with it’s beautiful beaches, miles of bike trails and beautiful nature. Kiawah truly provided when my oldest proposed to his girlfriend near the Blue Heron bridge with a backdrop of a beautiful sunset over the marsh. Perfect! Kiawah Is our family’s “happy place.”

    We had a wonderful couples trip. We rode bikes, golfed, visited the beach, and took day trips to Charleston. Restaurants were fabulous as well as our own kitchen for a few home cooked meals. Wonderful trip all around.
