174 Glen Abbey by Akers Ellis Rentals

We have stayed here a few years ago. Very nice. Small pool but was fine for all who wanted to swim. About 1/4 from beach. There was 12 of us. Enough room for us all. Nice place. We would stay here again when visiting Kiawah.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: How was not available until 3 hours after check-in; cleaning crew was short staffed so some corners were cut in cleaning process. Sheets were stained and some of the towels provided were spiked. House was well stocked; grill only partially worked but rental company did promptly come out to help address. Bedrooms and overall layout was nice and very functional. Pool was shaded and was very cold.

The house was updated and we appreciated the ice machine, two refrigerators, and outdoor shower. It was closer to the beach than we had expected which was a nice surprise. As much as we liked the pool, we were concerned about it as we didn't know how to turn on the filter system and felt the water sat stagnant. The family got sick after the vacation and we wonder if it had to do with the lack of filtration or chlorine.

Reviewer Comments: We stayed at this property in 2020 and it was immaculate and newly renovated/refreshed. It was beautifully furnished and the kitchen was wonderfully appointed. It’s an easy walk or bike to the beach and the small pool was a boon during that pandemic summer. We were so happy, we booked again for the same property this year. A year can make a big difference. The house had not been well-cleaned upon check in; Akers Ellis responded immediately and had cleaners come out the next day to clean the bathrooms, kitchens, etc.. The bedspreads, pillow shams, household rugs, and dining room chairs could all use a good cleaning. The washing machine was so filthy that we actually had to clean it by hand before using it. A number of things weren’t working - busted gas line on the grill, rickety door on the ice maker....To their credit, Akers Ellis was incredibly responsive each time we called...and we called a lot. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and will continue our annual summer pilgrimage to Kiawah, however, we definitely won’t rent this house again.

The two refrigerators was a huge bonus and the kitchen was well stocked with plates, glasses and cookware. The pool was smaller than expected but was nice for a cool off. The kids loved the outdoor shower. The house was a 5 min bike ride to beach access 30 and 15min ride to night heron. Would rent again !

We had an amazing stay. Would highly recommend the property and would certainly look to stay there again on our next trip to Kiawah. Thanks!!

The construction next door began at 7am, was very close, noisy and smelled of gasoline fumes which didn't allow our use of the pool and outdoor areas on multiple days.

We had a great time, the house was spacious and clean and had most everything we needed. The only issue was the oven wasn't working properly and we couldn't get the grill to light even though there was a spark, but we called and while they weren't able to help on a Saturday night, they did call us back. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others!

The house was in a great location - on pond and short walk to beach. Very clean, well supplied and comfortable. Would definitely rent through Aikers Ellis in future.

The place was ideal. Group of 7 adults and two little ones. We had love it Zero complaints. Will definitely be back.
