Helena, Montana
Close to Helena yet out in the mountains, this spacious lodge will sure to please. Located on a historic ranch (semi-operational still) west of Helena at the base of MacDonald Pass. It would be a fantastic base camp for all your outdoor adventures with the Continental Divide at the top of the pass, mountain biking trails abounding and amazing ski areas near by, all the while being 15 minutes from downtown Helena.
The lodge shares the driveway and property with the main farmhouse and another VRBO (Creekside Getaway Cabin), which are both about 200 yards away. The area immediately surrounding lodge is for your enjoyment and has a picnic table and gas grill.
This 3 story log home has the kitchen, dining and living areas located on the main level with a sleeper sofa and full bath. There is a king bed and twin sleeper sofa in the loft. In the basement is a day bed, two bedrooms with a queen bed each, a laundry room and 3/4 bath.
Great location and awesome cabin. My young kids and friends had a blast!
Amy, our host, set clear expectations for our stay as guests in her family's beautiful cabin. We felt welcome as the place sits within eyeshot of their own home - and with amazing views up toward McDonald Pass and with elk and antelope visible in several directions. The cabin is well appointed and easily handled our Friday night dinner of maybe 12 people (only a handful stayed the night.) We were a short drive away from our Saturday Board meeting in Helena, and the rural setting really helped us prepare for fruitful conversations - as opposed to staying in another chain hotel. Would stay there again. Thanks Amy and family!
