We invite you to our quiet 4 bedroom cottage on the cove. Located on the long arm of Secret Cove amongst tall cedar trees, you can enjoy the tranquility of the gardens while sitting on the garden swing and listening to the buzzing of busy bees or the graceful play of the humming birds, while you close your eyes and just relax.

Or you can follow our garden path and steps (121) through the forest, down to the tidal fjord, sit on the deck and relax while watching the wildlife surround you. Listen to the calming sounds of Homesite Creek as it flows into the ocean while bald eagles, blue herons and ravens come seeking food.

Launch the canoe or kayaks (provided) and explore some ten kilometers of protected shoreline in Secret Cove. Paddle around the islands, put the crab trap down to catch dinner, or visit the marina. Take the water taxi to the beautiful sandy beaches at Buccaneer Bay on Thormanby Island.

In the evening go off to Coopers Green Regional Park where you can watch the activities at the boat launch, comb the beach for seashells or drift wood, and watch the sun say goodbye for the day. Then come back and light the campfire, roast marshmallows, make s'mores, and sip on a glass of your favourite wine while watching the flames dancing in the dark. Take advantage of the fresh evening air to plan you next day's adventure.

The choices are endless. You could hike one of the many local trails or explore Smuggler Cove Provincial Marine Park with trails overlooking the Strait of Georgia. Charter a local fishing boat (5 minutes up the road) and try your luck at fishing for salmon or ling cod. Venture off, to one of the many mountain biking trails, or arrange a sea kayak rental next to the Lighthouse pub (15 minutes up the road in Sechelt) the choice is yours.

The Sunshine Coast is host to several festivals, the Gibsons Jazz Festival in June, Sea Cavalcade in July, the Festival of the Written Arts and Pender Harbour Chamber Music Festival in August, and the Pender Harbour Jazz Festival in September just to mention a few.

Throughout the summer there are many craft fairs and farmers markets to attend. Artisan studios dot the landscape all along the coastal highway where shopping for unique gifts are a treat on a rainy day. (look for the purple road side banners)

There are lots of choices for dining out, from fine dinning at the Rock Water Resort or The Upper Deck Cafe ( seasonal ) floating restaurant in Secret Cove. If you want to make your own meals, you can put a steak on the bar-b-cue on the front porch or put a casserole in the full size oven. You can dine outside at the table for four on the covered porch or inside at the dining room table with seating for eight. A full size refrigerator, basic cooking ingredients, and all the pots and pans you will ever need allow for any meal plan.

So start dreaming now, book a date, and bring your favorite book.............. in case it rains.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is not large but its layout comfortably accommodates several people. The setting is beautiful and whimsical. We really appreciated the abundance of firewood for the wood stove which kept the place very cosy. Would definitely return.

Ian and Jackie’s property in Secret Cove was cozy, comfortable, and delightful. I stayed in the home with some friends in early February and found the rustic setting perfect for walking, gathering around the firepit, and taking a dip in the cove. The location is secluded and private, close to many local attractions and scenic vistas, as well as being a 10 minute drive to Sechelt. I would whole heartedly recommend this property for a either a relaxing and reflective escape, or for a base camp when pursuing adventure and exploration.

Absolutely would recommend staying here. We were a group of 4 ladies, we appreciated each having our own room. Two bathrooms (1 half bath) was a fantastic addition. The kitchen had mostly everything we needed, and was a great surprise that it had a fair amount of condiments ready for us to use. Some places don’t have salt and pepper, but this place had three different kinds of home made jam! Wow. Location is fantastic, not a bad drive out side the downtown core of Sechelt. Right in the trees. If you’re looking for a getaway from the city and some face to face with the wilderness, this place is for you. We enjoyed the Wood stove inside, and the campfire outside. The decor in the yard is eclectic, relaxing and nostalgic. Has a very charming “camp” vibe, and is connected to the main home. We were greeted upon arrival with the instruction to “knock on the door” if we needed anything! Small town charm. I sincerely hope to return. We loved it here. Thank you so much, Ian and Jackie. You truly have a slice of heaven in your hands.

The bed was comfortable and the cottage was well supplied with everything we needed and more. Although there was just 2 of us, there is plenty of space to accomodate a larger group comfortably. We appreciated the peacefulness of the location and the gated deck is a bonus for keeping dogs and children safe.

A really cute place in a beautiful location on the Sunshine Coast. The house was really well equipped, and the kayaks were a terrific bonus -- paddling on Secret Cove was great! Excellent, and very helpful communication from Ian before and during our stay. In short, a terrific experience. Highly recommended!

A special gem of a place, so glad we found it. Excellent location close to everything and a lovely spot in woodland, so quiet and peaceful, a relaxing spot and special to be able to go kayaking in the back garden. Jackie and Ian were great hosts, welcoming and had everything we needed in the place. The banana bread left was a lovely welcome, thank you!

Hosts were really welcoming and accomodating. The property is so charming and cosy and we so appreciated the extra touches, especially the banana bread, jams and the many condiments, spices, teas etc. It's such a well equipped space and we especially enjoyed the access to the inlet and use of the canoe, kayaks and lifevests. Such a beautiful location. Thank you for your quick communication and for enabling us to have such a great family weekend x

Some places provide the bare essentials. This went way beyond basics and had everything we needed and more. The hosts were very thoughtful including providing a supply of coloured pencils and colouring books. Plentiful supply of cosy colourful afghans and extra towels, including facecloths which are usually forgotten. The setting is lovely. Unfortunately the cool weather meant we didn't get to enjoy the great deck, garden and outdoor eating area. Highly recommended.

What a great experience: the hosts are super friendly, easy to communicate with and quick to respond, the cottage is in a wonderful location and stocked with everything you could think of (kitchen utensils, games, outdoor toys, camping chairs, sunshade). The deck is lovely to have your morning coffee at and the kayaks are fantastic to explore the inlet. The outdoor fire pit is fun for the kids and the indoor stove gives it a lovely ambience. Lots of comfy seating for the whole party, 4 bedrooms to provide enough space for everyone and the EV charger to top it all of - nothing more we could have asked for. We will definitely go back.

With a banana loaf waiting for us to the peacefulness of the property. This was the perfect place for a relaxing week. Although there was no view of Secret Cove, It was only a short walk down to it; and with the usage of the owner’s kayaks we were able to discover the whole cove. Being centralized along the coast, we were able see Gibsons one day to watching the tide go out at Skookumchuck Narrows another, to hiking the many trails.

The place was nice. Slightly dated but clean. The hosts were wonderful, very helpful and responsive. And even though they in live on-site, it felt very private. Our only complaint was that the steps down to the water were very hard for the older members of our group. And the waterfront itself wasn't particularly nice. You wouldn't want to hang out there. If you stay here, make sure you visit smugglers cove, which is accessible via a trail a few KMs from this property. Just the most beautiful sight. Stunning.
