Property listed as totally private guest house but is really a basement with other renters living above which you can hear. No heat except 2 portable heaters, shower curtain liner covered in mold and mildew. Not horrible, but certainly not worth $300/night.
Cozy apartment with a real fireplace. Only negitive was the tv remote was difficult to operate.
The guest house was clean and had everything we needed. Very quiet, cozy space for our weekend visit to Highlands. Carole was great about communication and was accommodating when we had requests. If the weather had been better, we could have walked to the plaza and downtown but the drive was short and parking was easy to find.
Porch is lovely. Good location. Property is attached to another home which I do not like. No window curtains so felt a little uncomfortable and light came in the bedroom in the morning. It is decorated modern, but very uncomfortable furniture. If you have to work on a computer as I did, there is no place except the kitchen island and stools were too high.
The porch in fall is worth the stay. Comfy beds and clean, fresh decor made for a refreshing and relaxing stay.
The house was fine, but the weather was excellent!
Really nice efficiency apt. Carole was so easy to work with and helpful. Even provided some firewood as it got down to 33 at night!!
This is our third time staying at Carole’s place and we’ll return again. Perfect for 2 people. We love dining on the screened porch and sitting by the outdoor fire pit after a day of hiking. Very close to downtown Highlands and restaurants, shops, entertainment. Very quiet immersion in nature but with all the luxuries. Our favorite place to stay.
What a comfortable, peaceful place Carole has for rent. Excellent layout, she is attentive and responsive, and quick with excellent recommendations on restaurants! Loved the porch and plenty of quiet. Rarely do you find such a gem. We will be back.
We headed to Highlands to escape the Georgia heat and found relief on the back porch of My-Hi. We did not prepare a meal there but the kitchen has everything one would need to do so. Bedding was very nice and bathroom appeared to be recently remodeled including a stackable washer and dryer. Parking was a breeze as you pulled up right outside of your quarters. We are already trying to plan another stay soon!
Although I don't think you can walk to town from this unit, it is very close. You can drive to town within 5 minutes. Very convenient to everything downtown has to offer. I loved the screened porch.
I was in town primarily to attend a class, then my daughter joined me for a couple of days at the end of my 7-day visit. I was under the impression that this was a stand-along guest house on the property of the main house. It's actually attached to the main house, which was perfectly fine. Very private, nestled in the woods of a small, quiet neighborhood less than a mile from downtown Highlands. There were some issues with the cleanliness of the awesome screened porch and other minor details in the house, but the owner was very responsive and took care of having the porch cleaned. I enjoyed my stay and will possibly return in the future.
Quaint cottage with very nice host. Communication with her was very quick & responsive. Disappointed with the cleanliness of the kitchen utensils & dishes. Walking distance to town but traffic & minimal sidewalks.
Nice place to stay, quick drive to downtown.
Quiet and woodsy surroundings. A perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle. Yet it was close and convenient to town.
We were contacted by the host three days prior to our arrival date telling us that the property was not available. We were offered an alternative property and accepted it. We purchased tickets months ago for an event nearby. Our accommodations were a bit dark. The bed linens were musty and the home could use freshening. It has great potential, but missed the mark for me.
Very nice place! Close to downtown but very quiet and private, well maintained and well-furnished in every way, and check-in was easy. It's a bit cozy inside, but plenty of room for a couple, and the large screened-in porch adds a lot of room. We'd definitely stay here again!
Beautiful place tucked into the woods. It is a perfect place to unwind and enjoy being in the mountains. It is close to the town center but not walkable.
Loved the porch, the quiet, the feeling of being tucked into the woods. The cottage is perfect for two people We were there for 5 days, very convenient to town but secluded. Carole was very attentive, even bringing us a small fan because Highlands was experiencing an unheard of heat wave while we were there. We really enjoyed Carole’s My Hi cottage and will go back again the next time we are in Highlands! ?
Close to downtown, only a little over a mile out. Easy to get to our events in town. Cute place with everything we needed.
