This was a wonderful stay for the Capt’n Karl’s trail series since it was just a few miles away from Pedernales Falls. The house was very clean and had an abundance of shaded outside areas to relax, read, and watch wildlife. The best part for us was the fact that the flat bottom creek was just outside. The last time we did this trail run event, we spent the weekend touring Johnson City and visited some wineries. However this time except for the the five hours Saturday night at Capt’n Karl’s, we spent the entire weekend at the stone farmhouse and no one wanted to leave Sunday. It is worth the extra money without a doubt. Next time I will definitely bring water shoes though. The hosts were also amazing and left chocolate, wine, and a foot massager out for us. The foot massager was the most sought after! They were even going to drive out early Saturday morning to help with an energetic smoke alarm. It was a very relaxing weekend and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to unplug and recharge.

First: the location is outstanding-a few miles from town, down a country road that takes you beside the Flat River. The house is beautiful, comfortable and elegantly decorated. Gorgeous views from the porch and large deck facing the river. We enjoyed sitting on these in the morning/ evening. . The owners were responsive and thoughtful—leaving wine/chocolate for us (our anniversary was that weekend.) My husband is already trying to find a time for us to return (and I’m always the one who plans the trips!) If you’re lucky enough to see that this place is available, book it immediately!

This stay went beyond my expectations, and from the photos alone, I already knew it would be spectacular. The main house was beautiful and charming, with every detail attended to. Don't worry if you forgot anything; most likely, they have it there for you. Walking around and exploring the property was such a great adventure. The creek is crystal clear and easy to explore. There are multiple places to sit and enjoy the views and several games to entertain everyone. There are too many spots to count to take pictures from. The second little fish house was adorable. I highly recommend this place because it is so beautiful and serene. It's hard to leave.

I highly recommend this lovely little farmhouse property for a relaxing and peaceful getaway! The house was super clean and well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Lisa made check in and out a breeze and provided us with great information regarding our stay. She was very quick to respond if any issues arose. I cannot even begin to describe the property itself. It was simply breathtaking. There is so much to do during the day with short drives to Barton Springs Pool, swimming at Reimers Ranch Park and Pedernales Falls State Park, or a day trip to Enchanted Rock. We also thoroughly enjoyed sitting by the river during the day and our evenings on the porch. We hope to stay again soon!

The house is beautiful! It’s private and feels secluded yet you have all the modern amenities you need and are close to activities. The views from all the rooms are picturesque. It was me, my husband, and our two boys(ages 7 and 11) and everyone had a great time. We enjoyed walking to the pond on the property and sitting down by the creek. There was plenty of water in it this time of year to swim but that may fluctuate. We also hiked Pedernales State Park which is a short drive from the house and worth visiting. The hosts were easy to communicate with and I was impressed by all the special touches and nice decor throughout the house. Hope to be back again soon!

We had a great girls getaway! The house was perfect and so relaxing, away from main roads and near a creek. The host is so helpful and responsive and the beds are super comfortable! We hope to return again one day!
