Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Our 3 story home, built in 1900, has been thoughtfully renovated for you to enjoy. It’s a nice mix of old and new, is approximately 1300 sqft and is all yours to use!
You'll enter the house through the front door on the second floor and will be welcomed into the eat in kitchen, filled with everything you need to prepare a great meal -or a great drink! You'll then find the living room where you can sit and enjoy the amazing city views, lounge in front of the TV or play a board game!
Note: there is a queen sized blow-up mattress available to accommodate 2 extra guests. There are extra sheets, comforter and towels provided. This floor also has a spacious balcony overlooking the city with twinkle lights above. This is our favorite area to lounge, dine and BBQ.
Upstairs you'll find the primary bedroom loft with a queen size bed, attached full bathroom, picture window, walk-in closet and laundry room. We ask that our guests be mindful that our charming old house has low & sloping ceilings upstairs.
Downstairs the secondary bedroom has a comfy full sized bed. There is also a walk in closet for your use in the hallway. At the end of the hall you'll find the full bathroom. Again, we ask our guests to remember the age of our home and be aware of the 6' ceilings in the bathroom. The four seasons room is both a serene private workspace and a comfy spot to sit and enjoy the views of the city and garden outside. This room connects to the 3-tiered garden in the backyard!
This property was perfect for us! The 3 floors allowed us to have space from each other. The view of the city was awesome! Additionally, we walked everywhere! Walked to the T to go to the Penguins game (we won!) walked to the strip for my favorite coffee and walked to the the Steelers game (we won!). Check-in was super easy and the hosts were very accommodating to our scheduling needs! Definitely a great place!!!!
We stayed for the weekend while visiting my daughter who is a freshman at Pitt. The house was so adorable and in a great, convenient location. Easy to get to campus and the football game. Communication with property owner was great and the views from the deck were amazing! Lovely home.
We were in town for a national taekwondo tournament. Very convenient as it was only a 3 minute drive over to the convention center. We really enjoyed the views as well as the space it provided. None of us felt cramped as you do in a hotel room. The host was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions prior to arrival. She also checked in to see how our stay was going which was nice. I would give this property 9/10
The view was amazing. One note, with the rain that is inevitable in Pittsburgh, it would have been nice to have an unbrella or awning on the main floor balcony to protect one from the rain if they wanted to still enjoy being out there. We had an amazing time. Thank you.
My family was visiting for a wedding and Vista Ave was the perfect home base for our crew. The house itself was so comfortable and the view of downtown was incredible. The location made travel and running around all weekend so easy. Our hosts made our visit very enjoyable - we'll be back!
Dirty air mattresses dead lantern fly in the refrigerator. Rug on steps was not attached(we had my 90 year old aunt and my husband 75 Enough said only stayed 1 nite. Very disappointing
Overall nice property, very good communication from the owner. Really only 2 bedrooms, but lots of space. Extremely hot the first day of our stay, would have been nice if the air was on upon arrival. It took all day to cool off. Overall positive experience and fun trip! Go Pirates and Steelers!
Our group of 4 was in town to celebrate a 50th birthday, filled with multiple Pirates games and exploring the city. This property is lovely, very clean, and has amazing views. Easy walk to the stadiums and quick ride to downtown. Genevieve is an amazing host and extremely communicative. We would definitely stay here again.
Property manager was very communicative. Great stay!
This was a delightful 2 bedroom vrbo with a great view of Pittsburgh no shopping in immediate walking distance but perfect for a group to stay for an event at the theatre or a big game take advantage of it
The property was exactly as pictured and stated. It was perfect for our trip!
Everything was great it was a very easy turnkey experience Genevieve was truly receptive and made everything very delightful.
Amazing view great location
Ask for a clean and functioning kitchen to produce 200 cupcakes for my daughter's wedding at the aviary. Perfect!
Cute space, great views and close to many tourist attractions!
Never having visited Pittsburgh before, we picked Skyline Sanctuary and found it fully met our needs. It was reasonably priced and offered enough space for our group to spread out. It's located walking distance to many places we wanted to visit. Also had enough parking for our vehicles. Genevieve made us feel really welcome. She shared lots of helpful information before we arrived. There were tons of homey touches. Beds were comfortable. And the deck overlooking the city is awesome. We even got lucky enough to see a fireworks display for Pitt's homecoming.
This property is an absolute disaster. We walked in to a washing machine full of dirty towels, empty hand soap containers in the bathrooms that turned out to be full of mold and chunks of gunk, broken railings on the balcony that could easily allow a child to fall thru to the patio 15’ below, the electronic front door lock with not unlocking or refusing to lock because of ‘deadbolt issues’, the neighbors parking in the properties designated spot AND the pvc plumbing under the kitchen sink separating and flooding the kitchen with water and waste. Oh and the property is listed a 3 bedroom when it’s actually 2 with an available air mattress. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.
We came to Pittsburgh for our anniversary getaway., hadn't been in years and this location was perfect. It's quite unique, having been built in the 1900's and on an angle. Masters of engineering these early settlers. Anyway, our stay was very enjoyable and the vista was well worthy of our decision. The house was very clean and had all the right tools for cooking and relaxing. The downstairs porch/office was perfect. I am an early riser so I didn't have to disturb my hubby. The separate cooling units handled the heat we had this week, very well. It was 92 on Thurs. but the house was perfectly comfortable, in all areas. The location made it easy to get almost anywhere we wanted to go within 20 minutes. There is a lot of construction going on, in Pitt, but it was still fine. We spent our mornings on the deck off the living room and our evenings as well. The lights of the city our wonderful. We also had a spectacular rainbow on Thurs. after a shower that was incredible. Would definitely stay again when we come back. The only downside would be the porch has no shade capability in the middle of the day when it can be warm. Not sure if there is a solution but it bears some thinking. Not that it would deter us from staying. Our host Genevieve was wonderful and responded almost immediately to any questions we had. If you're thinking of staying in Pittsburgh, give this property a try. I think you'll be very happy with your choice.
Charming Craftsman's House overlooking skyline. The view is amazing!! The interior of the house is as nice as pictured on website. Bedrooms on separate floors which provided privacy for adult children. House was very clean and included everything needed for a long weekend stay. The Strip District, Incline, Bakery Square, and Station Square all easily drivable from location. Communication with the owner was excellant!
Had a great time! Everything you could need was provided for your comfort at this home for a getaway. Great communication with host.
