My husband and I stayed at this property for a weekend getaway, and were beyond happy with the accommodations! The charming old motel (100+ years!) has been updated to modern comforts without losing its special vintage charm and character. The welcome book they provided had great info about local things to do, places to eat, and more. The hosts were very thoughtful in providing necessary toiletries, towels, an extra blanket, snacks, and waters. The location is close to EVERYTHING - walk to shop, eat, and drink, and just a few minutes drive from Lake Michigan. 10/10 stars from us! We will be back soon!

There was a dumpster in front of the building. Yes they were replacing the roof, but the curb appeal did not look like the pics. It looked like a run down motel, not sure where the cottages or boutique came from. It’s an old motel very cheaply renovated. We knew there was no AC, but it was so humid in the room our clothes were damp. If you can put a box fan in the window, why not an AC unit instead. No coffee pot. 1 pack of instant coffee, no dresser or drawers, no headboard on the full size bed. Given that there is no furniture in the room you would think they could at least make it a queen bed. A cheap particle board counter with permanent water rings. Cheap night table. Cheap little stools. Then there is the smell, it smelled old, musty and moldy. It was painted and looked clean, but smells like old water damage. Not very secure. The entrance door is a bedroom door. Because it was hot and we needed the window open, it was a little scary being on the ground level and property is not enclosed. This place was not shabby chic, just shabby. But I will say, they could make this a great little place if they wouldn’t cheap out on renovating. Not my idea of a boutique cottage.

They’ve done a nice job of remodeling the rooms. They’re working on the outside, so looks can be deceiving. Would definitely stay here again.

We thought we were getting a king bed, but it was a full size bed. But we made it work. No coffee pot, which would have been nice. Lots to do and see around the area! Didnt spend much time in the mostly to sleep.
