Bluebird Cottage a French Country Experience

Very quaint cottage at the end of a road. Perfect for me and not too far from my kids homes.

This is a special sanctuary. Welcoming hosts, charming decor, nature all around- if you are looking to feel refreshed upon departure, this is the place.

It was truly wonderful

I have been coming to Bluebird Cottage for 5 years. The place is immaculate and decorated so wonderfully. The kitchen has everything you need and the bed is super comfortable. The linens are the best! The area is so nice to explore and hiking just out the back door. I highly recommend this beautiful cottage. Allen and Marie are the best hosts- always there for anything you need.

We fell in love on our first visit here, not only with each other, but with this incredibly beautiful and very romantic cottage.

Where do we begin this was such a special experience for my husband and I. Alan and Marie make the check in process is so simple. The hosts are so amazing and make you you feel right at home. My favorite part of our stay was waking up and sitting out back with a cup of coffee enjoying the nature, and their gorgeous property. The cottage is stocked with everything you would ever need to cook with too. I highly recommend close to the beaches, stores, and a great place to get away and really vacation!

Attention to detail in the cottage and all the needed household supplies were appreciated. We enjoyed the beautiful property and the surrounding open space with trails nearby. Lovely, quiet neighborhood away from city noise and traffic, but close to shopping and services.

Studies show that birds only sing when they feel safe and the amount of birdsong from many varieties of birds you’ll hear during your stay at Bluebird Cottage are proof that this place is a safe haven. Located far enough from the freeway to be quiet but close enough to visit some great restaurants, Bluebird Cottage is even better than it looks in the pics. Marie and Allan obviously know how to make a house a home and this little space has everything you need to really unwind. The hammock is a great spot for a nap and the back patio is nice for curling up with a good book. The clucking of the chickens was a special joy and reminded me so much of my grandmothers house! If you’re looking to really let your nervous system rest and recover, I highly recommend this beautiful place.

Enjoyed the decor and special touches. The fresh eggs were delicious. Great little kitchen to cook in with all that is needed.

Marie and Allen have a delightfully decorated cottage, a real home away from home. The location is quiet and peaceful, yet only a few minutes away from access to some of San Diego’s best attractions: beaches, wineries, and wildlife park.

My third trip to this great little getaway and I am always impressed with the ambiance, cleanliness and comfort. Marie and Allen think of everything. The area has so much to offer- great hikes, great food and close to so many small beach towns to explore. Will come back next year for my solo new years trip.

Cottage is lovely. Fun, creative, classy design touches everywhere, including the lush outdoor gardens and deck. Nature connection.

This charming French-inspired cottage is perfect. So well appointed, clean (I'm very picky), comfortable (every surface has some cozy cover that is so comforting), and quiet. I am so glad we didn't stay in a hotel. This was exactly what I had hoped when I booked it and more. We were able to hike right from the front door.

What a truly wonderful stay we enjoyed at Bluebird Cottage. Communication with the owners was not only easy, it was friendly and welcoming, too. And the compliments don't stop there. We entered our home away from home and found this gem truly a home that was thoughtfully planned out in decor; every possible thing a guest might need while away was available; and it was evident our comfort was top of the host's list. It was such a joy to come home at day's end and have a cozy place to land. One certainly feels they're getting away from it all here, yet you're still close to the highway, restaurants, grocery. There is no question that if life's travels have us returning to Vista (and we hope they do), our choice for comfort, atmosphere and friendly hosts would be Bluebird Cottage.

I had a fantastic stay at this charming property! From the warm welcome upon arrival to the serene atmosphere, everything was perfect. The cottage is beautifully appointed with all the essentials and then some—perfect for both work and relaxation. If you're into hiking, definitely bring your shoes, as the surrounding trails are a must-explore. I came for business but would absolutely return for a retreat. Highly recommended!

Allen and Marie are excellent hosts. We were in Vista for a wedding in San Marcos and this was not only in a perfect location, but also affordable. The cottage is a perfect size for 2.

It's exactly as pictured and described. They had everything we needed and even had fresh eggs in the fridge! Slightly warmer in the day with only the fans but the night brought cooler air in. Because it is tucked in the wilderness, bugs were a plenty but they had bug spray even! Hosts were helpful and friendly. Already told family about this cute place!

The Bluebird Cottage provided a wonderful place for us to stay while in town visiting family. Everything about the cottage is exactly as it is described, including a fully stocked kitchen complete with farm fresh eggs! The hospitality of the hosts is unmatched. We're looking forward to staying at the cottage on future visits.
