Stayed Oct 6, 2023We really enjoyed our stay on Nelson Lake over the October 6th weekend. The place was very clean and beautiful with views of the lake and convenient to bars, restaurants and Hayward shopping. Our host, Jackie Anderson, was so friendly and accommodating, we felt welcomed and appreciated! It was wonderful, we'll be back !

Stayed Feb 22, 2023The property is part of a larger building, but the feel of an individual cabin is apparent as soon as you enter. The “suite” is designed with pine interior and attractive cabin decor with whimsical, fun touches such as the “bear” on the back of the chair in one bedroom and humorous signs about camp life. It is cozy, warm, and very clean. The kitchenette is well furnished with cooking equipment, dishes, a Kuerig including a variety of beverage choices, a small full size refrigerator, stove with oven, twin tub sink, and seating for two at a “bar” with stools. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom features an automatic light in addition to two other lights and fan. The shower is roomy with a hand-held option mounted high enough for tall people. Bring your own soap & towels. The open living-kitchen area has large windows on three sides offering plenty of natural light. The view over the lake is amazing, especially if you are awake for a sunrise. There are blinds to close for those who want to sleep in. There is plenty of bright lighting in all parts of the cabin. We stayed three nights while volunteering at the Expo at the Berkebeiner in nearby Hayward. Our hosts, Jackie and Jamie, were very friendly and were available if we needed them for anything. Jamie even cleared the snow off our car one morning! (Leaf blowers are good for snow, too!) We hope to find time to return in a different season when we can stay on site more to enjoy the lake view.
