Out the back door, guests can relax by the shared pool and outdoor lounge area beneath the eucalyptus trees. The pool is not heated. While the outdoor area is shared with the owners, guests are given privacy during their stay whenever possible.



Casita Opuntia is centrally located near local cafés, bookstores, parks, Sabino Canyon, Downtown Tucson, and the University of Arizona, making it an ideal home base for exploring Tucson and the Sonoran Desert.



Guest Access:

Guests have full access to the private casita, dedicated covered parking space, and shared backyard pool/lounge area.



The casita uses a secure keypad entry system. Guests receive a unique access code that is active only during their reservation.



Please avoid using the bottom privacy lock when leaving the casita, as it can prevent keypad re-entry without assistance from the main house. The keypad deadbolt is all that is needed during your stay.

Other Things to Note:

Casita Opuntia is named after the scientific name for prickly pear cactus, which grows abundantly throughout the property and the surrounding neighborhood. Guests should be mindful of native desert plants and cactus areas.



The neighborhood is also home to native Sonoran Desert wildlife including:

Javelina

Coyotes

Bobcats

Wildlife sightings occasionally happen during early mornings and evenings.

Because the property is located near a hospital, guests may occasionally hear distant sirens or helicopter noise.



Mail & Package Disclaimer:

For your convenience, please note the following guidelines regarding mail and deliveries during your stay:

Direct Delivery Only: Any mail, packages, or deliveries should be received by guests in person or delivered directly to the property doorstep.

No Mailbox Access: We do not have access to the mailboxes, as they are reserved for owner use only.

Assistance Option: If on‑site coordination or retrieval assistance is needed from our ground team, additional charges may apply.



Strict No Smoking Policy

Smoking, vaping, and e-cigarettes are strictly prohibited anywhere on the property, including outdoor areas.

Violation of this policy will result in:

- Immediate termination of the reservation

- $500 additional cleaning fee



Guests needing smoking accommodations should book another property.



Interaction with Guests:

The owners live in the main house and are available if guests need anything during their stay, while otherwise respecting guests’ privacy and space.



Because this is a family property, guests may occasionally hear children entering or exiting the nearby carport area where bikes and scooters are stored.
