Waynesville, North Carolina
Nestled in the trees is this hidden gem. This comfortable 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom house boasts a full kitchen, two comfortable living rooms, two decks and an outdoor firepit. Watch a beautiful sunset on the upper deck at night and enjoy the clouds play in the valley in the mornings. Listen to the creek babble and the owls hoot while you enjoy a peaceful retreat.
With a short 10 min drive, you can be in downtown Waynesville to enjoy antiquing, top-notch restaurants and breweries! Another 10 min drive brings you straight to Lake Junaluska and all the outdoor activities there. If you feel like traveling a bit farther, it's only a 30 min drive to downtown Asheville! Or 20 mins to West Asheville!
This house is great for large groups with two bedrooms, a full kitchen, living room and dining room on the first floor plus another living room, bedroom, efficiency kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor with private access to the lower deck. This quiet neighborhood is wonderful to walk the dogs in or simply to enjoy the sounds of the mountain. You'll have privacy while still being 10 minutes away from downtown Waynesville. Enjoy the day in the woods then grab a beer and dinner at Boojum, Waynesville Pizza or relax with friends around the firepit on the outdoor patio.
It fit us 6 adults perfectly. We got lucky choosing this one.
I brought my family to the mountains for the weekend. Excellent location we were able to shop, dine and spend a day on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The home is family and pet friendly. We spent one evening playing games and roasting marshmallows by the the fire-pit. They supply everything you need minus toiletries. The home has a beautiful view of the sunset off the top porch which I loved. We will definitely be back.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was perfect .
Had everything we needed for a relaxed, low maintenance girls weekend. The house was clean and perfectly functional with a gorgeous wraparound porch.
Well kept, clean and comfortable. Owner is great to work with. Very nice view, and nice area for cooking out.
We had a wonderful Christmas weekend. Would definitely stay again.
Property was as advertised. Clean and comfortable. It was a little further from Waynesville than we thought. The road up the mountain had a few switchbacks, but we didn't have any problem accessing the property. Host was very responsive when we had difficulty with fireplace. My husband and son-in-law loved the firepit. We left a day early due to Hurrican Ian. I wish we could have stayed longer.
Steven was very pleasant to talk to on every call.
The rental was great, clean, and at great location. Easy check-in and check out. Everyone that stay there say it was great. The step going down to the fire was a challenge for the elderly with balance issues.
Property owner is a wonderful communicator and very helpful. It is clear he wants guests to have an enjoyable stay while at this property. The neighborhood had more homes than we anticipated, but was still very quiet and peaceful. Neighbors we met while walking the dogs were friendly. Location is so close to so many towns and things to do- Waynesville, Lake Junaluska, and even Asheville is about a 30 minute drive. There is a dog park at Waynesville Recreational area which was also a nice alternative, as opposed to just walking our dogs in the neighborhood. House was cozy, comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Everything was exactly what you see in the pictures. The views of the mountains were spot on. We absolutely loved the porch. The house was full of everything needed, all you need to bring is food, personal belongings and toiletries. We had a very pleasant stay.
Steven seems to be a very nice guy and is great on communication, but the property definitely needs some TLC, and a good scrubbing. Positives- nice big deck areas (were dirty), nice view and sunsets, quiet, very peaceful and relaxing. Nice fire pit area (no wood- bring your own). Good hot water and A/C. Downstairs living area is clearly newer and than upstairs and a great area for family/friends to have their own space. Washer and dryer work great. Fridge keeps food nice and cold but ice maker does not appear to work (didn't care about that this is just an FYI. There are trays). Nice to wake up to birds singing! Negatives- the upstairs carpet is disgusting and I would not consider staying there unless it was replaced. We walked in and it stunk VERY strongly like dog- there are large and numerous stains on the carpet. Steven got right back to us regarding this issue and told us to spray odorban on it which did help, but a horrid first impression. We opened the windows as much as possible. We stayed for 2 weeks and I sprayed odorban about every other day. The last 3 nights my daughter came with her dog, but we did not have a dog the other 11 days, so it was not from us. It was quite difficult to get past that odor! As mentioned above, the decks were very dirty. There were 2 rocking chairs downstairs- one was broken. 6 Adirondack chairs-2 were broken. The outside table had to be leveled in order to eat off of it and the downstairs outside end tables were filthy. Kitchen stove had large melted plastic on one burner and could use a good scrubbing. There is definitely a need to replace and provide more cooking pots and pans and forks-I think there was a total of 6 miscellaneous sized forks. I used baking dishes but they needed to be covered in foil- they were pretty gross. The property would best be described as tired and in need of some TLC. (And a better cleaning crew) The drive up to the property is quite steep and there are some hairpin turns. This is not anything bad about the property-just be prepared for that. We wanted to be up high with a view so that is what we got. We jokingly referred to it as one beer hill because you would be very foolish to have more than one beer and drive up it. We made sure to be back before it was totally dark out after we drove up it in the dark once- it was pretty scary. I am not a person to leave a negative review and it pains me to do so but I also think this is a realistic view of the property.
Easy check in. Upper and lower decks. Nice fire pit and grill. Beautiful mountain views and sunsets. Sound of a babbling brook below. Owner good to work with.
Very nice and quiet area. Our host, Steven responded very quickly on any questions I had. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The extra living area on the lower level was a plus. I met the neighbor who was walking his dog. He stopped to talk and was very friendly. Over all, was a good mini vacation. I wish we had had more time but we would stay here again. One big plus for us was the pet fee. I had looked at alot of places to rent and this was one of the lowest. It's a shame that others charge so much for our furry friends. Especially, if yours is like mine and is very well behaved.
Beautiful location and just quiet an peaceful. We were able to bring out Great Dane which was nice since most places have a size limit. We all enjoyed our weekend get away. Owner was great communicating with us as well.
We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Close to Waynesville (breweries, cute shops, hiking trails)
