This house had plenty of room plus some for our vacation. Would go again for sure.
The property was nice and fit our needs for 14 adults for a family reunion. However, we were told right before checkin that the cleaners were still there and needed an extra 1.5 hours after our checkin time to finish up. The house was ok as cleaned, but needs a deep cleaning and some repairs. Couldn't get fireplace to work, many missing wands from window blinds and some don't work, carpet needs cleaning, one of the sinks in master bathroom has no water, only hot water in one of the showers on 2nd floor, ceiling fan in one bedroom does not work, ice maker doesn't dispense ice, no vent fan in bathroom near garage and must leave door open as bathroom gets very cold. We rented a different house from Vacasa in February only to be notified in June that the house wouldn't be available. Had to find another home, and again booked with Vacasa. Asked for one hour more for checkout since we were delayed 1.5 hours on checkin, but they denied our request. Very disappointed. Will not rent through Vacasa again.
Our ladies ministry group of 24 visited King Lodge and had a wonderful time!! The scenery was absolutely beautiful! The house was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed!! We had plenty of room to eat and relax. I highly recommend this property and we plan to return next year!!
Off the beaten path. Great view. 10k sq feet of quality built house. Fully supplied. Nice towels for the hot tub. Kitchen well stocked.
We would definitely come back. Views from the deck were spectacular, and the furnishings were excellent.
Lovely home with plenty of room for our family of 28. Plenty to do with a pool table, ping pong table, air hockey and several other things. Beautiful view!!
The property was perfect for my family get together of 16. It was wonderful to all be together and also have the ability to be alone if needed. Perfect sleeping arrangements. The kitchen needs an updated stove and more cereal bowls. We also had a realtor show up to show the house. She was very surprised it was occupied. All and all we had a great time.
There are only a few few things missing from making King Lodge a 5-star property. King Lodge is a terrific property. It offers an expansive and generous home with many amenities. For myself and my group (of 11 men) the house was the ideal property. Nearly all of us had our own room, the rooms are large and the spaces diverse. Common spaces easily accommodated us, with the great room particularly amazing. Nevertheless, the house was laid out in such a fashion to give us a variety of spaces and the opportunity to break up into smaller sub-groups without bothering others. The property is also well situated, with an expansive and memorable view of foothills and the mountains beyond. The various outdoor porches are a treat, as was the hot tub. It was wonderful to see horses on the property as well as lamb grazing in the property behind King Lodge. King Lodge is also located close to Lake Junaluska and Waynesville which offer plenty of good amenities such as restaurants and supermarkets. Also, Asheville is a quick 30 minutes away. While I would happily stay at this property again, I cannot give it 5-stars because of some much needed maintenance issues. While we enjoyed the property, the issues below definitely diminished the experience * None of the TVs through the house could connect to the DirectTV. Direct TV was completely off-line. No batteries in several remotes * The shower in the upstairs bathroom, connected to zebra wallpaper room, only had hot scalding water. The shower in the other upstairs bathroom only had cold water. * Many of the shades have missing hardware (impossible to spin close or open blinds) * No broom in house * No vacuum in house * Toilet flapper in downstairs hallway bathroom (opposite to master bedroom) was not working properly. Required jiggling. * Outdoor table on upper deck what very loose, with one leg almost completely detached. (We tried to put it back together but didn’t have any tools on site to tighten the leg enough to be a permanent fix) * Outdoor seating missing cushions. (Seat slats spacing not designed for sitting without cushions) * Overhead light in one bedroom doesn’t work * The stove top vent is not operational * Foos ball table doesn’t work * Womens underwear found in dresser * Shuffleboard table missing powder to be usable * Chess board missing pieces; unusable * Wifi doesn’t reach all areas of the house * Filtered water spigot not working (may require a new filter?) * Door knob from kitchen to deck has fallen off * Door knob of upstairs bedroom falls off * While the description of the property indicates that the retro kitchen is essentially non-functioning, beware that the tables at the retro booths where dangerously loose. * Hot tub circuit breaker was turned off when we arrived * Trash not cleared out. All 8 trash cans were full upon arrival and some with construction debris from repair construction to property prior to our arrival * It is not realistic to ask guests to take trash to street as is not easy to manage as the driveway. It is very very long and goes down a significant slope.
Our church enjoyed a marriage retreat for seven young married couples at the King Lodge. The house well exceeded our expectations. It was very clean and well maintained. We highly recommend the King Lodge.
