We had a lovely 3 night girls trip at this beautiful house. It exceeded our expectations. The house was extremely well stocked with everything you could think of (including 4 backpack beach chairs and 8 beach towels). The location was darling in a small cottage community. The walk to the beach was like walking through a fairy garden. We can't wait to return!
We had a great stay and loved being walking distance to the beach and to coffee/lunch spots. We also enjoyed seeing the wildlife, with deer and foxes wandering through the backyard!
The house is in a prime location for walking to the beach or to general store and donut shop near Red Arrow. The house was in great condition and had everything we needed for two families. The house is located in a collection of cottages so there's no outdoor privacy, but there is a lot of charm in the shared green space that runs down the central pathway.
Everything was as described. Great cute place. Close to beach and several little eateries. Only recommendation is supplying beach toys for kids like buckets, shovels, a wagon, etc. Otherwise house well equipped! Thank you!
This is a great house for a getaway. It is a clean and well maintained home with plenty of space to spread out. It is a block and a half to a two block walk to the public access beach. The access to the beach is a wooded pathway to a stairwell with two landings. It is certainly easier to walk down than it is back up! There is no parking by the beach entrance. The beach is very nice and well maintained. Make sure to make it down to see the sunset at least one night of your stay. There are plenty of games and books to keep adults and kids entertained. And, the internet connection is solid, which pacifies the electronically addicted. We also loved the keyless entry. Make everyone memorize the unlock code and there was no worry about who had the keys to get back in. What we wish we would have known ahead of time: 1. You need to bring your own grilling utensils, none are provided. Their book says that they are provided, but it appears some prior guest pilfered them. 2. You will need to bring your own fire wood, or you can purchase bundles at the corner store which is within walking distance. 3. You only receive 2 rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom for the week. Which means you won’t have a square to spare by the end of the week if you don’t bring your own supply. 4. You should also bring dishwasher pods, dish soap, Tide pods(or similar item), and bounty towels because you are not provided with enough of those items for a week either. 5. If you want trash bags that are stronger than your typical office trash bags, you should bring them. 6. A wagon would really be beneficial. You cannot park next to the house, so a wagon would be helpful to bring items into the house from your car. And, because of the walk to the beach, it would be helpful to bring items to and from the beach. Suggestions for the owner for improving the stay: 1. Your home sleeps up to 8 people, you need 8 chairs for the dinner table and 8 chairs around the fire pit. 2. The faucet on the outside of the house with the hose connected is broken and will not shut off. The running of the water is loud and constant which becomes annoying to the person(s) using that front left bedroom. 3. You need blinds for the windows in living area. We loved the natural light, but hated feeling like we were in a fishbowl at night without privacy. 4. A wagon for guest use would be great! Overall, this is a great place to stay. We would come back and recommend to others
Wonderfully clean and very responsive property management. Wish we got more than one dishwasher pod for the stay, but that is a minor quibble.
Overall, we had an awesome time and the house was perfect for our group. Wish the weather was a bit warmer so we could take advantage of the firepit area.
Great location and great experience!
Property is lovely, perfect location that is close to beach access, restaurants, Union Pier Market, Black Current Bakery. Reservation, check-in, check-out, and connection with property coordinator was very easy. Home is well maintained and updated. Beds were comfortable, kitchen is very well equipped. I really can't think of anything that was missing for this extended fall weekend vacation for our family.
We had a wonderful time. Driftwood Inn is very relaxing with great location close to Lake Michigan. We had everything we needed. Would totally recommend!!
