15 Mi to University of Memphis: Getaway w/ Games

The game room with the pool table and plenty of seating was a huge hit. The long dining table was just perfect for our Thanksgiving meal! The large oven and warming drawers made the preparation of our meals a breeze.

This place is FABULOUS!! We had a wonderful stay and it was the perfect backdrop and space for my mother's 79th birthday dinner.

Very nice peaceful and quiet location! The check-in process was very easy and convenient. Has a lovely pool but if you’re a sun worshiper like myself, you may be disappointed! You only get sun from 10-12 and then the trees take it away! Loved the outside bar area! Spent most of our time there!! The kitchen is well equipped with utensils but could definitely use a sauce pan or two and some bowls for mixing and serving. Spent a week there with our kids and our four grand boys!!! The boys loved fishing in the pond although not a good week for fishing!! Very fun week! Thank you to the owners for sharing their place with our family!

Wonderful stay with 4 generations! The house was perfect for our stay, accomodating all. The pool was a great bonus, and the stay comfortable! Great location.

What a wonderful place full of history and adventure. Though the house is definitely older it is a nice and SPACIOUS home that easily accommodated three families. Every chance the men and boys got, they were fishing in the pond on the property while the younger ones tired themselves out swimming. The front lawn was also spacious enough to accommodate a game of wiffle ball and frisbee.It is PERFECTLY located close to the Southaven Ballpark (PG Invitational), stores, restaurants and outlet mall. Mrs. Murray is a wonderful host who truly cares about making your stay memorable from arrival to departure.

Description is accurate and the house was amazing! Plenty of room for our 3 family’s to get together and enjoy grilling, swimming, and fishing. Would definitely recommend. Close to many amenities making it a quick trip out if needed.

My children, grandchildren , great-grandson and I gather each year to celebrate Christmas. We can’t all make it on Christmas Day because of work schedules plus they live in DC, FL, TN, & MS and I live in TX. This was our first stay at Spitfire Acres. The location was lovely even though it was near the heart of Southhaven & 25 minutes from downtown Memphis. The house was beautifully decorated , clean and offered everything we desired. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay here. It was spacious enough for our big family and the kids had a blast running around the huge front yard. The dining table was huge with plenty of seating and there was plenty of seating in game room and living room for all of us. We loved staying there. A few things that we did have a problem with there were not enough bowls and spoons for our soup night. Would recommend having enough dishes and utensils for every seat you have at the dining table at least. Also all of the tvs were too old to offer any streaming apps. So if you plan to watch movies bring your own Roku or fire stick.

Loved location and distance from great food and wedding venue.The comfort and layout was perfect. We had such a good time just hanging out!Thank you Barbara for making our stay simple and enjoyable. My family couldn't believe how SpitFire Acres was just perfect!!!!

We have some family in the area and were coming to town for a reunion. We needed a house that would fit from less than one to 60s and this house did just that. We had four different family units stay at the house and the space was perfect for us to all gather but also have our own private space to go back too. The master bedroom even had a couch which was perfect for my older nephew to nap on and stay with the rest of his family. The family that lives in the area also joined us for a meal or two and we all sat around the amazing massive dining table. Even though it was raining we did enjoy the pool. In hindsight we should have had it heated but it was an additional charge we were not sure we were going to use. Barbara was lovely and met us at check in to show us all the lights and rooms. It was super helpful. Couple of things to note: There are stairs with a balcony overlooking the great room our kids did pretty well with it but there is no gates or anything so keep that in mind Also the upstairs bedrooms share a jack and jill bathroom. The toilet and shower have their own door however only one bedroom has a door to the sink area. The bedroom with the queen bed does not it would be perfect if you had kids in the twin room. All in all we will certainly look to stay here again if we come into town to visit.

Beautiful property with a fun history. Four of our girls caught their first fish, (and 2nd and 3rd!). Couldnt keep kids out of the pool. Great time.

We had a great time at Spitfire Acres. Location wise, you're really in the thick of it all with everything being at most 5 minutes away. But when you're back home you've got a ton of privacy as well. We enjoyed watching the geese make their rounds in the pond. If you're looking at homes in the Southaven/Memphis area, you won't find anything else like it!

This is a great property that has a secluded, 'outdoorsy' feel tucked away in the city. The owner, Barbara, was excellent with communication and very welcoming upon arrival. The kids had a great time fishing on the pond, and the adults had a great time relaxing. There are also several attractions relatively close.

We enjoyed this property with our 7 grandchildren. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the deck & the beautiful grounds. We hired a photographer & the photos our stunning! The owner & the property manager were so sweet they brought out pool toys since we had kids of all ages. They heated the pool & checked the next day stopping by. It was one for the books.
