Harpers Ferry, West Virginia
1st floor private suite with 2 entrances. Filled with light and art in our pre Civil War home in the heart of Harpers Ferry.
Trouvaille House was built in 1837 and was one of the earlier houses built in Harpers Ferry. It has been remodeled in 2021 and is light, bright and full of artwork.
The Parisian Apartment, Suite 2, is one of four suites in the home. It includes a new, modern bathroom with rainfall shower, as well as a screened porch overlooking a private wooded yard. The kitchen and private backyard are shared spaces with plenty of room to chat with a fellow traveler or curl up in front the outdoor fireplace and relax!
Christie was a wonderful host and gave lots of good information for both myself and my daughter to both do and see. She has the history of the area and the property was both clean and well set up. We enjoyed the veranda and short walk into town. A parking pass was also provided to park right in front of the home. Thank you for a wonderful stay! :)
She was rhe perfect hostess with great loval tips. Lovely home and walkable to town.
I liked the bed and pillows. The bathroom was great. Inside Temperature perfect.
clean, decorated very nice
The room was clean, nicely decorated and well appointed. Our host was fantastic and made sure we were well taken care of. Great location within walking distance to restaurants, bars and historical sites.
Room very clean, our room had side porch. Access to kitchen, top of hill of Harper's Ferry so easy to get street parking and permit provided for parking. Host quick to respond, mostly via text. Very accommodating. This is the second year we stayed and we will go back.
Our amazing host Christie warmly welcomed us upon arrival at the lovely, quaint historical home. She provided a tour of the entry level and kitchen area with its many amenities. She took us to our room on the second floor and spoke to the special features of the accommodations. Christie is the consummate host. She is kind, responsive, and resourceful. She makes you feel like a king and queen!
We had such a lovely stay in this beautiful house in Harper's Ferry. Our room was absolutely lovely and our host could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We hope to return and stay here again!
Christine has thought of everything to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable! The room was beautifully decorated, with an in room espresso machine, snacks, mini fridge and flashlight for your night time explorations! The bed was very comfortable! She is so friendly and knowledgeable, we can’t wait to return!
This property is exactly as advertised and then some. It exceeded our expectations. Attention to detail is in every aspect of the Parisian Suite. It is decorated beautifully. The bed is very comfortable. We were the only ones in the house so it was a very quiet experience. We parked our car upon arrival and didn't drive it until we left. We walked everywhere. Christie is an exceptional host and gave us a list of suggestions for places to see, things to do and where to eat. We were happy with all the recommendations we tried. If our future allows us to, we will return and stay in the Parisian Suite.
The hostess is delightful and Harpers Ferry is an interesting place with lots to do.
Was very lovely decorated. Nice place. Great town.
We were pleased with both the property and the location. We arrived early in the day ahead of check in time but the property manager provided us with the parking permit so we could park the car and start exploring. We could walk to everything. Yes, it is downhill to the historical sights which means uphill on the way back. But we took our time and even saw some deer the one afternoon. The property was very clean and as pictured on the website. One suggestion would be to provide some luggage racks so we wouldn't have our bags sitting on the floor. Also, and I admit this is something missing from most rentals, is towel racks. The towels and washcloths had a musty odor which happens when left damp and without somewhere to hang them after showering this was unavoidable. Overall we would recommend Trouvaille house if you are visiting the area. We had a relaxing visit and hope to return to the area some time in the future.
Room was just as described and Christie was a trove of information for restaurants, things to do and shortcuts to get around. Don’t miss the Bolivar Bakery just a couple doors down the street (the scones are phenomenal) and a walk through the Storer College on the way to Jefferson Rock. Suite 2 is not the largest, but we LOVED the little screened porch and listening to the rain falling on the leaves while tree frogs and birds chirped away… our first trip to Harper’s Ferry, but we will be back!!!
A wonderful stay! We want to come back to visit Harper's Ferry. Jody was our host and was amazing to us! No complaints about her. Overall we really enjoyed everything about staying there. A couple of things to change would be temp in room( way to cold) and no refrigerator in the kitchen. It definitely needs one! The shower floor needs a lip so water doesn't run all over the bathroom floor. Anoying but easy to fix I think . Everyone please try them out. It is worth the money!
We really enjoyed our stay. The screened in porch was especially nice.
We loved our stay! It is a cute little place with a great story. Managed superbly. Super clean rooms etc. but LOVED the bathroom with the local made lavender soap and the best towels.
This property was clean and quiet and perfect for our quick vacation. We liked being able to walk pretty much everywhere. Christie was very quick to respond to our messages and even stayed up late on our arrival night to make sure we got in okay after a delay. Highly recommend this space.
The room in the Trouvaille House that we stayed in was great, and I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Harper's Ferry. While it's a (very) old house, it has been beautifully remodeled and decorated. Christie is an amazing host, who greeted us upon our arrival, provided great food + activity recommendations, and responded quickly to any questions we asked. We had a small issue with the lock on the door (the batteries died), and Christie immediately responded to my text message, remotely locked the room so we could go out, and came over within 20 minutes to change the batteries. We really appreciated such prompt assistance and care throughout our short stay. Some other small notes, none of which were big issues: -The house is ~10-15min downhill walk to the main downtown part of Harper's Ferry, and it's the same trek uphill back to the house. -Because the house is old + this room is next to the front door, we could hear the other guests entering/leaving/walking around the house/etc, but we didn't find this to be a problem.
The room is located on the first floor of one of the original historic homes in Harpers Ferry. We absolutely loved our stay here! The room is absolutely perfect with a comfortable (but firm) bed and soft pillows, a pink mini fridge with water bottles and milk for the coffee and a Nespresso machine. The private screened deck was so perfect for our morning cup of coffee. I would absolutely recommend Christie's place for a romantic weekend getaway!
