LaHacienda Chuparose is a place designed to welcome you. You will feel refreshed, relaxed and rejuvenated. Whether you are a solo adventurer, business traveler, fun seeking couple, or family, our casita is the perfect southwest retreat for you.

This tastefully decorated and thoughtfully appointed studio Casita is nestled on 4.5 acres of horse property. Yes, complete with horses, Thunder and Fiona, who love to nibble apple slices from your hands.

From the moment you enter the driveway framed by a mesquite wood fence, you are welcomed and enveloped in the beauty unique to Tucson. You will pass the main house constructed of Burnt Adobe and created with SW architecture that compliments the feel of the Old West. You will follow the gentle curve of the gravel driveway to the Casita tucked in the rear of the property allowing you to see the corrals where Thunder, Fiona, and friends hang out. From the Casita's covered porch, you can enjoy our resident roadrunners, quail, hawk, Vermilion flycatchers and of course our hummingbirds for which the property is named. Next to the Casita is a gate allowing you out into one of Tucson's washes. You are welcome to take it and explore the natural beauty of the Sonoran desert. In the evening, as you relax and enjoy the sunset, you often can hear the coyotes singing.

The Casita boasts a full kitchen with microwave, full sized refrigerator, stove, oven and dishwasher. The kitchen has everything you might need to prepare and serve your meals. When you are ready to unwind from your daily adventures, you can enjoy a movie on the smart TV via our wi-fi network. Or relax on the porch and enjoy the unobstructed view of the stars. Unique details through the Casita add to its charm including custom Spanish tile in the bathroom and a striking custom sink, unique and distinctive furnishings hand made in Mexico and the SW with exquisite details, a spacious wrap around porch, and generous sunlight provided by two skylights.

The location on the property gives you plenty of room. We hope you will be tempted to stop for a while on the porch and take in the lovely mountain views.

We have made every effort to anticipate your needs and have stocked the bathroom with essentials. A small charcoal grill is available for your use.

We have taken extra care to help you wake up rested and refreshed. The new mattress and box spring are high quality. The bedding is also new and selected with your comfort and satisfaction in mind.

Wi-fi access is available throughout the house and on most of the property.

La Hacienda Chuparosa has all the feel of being removed from the hustle and bustle of Tucson yet is minutes away from midtown Tucson or minutes away from the great outdoors of Sabino Canyon, and Mount Lemmon with Sky Valley Ski Resort at the Summit.

Guest access

In addition to your Private Casita you have access to the backyard porch of the main house. We want you to enjoy the large backyard with pool, fire ring, table and seating for 6 on our screened in porch with ceiling fans to keep you comfortable.

Interaction with guests

We are here to make your stay what you want. If you want privacy, you have it. If you would like to visit with us, we enjoy that as well. Please use us as a resource to help you enjoy Tucson to the fullest. We love sharing Tucson with guests.

Other things to note

We have a large dog named Max who stays with us and enjoys meeting new friends. If you'd rather not meet Max, he doesn't take offense. If you enjoy giving a furbaby a rub on the neck, he will take them all day long. You get to make the call.

Mark and Julie were great! Not to mention Bristol and Max! Close to everything, but far away enough for quiet peaceful nights. Always enjoy our stay!

Mark and Julie were very friendly and accommodating. Casita was clean cute and cozy! Area was secluded and quiet(coyotes off in the far distance were the exception) but 5 minutes from anything you could need. Will miss our buddies Max and Bristol!

The property was great. The owners were super nice. It was really fun seeing all the different horses, mules, pigs, cows, and calfs. It was a very private guest house on the back of the property very unique. Would recommend.

The casita had everything we needed and was in such a beautiful setting. Julie and Mark were great hosts and we enjoyed meeting the animals and taking a dip in the pool during the hot days there. L

I was back in Tucson for a wedding. The location was perfect - it was near my friend, near the location of the rehearsal dinner and not far from Tanqe Verde Ranch where the wedding was held. I loved watching all of the activity with the horses. And - the dogs - they made it a bit easier to be away from mine. The Casita was perfect for me. It was well equipped and extremely comfortable and provided me the peace and tranquility when I needed it.. I would definitely return

Our stay was all that we could have asked for. The room was just as pictured, clean, private and comfortable. Julie was extremely accommodating and very easy to communicate with. We highly recommend this VRBO and hope that it’s available the next time we’re in Tucson.

Very relaxing setting, felt very safe. The dogs were sweet as can be which was nice because we were missing ours, but there was plenty of time when they were off doing their own thing. Great jumping off spot to explore the area. Was hoping for a “relax by the pool in the sun” trip, but Mother Nature had other ideas! Would have liked to visit with the hosts more, but we were up and out early & returning after dark. Perfect little VRBO??

To be clear, the kiss didn’t come unbidden, but it only took a quick wag of a tail and all hearts were melted. This place is a centrally located to any number of hiking trails requiring a very short drive. The casita is wonderful. Tastefully decorated, cozy, comfy, and we think it’s probably the cleanest and most well kept property we’ve ever stayed in. Perfect patio with outdoor seating so you can watch for birds, listen to coyotes and watch a few folks taking good care of their beautiful stabled horses. Reminded me of when my family would camp at rodeos, but without the party atmosphere. The grounds were well kept and clean. Private, secure, quiet.

The casita is located in the middle of the horse farm, but was still very quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed watching the activities from the patio in the morning and evening. Everything I needed was provided and Julie even took the time to introduce my daughter and me to the horses.

Great location for my week-long business trip during the gem shows. A bit of a drive from the gem show areas, but worth it for the private, gated, location. Easy access to the wash behind the property for early morning walks. Quiet, except for the animal noises you'd expect from a working horse farm in the foothills. Short drive to stores & Bear Canyon trail access trail (even doable for short evening walks before dusk). I'd happily use La Hacienda Chuparsoa again.

The casita on a working horse ranch was all we needed as a base for our hike in nearby Sabino Canyon. The hosts were very nice and available. Would stay there again.
