Healdsburg, California
This charming one bedroom cottage in Healdsburg is known as the bunkhouse at side road farm built in 1949. The bunkhouse is 592 ft.² consisting of a bedroom with vaulted ceiling’s and hardwood floor’s queen size bed and walk-in closet. The living room has a smart TV, couch and table and chairs with a kitchen nook that includes a mini refrigerator/freezer microwave and Keurig coffee maker. The bathroom has a remodeled shower stall, sink with large counter space and a toilet. The property sits on over 3 acres of land that once was an old horse ranch. However today it is the home of Side Road farm. We are a farm specializing in fruits and vegetables along with a small flock of chickens including a rooster. There is a black lab named Suzy on the property. We are in walking distance to 3 wineries. Your hosts live on the property with their dog. We are available if needed to help with your stay.
Quiet location in the wine country not far from healdsburg.
Suzanne is an outstanding host and this property has everything.... proximity to Healdsburg while also making you feel a world away when you are on the property! The Bunkhouse is cozy and private, and the views of the Dry Creek Valley are breathtaking! We will be back!
We love the bunkhouse. Just right for the two of us to relax and make it our base camp for wine country tours and tasting.
Would be perfectly convenient place to stay if not for the heat wave (July) - while it's listed as having A/C, it is not central air, only a portable unit on one side of the bunkhouse. When we arrived it was not yet turned on... in 100 degree heat. Until the temperatures outside cooled after 2 days, the house was not comfortable. That said, if traveling in a cooler month, it is a very cute spot, the hosts are very kind and helpful, and it was a great location.
Beautiful farmhouse feel on Westside Road, perfect location for visiting wineries and downtown Healdsburg. Sue provided all the touches from fresh flowers to coffee (enough even for us and we drink a lot of coffee!), to water and wine waiting in the fridge. Perfect.
I can't say enough wonderfulf things about our stay! Sue was the perfect host and the space was immaculate. Comfortable bed, good sized closet to stow suitcases & hang clothes, nice hot shower & a comfy couch. There's a small fridge with a top freezer, a microwave & a keurig, which worked fine for us. The location is excellent. Minutes from downtown, wineries, restaurants, and a Safeway conveniently down the street. Honestly, we can't say enough good things and can't wait for our next visit!
Beautiful, quiet location. Convenient to everything we needed( airport, wineries, restaurants). Sue was an AMAZING host… we were greeted in this cozy oasis by Sue, a charming venue, fresh flowers, snacks, and a bottle of chilled wine! We are already planning our next trip!!!!
The bunkhouse was super cute and Sue was a great host. We hope to visit again some day.
What a lovely weekend I had at Sue’s Bunkhouse on the Westside of Healdsburg. The place was charming, welcoming, clean, comfortable and serene in the heart of the Wine Country. If you like the country, you will love this little cabin surrounded by the sights and sounds of good country living. Sue thoughtfully provided me with wonderfully delicious chocolates, candied walnuts, cookies, bottled water, and the best bottle of wine straight from a local vineyard! Conveniently located, I easily went to/from the quaint and historic town of Healdsburg, as well as enjoyed local quiet walks through the redwoods, and a bicycle ride on a mountain loop overlooking the Wine Country at Foothill Regional Park which is within a short drive away. I would highly recommend Sue’s Bunkhouse for your next vacation get-away to the wine country! It was superb! Thank you again, Sue, for taking such good, quality care of me during my visit.
Stayed 3 nights for a wine tasting event in town. Very quiet, Sue is great, she definitely went above and beyond for our visit.
Location: Beautiful area full of vineyards. Great access to 101 Fwy. to visit friends in Geyserville, Windsor and Cotati. Westside nearby road provides an alternate route toward Sebastopol or Gurneville for coastal access in Bodega Bay and beyond. Sleeping: The bed and pillows were wonderful. Flannel sheets warmed quickly through the night. It’s a farm and there is a rooster. After the first night wife didn’t hear it but it bothered husband. Host kindly provided earplugs but hubby has big ear holes; wouldn’t stay in. Host might want to provide an assortment of sizes. He found the pillow-over-the -head helped. Eating: Kitchen/eating supplies were adequate for microwave cooking. We told the host that we drank decalf and she made sure there was plenty of decalf K- Cups for the coffee maker. We brought additional. Host left us a nice bottle of wine, fresh fruit and some candied walnuts (made there). Lovely fresh tulips and daffodils were in the living room and bedroom. Environment: There are lots of windows in the bunkhouse to let the sun shine in. Husband loved the shower; had excellent water pressure.. There are games, books and periodicals for reading. The host put together a nice information notebook for us to navigate Healdsburg.
