With ample space and amenities for a large group of family and friends, Rabbit Run is an excellent home base for year-round adventures on the shores of Lake Michigan. Hiking trails, lakefront beaches, golf courses, and incredible kayaking, fishing, and cycling - it's all within minutes of this beautiful home.
These two secluded acres sit less than two miles south of Warren Dunes State Park and are within a few minutes' drive of great beaches (Warren Dunes, Weko Beach, Harbert Road Beach), hiking trails (Robinson Woods, Grand Mere State Park), and charming villages. After a day of exploring, you can unwind on one of the five outdoor decks surrounded by mature trees and lush lawns. Better yet, go for a soothing soak in the new hot tub and lounge blissfully for as long as you like. There is also a sports court on the property with pickleball, basketball, and Bocce ball options, allowing you to enjoy friendly competition throughout the day. Or head out to the party room to play a game of Ping-Pong!
The property consists of a three-bedroom main house with an open kitchen and four adjoining dining and entertaining areas, and a guest cottage made up of four private, spacious bedroom suites. Your stay begins in the main house with the kitchen at its heart - a beautiful space with a Wolf gas stove and oven, a 21-cubic-foot Whirlpool fridge, plentiful cookware and bakeware, 12-cup and 24-cup coffee makers, two dishwashers, and much more.
Adjoining the kitchen is a dining room with seating for everyone, a breakfast nook, and a family room with a gas fireplace and a cable and Apple TV. French doors lead outside to two gazebos; the furnished deck off the dining room has a gas grill and a firepit for nights of burgers and s'mores. Other forms of entertainment in the main house include high-speed, business-class WiFi, a book library with hundreds of titles (including children's books), a collection of VHS and DVD movies, and an assortment of board games and puzzles.
The guest house, meanwhile, is a wonderful place to find privacy and relaxation. Each bedroom suite offers its own deck, a private bathroom, a wet bar, and a plasma cable TV with Apple TV.

The house setup is perfect. Everyone enjoyed their room and space. The kitchen and appliances were perfect because we like to cook and sit around and talk at the same time. The dinning room and living room were off the kitchen so that was perfect as well. It snowed everyday we were there and the temperature stayed in the negatives, the house stayed warm with an impressive furnace system. My family and friends would like to rent the house again during the spring or summer.
While we enjoyed a great stay (15 ppl for Thanksgiving weekend). Upon arrival (4pm check-in. no early arrival offered) the entire place was NOT very clean. The bathroom floors around baseboards & toilets were pretty dirty and the floors in general seemed broom-cleaned at best. Guest House doors to deck access were unlocked (one was ajar) upon arrival as were several French doors in the main house. The refrigerator in the main kitchen froze salads, milk in the door, and all kinds of items no matter where we placed them or how highly we turned the temperature dial. The Wolf range was AMAZING!! And we appreciated the TP, Paper towel, and cleansers, soaps/shampoos-- we brought our own but they were very handy as backups and did get used. The kitchen was very well-stocked & offered plenty of pantry space. Thank you for all the great beach towels perfectly located by the door to the hot tub— we really enjoyed the spa! We loved the various gathering rooms—puzzles off the kitchen in the breakfast room, football on the TV in the living room, and by bringing in the outdoor table, we sat 15 in the lovely dining room. Guest house bedrooms were good. We thought the inside master had a queen+twin it did not, so one adult had to sleep on a sofa. Had we known, there was plenty of space for a queen air bed. There was a very sickly raccoon on the deck and. Vacasa did try to assist, but it was a problem.
This house had plenty of room for our large group. Some were doing crafts while others watched tv and others found a cozy spot to work on a puzzle or read. The bathrooms are nicely updated and we enjoyed the fire pit after dark most evenings.
This property needs some repair and maintenance. Broken/missing blinds, broken screens, broken door locks…. Definitely needs a new cleaning crew. The property is for sale and they have just stopped doing maintenance. Nicely decorated but there is no “living room” large enough to accommodate large enough to hold more than 6-8 people but advertised house for up to 14. Probably ok if the weather perfect to be outdoors but we had 4 days of rain.
We enjoyed our stay there. There were some issues with the cleaning but the management company made it right. Love the property, would stay there again!
This property was perfect for the size of our family. Everyone had adequate space to spread out. Excellent outdoor facilities including the pickle ball court and basketball. Hot tub was nice for the kids. Very close to the beach which was a short drive. The house was a little dated, and the pictures honestly were generous in terms of the overall appearance. This was likely a top-notch property 20 years ago, but just needs some updates to be a perfect 10.
Tons of bedrooms and close to Warren Dunes State Park
Sapcious for 6 families, enough cutleries and commerical grade appliances are a huge plus. Play area for tennis, pickle ball added more fun to the trip. Bathrooms were neat clean. Two things disappointed us, 1. Outdoor Grill - doesnt function properly, needs a replacement. 2. Fire alarm - dishwasher steam turns on the fire alarm, made us panic in the middle of night. The following day there were so many false alarms when we cooked in the kitchen, at one point we decided to remove all alarms in the living, basement and kicthen area..
Location, layout for multiple families.

The decor was beautiful, clean when we arrived, 5 stars
Loved the whole CUTE house, large yard and decks, and proximity to beach! It was perfect to have places to step away for quiet, or gather in a large group. Great kitchen space and natural light all around. Bathrooms with large mirrors and mirrored wet bars in the apartments helped us ladies get ready quickly. Comfy sleepable couches in addition to the many beds! We will definitely be staying here again and recommending!
We stayed here for a week with a group of 13 adults aged 27 to 66. The house is comfortable and clean and the kitchen is set up well for cooking for a crowd. There are washers and dryers on site and two dishwashers. The house is close to the Red Arrow Highway but far enough off the main road that it seems remote. The beach is about two miles away at Warren Dunes State Park, or about 3.5 miles away at a small neighborhood beach that can be located with an internet search. There were some maintenance issues with the house, but Vacasa responded quickly to our concerns. My only real complaint is that the house was listed with VRBO when I made our reservation, and after a change in ownership and transfer to Vacasa, the cost went up by about $600, after I’d been reassured that the new owners would honor my contract. Overall, it’s a nice house close enough to the beach to allow for a fun vacation.
Overall we had a good stay. The location is well situated near the dunes, the multiple en suite bedrooms were great for a multi-family trip. Same with the large yard for kids. Also many areas for gathering/common areas and the two dishwashers and laundry machines is great. There were a few things that could use some work. The pond in the back was essentially a mud pit- we reached out with concerns it was getting so low we would be dealing with dead fish. The oven didn't keep its temperature, the internet was spotty and there is no garbage disposal. The neighbors also expressed concerns that our kids were too noisy - we felt they were pretty standard volume wise for multiple kids running around in the yard. That’s not the property owners responsibility but something I would want to know if bringing kids.
We had an absolute blast staying at Rabbit Run for my friend's bachelorette party. The sleeping arrangements and the amount of space for all of us to hang out in were fantastic! Each room in the guest house had their own bathroom, and a couple had an extra sink. These were great when guests needed to go unwind or get some quiet time. We LOVED having the back porch and all of the chairs to just hang out at night. Once it got buggy, we'd head inside and snack around the large kitchen table, food prep area or TV space. This house is amazing and I highly recommend it for your next group outing. It was a 12-15 minute drive to some of the wineries, New Buffalo, and more. LOVE, love, love.
Rabbit Run worked out great for our group of 14 people. Everyone had plenty of room to sleep and spread out. The house was clean and we loved having outdoor seating as well. The kitchen is beautiful with two dishwashers and plenty of seating between the dining room and stools in the kitchen. The separate suites out in the guest house were really lovely and worked great for sleeping two or three people. The only concern was that the toilet on the main floor of the main house was not working during our stay. As our guests spent most of the time on the main floor (where kitchen, living rooms, dining room are) this caused some inconvenience. I was also disappointed that the price I paid when I originally booked this property through Vrbo was not honored when it was sold. Otherwise, our stay was very enjoyable.
