The bustling town of Oban rests amidst the picturesque hills surrounding Oban Bay, on the stunning west coast of Scotland and offers an abundance of bars and restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets. The town's beautiful streets are awash with a wide choice of shops and boutiques, whilst the Oban Distillery is easily accessible occupying a central position within the town centre. Take a tour of the power station at the Hollow Mountain, Cruachan, situated on Loch Awe, visit the standing stones in Kilmartin Glen, or see the Ironworks Furnace in Taynuilt. The famous Corryvreckan whirlpool is easy to access with wildlife boat trips running nearby from Seil and Ellenabeich. The Isle of Mull is also just a short ferry ride away, and scenic Glen Coe with its dramatic scenery and walks is a great destination for a day trip.
