Oneonta, New York
The best location in the area! This beautiful historic home is located in the heart of the city of Oneonta. You can walk one block to Main Street to many shops and restaurants. It is also less than 3 miles to Cooperstown All Star Village Baseball Park, a 20 minute drive to Cooperstown Dreams Park Baseball fields, 2 minute drive to Baseball World, 5 minutes to Oneonta State and Hartwick College. It is an ideal spot for families and friends as all the rooms have plenty of space, plus the first floor has several rooms for relaxing after a long day sightseeing.
The front porch is the place to be in the evenings for a glass of wine or early morning coffee. Full kitchen and butlers pantry with plenty of cabinet space. We have all the utensils for you to cook your meals. New washer/ dryer. The back porch area is awesome for grilling steaks, hamburgers, chicken, hot dogs, etc.. No one leaves disappointed!

Large house, all bedrooms had access to four separate bedrooms. This made is very convenient to accommodate four different families. Quick 8 minute ride to All Star Village. The owner was available to help with anything we needed to make the stay comfortable.
This will be one of the only negative reviews of a product or service I have ever written. All of my experiences in working with VRBO and VRBO owners - up to this point - have been wholly positive. Properties have been as advertised, owners have been responsive when routine issues arise and previous reviews of the property in question have been thorough and accurate. This review is an attempt to forewarn future renters based on our experience with the property so that they can make an informed decision. If you are looking for a clean, functioning and accommodating property free of bugs and mysterious stains, where the mattresses are supportive, the furniture doesn’t look like it’s 30 years old and where the TV doesn’t give off an aquatic shade of blue regardless of which channel you’d like to watch, this home is likely not for you. We had the opportunity to meet the VRBO owner upon our arrival. He seemed like a nice enough fellow, but it was hard not to notice the caution tape preventing anyone from accessing a porch on the side of the house. Turns out, the porch is literally rotting off the house (it wasn’t the only instance of rot we noticed during our stay). Did the lights turn on? Did the water run from the faucets? Were the kitchen cabinets stocked with the bare essentials? Did the toilets flush? Yes to all. However, given the rate charged, the overall lack of cleanliness, it is our opinion that this house was not as advertised. Buyer beware. If interested, we have pictures of the property during our stay to help verify and substantiate the commentary provided as part of this review.
Dave was great!
We had 4 families stay comfortably in this 7BR classic/historic mansion. Owner was always helpful and recommendations for eating and enjoying downtown were spot on. Will return and recommend to friends!
This was super convenient to downtown and all star village for baseball. It’s definitely an older house, but worked for what we needed. Dave was super communicative and easy to work with. It got super hot and the AC seemed to struggle to keep up, so it got a little warm.
Our host was on point and his response was immediately, very attentive and nice
Home is in a nice, central location. Owner was prompt in responses to questions. House itself could use a deep clean and refreshing. We were surprised to see holes in walls/carpets, years in wall paper and evidence of water damage on ceiling and walls based on pictures in the listing. We had to do some cleaning in the kitchen on arrival - microwave, refrigerator, counters weren’t clean. Met our needs
The house was is a short walking distance to plenty of restaurants and shops. A super convenient location. The inn itself (because technically it is an inn) is quite charming with lots of original touches like stained glass and wood carvings, but it could use a bit of a deep cleaning and perhaps a bit of updating. Overall, it suited our needs perfectly and was very affordable. The manager of the house was very accommodating and responsive. If you are touring colleges and don’t want to stay in a hotel (and aren’t too fussy about a place being “polished”) this house is for you. We would stay there again if visiting Oneonta.
We enjoyed a weekend with extended family. There was plenty of space for everyone & everything we needed was there.
Dave is an excellent person and very accommodating. He made my stay a very pleasant one. Dave is an easy guy to work with and I will definitely look him up again if I need to be in the area.
