Plenty of room. Beautiful vista. Close to family friendly activities. The corners of rooms could have used a little more cleaning.
Nestled on a quiet road, with an amazing view of the Presidential Range yet so close to everything just being a short drive. We loved sitting on the deck, enjoying the views and just listening to the wildlife without the noise pollution of cars going up and down the road.
Wonderful views of Mt. Washington. Open, family friendly layout. Great for our family + grandparents. Bob's communication was super helpful especially around dealing with 6+ inches of snow. Location was great, close to ski areas and couple good restaurants.
The property, the location, the view and everything else that has to do with the house itself and its location is absolutely amazing, you won't be disappointed at all, however host Bob (the owner of the property) who lives and works overseas now was very communicative and helpful and even answered his cell phone a few times and we had a great conversation regarding our upcoming trip to New Hampshire. When arrived at the property (there were a three groups of people all in their separate automobile), one of our friends did not know that certain area of the property next to the house can not be used as a parking spot to park his vehicle. Yes, we did read the handout and we have made our best effort (my wife and I) to explain all our invited guests the rules and procedures that everyone would have to follow while staying at the house, however people do have jobs and tough schedules and tend to get tired especially after driving for 6 hours after work (we came from Central New Jersey 400 mile drive). Upon late arrival of our friend, he parked his vehicle next to the house, immediately after Bob the owner have contacted us and said that this is unacceptable and the vehicle have to be parked at the designated parking area. After the conversation took place we have immediately followed the instructions and parked the vehicle where it was acceptable by the owner's request, however Bob would not stop there, it was not enough, he started to talk and explain to us announcing dollar amount of money that he recently spent on installing a new septic system under the ground and giving us way more details that we have certainly did not need to hear about. He was relentless and it took a good hour or more for him to stop, even though nothing got damaged on the property. I can go on forever telling you how uncomfortable he made our stay, but I will summarize it for you. If you want Bob to monitor you 24/7 on all the outside cameras (I am not so sure, maybe there are some inside hidden cameras also), relentlessly text you by telling to say the least inappropriate staff and way too much inappropriate jokes while you are stying at this property, and moreover after you already left the property (inappropriate jokes and harassment would continue), then try to nickel and dime you and request more money from you simply because there was something that he personally did not like, then go head receive this property and enjoy endless harassment and abuse.
Much of my frustration is my own fault. I should have read through the details of the 6 page instructions/rules book and the 6 page rental agreement contract when I booked...and if I had, I would have canceled that day and found another rental. We rent homes a couple times a year and are also short term rental owners ourselves. Based on those experiences, we were disappointed in the following at this rental: -Requirement to provide full name, address, and cell phone of every guest as well as license plates of cars. This was just one example of many where privacy is a concern. -Repeated messaging, invasive questions via VRBO, direct text, live phone calls, and even direct messaging via LinkedIn. For example 3 messages just to ascertain the breed of our rescued mix dog. And no, the vet didn't tell us, we don't know, so stop asking. -Only stocked with 1 well-worn bath towel per person. No face cloths, no hand towels, no spares. -The washer/dryer machine was not working. (Owner quickly offered to have it looked at) -The icy, steep hill from the driveway to the front door that we had to spread sand (which was provided) on ourselves. Even then you had to be really careful when coming down with luggage, kids, groceries, etc. We followed the footsteps in the snow from whomever was there that day (cleaning crew?) but kept getting messages from the owner about a specific ‘path’ which was perhaps somewhere under the snow and ice. Ideally, there would be steps on a hard-scaped walkway with a handrail for such a steep drop. -No cable/satellite TV for standard programs. The Internet was good, but not fast enough for streaming live sports. Positives: -Excellent wide view of the presidential range. -Open floor plan on the main floor is ideal for family time. -House was warm, and there was plenty of hot water. -Kitchen had the tools and pots/pans needed to cook family meals. -Walmart is close by, so we were able to buy a lot of amenities including more towels, toilet paper, paper towels. -Snow shovels are provided. -Dawn dish soap and drying towels are provided. (no dishwasher)
It was quiet, peaceful and everything we had wanted. We get up every morning and watched the sunrise which was spectacular!! The location was only minutes from town with quaint shops and a wonderful fine dining restaurant right up the road. I could not have asked for anything better!!
The location, the property, the view were all amazing. A great spot to stay after day hikes in the Whites.
Incredible view. Pictures cannot do it justice. House was a good value.
Had a great time, views were amazing and host was very nice and extremely responsive with helping with any and all questions.
Comfortable warm home. Great for family weekend away. Amazing views of the Presidential range. Well located for great hiking and skiing adventures.
