Very cute. Nice kitchen. Two bathrooms, one with a tub... Perfect for bathing the toddler. The antique phones were so cool!

Everything was communicated clearly and timely. Amenities were stocked, everything was very clean and the beds/bedding were comfortable.

Great short walk to Main St shops and restaurants. Cute vintage home with modern upgrades. The fireplaces and working antique phones were awesome. Perfect Christmas getaway for our family of 6

This is a very clean and beautiful place to stay. It’s an old and charming property and well taken care of on the inside. Stairs up to the property are in bad shape, so be careful. Only street parking, but not a big deal. A huge bonus with just minutes away from downtown. We would stay here again.

Fantastic, charming home with lots of nostalgic details. The location to downtown Galena was perfect, just a short walk down the hill. The house was stocked with plenty of towels and linens. The beds were very cozy and there was plenty of room to spread out. Sipping a hot cup of coffee on the porch in the morning was a perfect start to the day and game night at the kitchen table was a blast. The light switches were all labeled making it very easy to know what switch to flip. Side note…there are quite a few steep steps that lead up to the house which might be an issue for some.

The property was so quaint! Loved the decorative touches that were authentic to a bygone era. Beautiful kitchen, easy parking right next to the house. It was easy to walk to the downtown area. We did note that it got a bit quiet and dark at night, but walking as a pair felt okay (wouldn’t have walked home alone). The only thing to consider about this place is that there are several steps to climb up to get to the entrance and the steps need repair, so probably not ideal for anyone who might have trouble with steps. Would stay again!

Conveniently located and very nice!

The host made check-in so easy and the space inviting. Of course the hike up the outside stairs to the entry door was work....but we knew Galena is known for their hills and stairs! We walked all over town for tours, shopping and eating.

Charming, property with a great location! Walking distance to Main Street and easy to get to from US 20. There are some steps to climb from the street, so try to pack light! So many cute little touches, a porch swing and rockers, antique phones, comfy beds. We loved our stay, and would stay again!

The house was great! It was very clean, well stocked and decorated nicely. The beds were very comfortable. The location was ideal. It was close enough to downtown to easily walk, but far enough not to have to deal with parking/noise issues. The host was very nice and easy to work with. I would stay there again.

Just a short distance from Main Street, the home has updated amenities and was inviting, clean and comfortable with plenty of space for everyone. Sitting on hill, there are quite a few steps from the street parking to the door. It was a very enjoyable trip and would recommend staying here.

Home felt comfortable as soon as we walked in. Very well decorated and had furnishings to add to the joy of breaking away from the routine. Galena is Illinois’s best retreat from the noise of our current state of affairs in America.

Check-in was a breeze, house was absolutely perfect, clean, and had EVERYTHING we could ever need. The walk to downtown was about 10 min., but great exercise. We'll be back!

This home is curated with such care and thought. We enjoyed ourselves immensely in this property for a weekend of shopping and friendship. The location is ideal to walk to town. The kitchen has everything you need to cook, or gather. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are adorable. The living area was perfect for sitting with a glass of wine or coffee in the morning with lots of windows and light coming through. We were three 60 year old women and had no problem with the stairs as mentioned in some of the other posts. The host responded immediately and graciously if we had a question. It was delightful.

My 3 sisters & I stayed 2 nights at this home to do some shopping and eating in Galena. The home was so clean and had such a beautiful charm to it. We loved it and enjoyed it tremendously.

We rented this place for my daughter's bachelorette party. There were 4 of us and we had plenty of room. Place is super cute and only 2 blocks from Main Street in Galena. Beds were soooooo comfortable. Definitely would stay here again!

My family has twice stayed here and each time it was perfect. The cleanliness is amazing. The communication with the owner is perfect. She is always quick to respond. We are able to walk to the downtown from the home, which helps because parking is hard sometimes in the shopping area. I can't say enough good things about staying here. It's on-point with the quaint homes of Galena.

Everything was as listed. The house was clean and the basics, like coffee, were included. We got in late so getting in was a little tricky, but Marion answered her phone and helped us.The location was just a few minutes from downtown.

Great location, comfortable beds and plenty of needs provided for. Nice spaces for us to all hang out together: either in one of the 2 living rooms or around the table playing games. Modern updates and fun decorative details.

We came into town for a quick 4 days to celebrate Christmas with my mother and stepfather. They have a tiny house and had already had out of state family staying. We did not want a hotel so we chose this home. We had a great stay and loved the house. I’ll look to stay here again

Well-maintained inside. Unbelievably clean. Property owner answered questions in a timely manner. There were a lot.of steps to the house, but the write up of the property did mention the steps. The walk into the historic area was short. We even did it in the rain and it was no big deal.

This house was perfect for our yearly trip to Galena. So clean & spacious! We didn’t even use the second living room. And just a short walk to downtown. We will definitely be back!

This is the 2nd time we have stayed in this cute house. We really enjoy the atmosphere of this home and close to downtown to walk. Always clean. We will be back again.

Clean and convenient location

My best friend and I stayed for 3 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed Galena and the beautiful home. The owners have thought of everything someone would need. Walking distance to everything also.

It is a neat old house with modern and comfortable amenities. The house was clean and well stocked with everything you need. The two bedrooms are on opposite sides of the house, and each has a bathroom (one is only a powder room). It was nice for each couple to have a little privacy while sharing the house. We parked the car in front of the house and left it there for the weekend. The house is an easy 5-7 min walk to Main Street to get to all the restaurants, bars, and shops. It wasn't a problem for us, but note that there are steep steps to get to the property. Glad we found this adorable spot and talked about coming back next fall.

It was very bohemian on style site. It is an 1840 building and has a lot of stairs. It wasn’t enjoyable stay.

4 of us senior adults thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Blocks from Main street a definite plus for walkability! Enjoyed the side porch and nicely remodeled layout with both bedrooms and baths on one floor. Very clean! Marion quickly responded to our questions. Worked well for us all!

Galena is hilly & beautiful! I found the town to be inspiring & a lot larger than i anticipated. This home is in a great location if you’re ok with stairs to the door. There were a lot of extras & small touches to welcome guests. The beds, pillows were fresh & comfy. Kitchen well appointed. The a/c worked well in all levels which showed the professional remodel done correctly. Old house charm was retained. The best part was the homes thick walls creating a quiet zone in each room. We were fine with 1 shower. The 1/2 bath was in a good location. The 3rd bedroom is the downstairs family room & comfortable since the upstairs living room was primarily used. Marian was very accommodating & a great communicator. We will stay here again without hesitation & recommend to friends.

Love the old home with modernized updates. Quite a few steps to get our luggage & bags up to the house …. But we did it. Great location off of busy road - walking distance to Main Street. We enjoyed the porch swing, walking the hilly neighborhoods & checking out Galena County. Thank you for sharing your space.
