Location Location LocationThis property has a deck that is unbelievable. This is where we spent most of our time. There was plenty of beds for everyone to sleep but the mattresses could use an upgrade. A plethora of cookware and utensils made it easy to cook for a large group. The grill was useable but has seen better days. The A C went out but the owners had it repaired with a quickness. The large table served as an eating space and plenty of room for games. The outdoor fan kept the night time bugs at bay as long as you were within the wind tunnel. The quietness was a relief from the city noises. Our pups didn’t want to leave. They enjoyed the trip as much as we did. We caught a few fish from the dock but the heat kept them in deeper water. Overall it was a great multigenerational family getaway.

We've been using VRBO roughly 3 times a year for about 12 years and this is only the 2nd time I am unable to leave a glowing review for a property. If I had known in advance the state of things I either would have packed differently or chosen a different property completely. But, I'll start with the positives. 1. This property has a very spacious deck on the water with a GORGEOUS view.2. The owner is very kind and responsive and checked in on us often. Even bringing us a toaster when we realized the kitchen wasn't supplied with one.3. Plenty of towels, tp, soap and clean sheets on the bedsThe negatives for our family:1. The deck and external of the house were EXTREMELY dirty and bug ridden. The deck was covered in spiderwebs and tree debree. Old plaster ducks filled with old cigarette butts and yuck. Almost as if noone prepared the deck at all for company. It looked nothing like the photos in the listing which were clean and welcoming.2. Uncomfortable beds and broken recliners that didn't recline.3. Kitchen was gross. 2 cast iron skillets and a frying pan with god knows what foods all burnt into it and covered in mystery greasy substance. My mom and I couldnt make eggs for breakfast or anything that required a frying pan. The shelving under the microwave which was missing its handle was also broken and odd bowls and random kitchenware literally just shoved in there ready to tumble out when opened. Trying to figure out how to cook with what we had was very challenging.

This place has the most beautiful view! However, there is a very large amount of deferred maintenance and lack of basic amenities such as even a hair dryer that resulted in me needing to travel 30 minutes to get to the nearest larger town (twice) for basic things we needed and reasonably assumed would be provided. Owner than had the audacity to have us take their trash cans to the curb that was filled with trash from previous guests when they only live 1/2 mile down the road.

We had a blast at this lake house even though the weather did not cooperate. We pulled up chairs to the sliding glass doors and watched the waves crash over the deck. It has an amazing view and we spotted several eagles just sitting in the den watching TV. The beds were comfortable and the owners were great. We had no issues to communicate with them over our 4-day stay.

Our stay was very enjoyable and facilitated our visit to Reelfoot Lake and our weekend of eagle viewing. Dana was very easy to communicate with and responded quickly to our inquiries. The property was clean and the beds were comfortable. We were a small group but the house could accommodate a much larger crowd. The deck area was gorgeous and the view of the lake was fabulous and really added to the enjoyment of our stay. We will definitely consider staying there again. visiblecomfortable

Location and price is great. Owner stayed in great communication with me and answered all my questions quickly. Only thing that could be improved is the mattresses. But this is the place to stay if you have a big group and want a place on the lake. I mean you can fish directly from the dock if you like. Highly recommended

The deck is the star of this property. Everyone in our group from teens to a nearly 80 year old loved just sitting out on the deck, watching the ducks, turtles, and fish that reside near the shore. The living room was big enough for us, and we were able to spread out in different areas of the house to sleep.

This Lake Drive location is outstanding! We've been to Reelfoot numerous times in the past 30 years on Spring time bluegill fishing trips. This property is as nice as any we've been to. The old Hobie's Lodge has a rich history and enjoyed by many fishing and hunting groups along with regular family getaways. The new owners are making every effort to maintain that tradition. The Hostess, Dana, was wonderful to work with! She was very quick to respond to all questions and did a fantastic job of following up almost daily during our stay to make sure everything met our needs. Thanks again!
