Perfect retreat from this busy world. 1850's peaceful house on 5 acres on the oceanfront with a barn. The house is at the top of the property and you walk down the property to a bluff looking out over the Penobscot Bay. The house sleeps 8 in four bedrooms, 10 if the pullout couch in the sunroom is used. Two bathrooms, one with a tub/shower combo and the other one has a shower. There is a living room and dining room, in addition to the island seating in the kitchen.

Green Tree Coffee Roasters, featured in the NY Times, is across the street. Nothing can compare to waking up downwind on a roasting day. Dots bakery and gourmet sandwich shop is a couple doors down - perfect for a picnic lunch, quiche breakfast or a perfect wine. Walk down the property with stair access to the ocean (0.5mi) and then walk down the rock beach to Lincolnville Beach - my kids favorite. Or just relax in the Adirondack chairs and watch the boats. Walking distance to the Islesboro ferry - take a day trip to this beautiful island. Our home is rustic but we enjoy finding ways to revive it and have enjoyed putting our own touch into the house. We have done a lot of renovating this year! We have a new whole house water filter which does an amazing job combined with fresh Maine well water. The kitchen now has an island and butcher block counter tops. The windows in the kitchen and room above have been replaced.

The kitchen has a big bay window and window seat which is perfect for relaxing. For those who love cooking, the kitchen is equipped with a professional gas stove with a double oven

There is a dining room and living room as well as the library bedroom, which has a queen bed. The downstairs bathroom has a shower. The upstairs features beautiful 12 pumpkin pine boards. The upstairs has three bedrooms and a full bath with a tub. In total, four bedrooms and two bath. Plus a pull-out bed in the sunroom. The sunroom entry which leads out to the back yard.

The back yard leads down to a bluff, which looks out onto the ocean with a firepit area and Adirondack chairs. The are steps which lead down to the ocean front. The coast here is typical Maine with large rocks and big tidal swings. If one is looking to swim we are less than a half mile from one of the few sandy beaches in Maine, Lincolnville Beach. This beach is a great way to spend the day or you can lauch kayaks and paddle boards from the town ramp there.

Our barn is still pretty rustic and has its own unique history. Jane Wazey, a previous owner used the barn as her art studio and carved the Andre the Seal statue here. The statue is located in Rockport Harbor. If you are not familiar with the story about Andre the Seal, he lived with a local family and would return every year. It is worth reading the book or watching the movie before you come visit, especially if you have young children.

We had an excellent summer stay at Foxtrot! The kitchen was well furnished, the house was super clean, and there was plenty of room to spread out. The central location on the mid-coast of Maine made for some great day trips to Acadia National Park and Boothbay Botanical Gardens as well as dinner in Camden and Belfast. I would stay again if back in the area.

We had a great stay at this unique property. The walk to the bluff every morning and evening was part of the charm. There is AC in the kitchen which was very nice. The house is rustic but that's also part of the charm and is accurately represented in the description. The location is wonderful. Vivienne was very responsive and helpful. I would stay here again!

My family had a great time at this old farmhouse. The kitchen could use more utensils and plates. The upstairs could use a good dusting. The bathrooms were not the greatest but we knew it was an older home. Very quiet and peaceful

My family had so much fun in Maine. The house is in a great location. Walking distance to Lincolnville beach, great coffee shop next door, great market next door, close to Camden hills, we hiked Mount Megunticook, shopped in Camden, took the Ferry to Isleboro and spent the day. So much to do in the area. Vivienne was very responsive, friendly and easy to deal with.

This house is in the perfect location- easy access to water/ hiking / midcoast towns next door to a delish maine market and coffee roaster… the house itself is a charming old farm house that has all the basic stuff. If you are looking for high end - this isn’t your place. For us, we loved the comfy, lived in beach house vibe. My kids (8 and 5 ) loved all the games provided. The property has a rambling lawn down to the sea. The beach is rocky but you can walk along it- or drive - to a nice swim spot. The only con is we couldn’t stay longer. Plan to return!!!

Beautiful property with rolling field down to the waterfront. Charming old Maine farmhouse was warm and comfortable, provided everything we needed for a wonderful family gathering. Outside space for eating, star gazing and fire ring was perfect. A great location to explore Camden, Belfast and all the surrounding areas. It was a perfect place for us!

Understand what you’re renting if you stay here: this is a farmhouse built in 1860. It’s been maintained, but if you’re looking for fancy, luxurious lodging, look elsewhere. If however, you want a clean, spacious house that can comfortably accommodate 7-8 people of varying ages, with a well-stocked kitchen, and ocean beach access, this is a great place to stay. Yes, you’ll probably encounter a few bugs and the shower/washer are a little temperamental, and there’s no AC, but our family (grandparents, brother and his girlfriend, and our young kids) all had a really nice stay. The one major issue that we encountered was the battery on the code-lock died and we were locked out, but we managed to put my 7 year old through a window and get in. Other than that, everything was as expected and we felt like this was a good value.

This home has all the charm of a older farm house. We spent most of our time at the waterfront in the backyard. If you are looking for luxury this is not your place. It’s minimally furnished and but does have a comfortable bed. Having the coffee shop and Dots next door made our trip even better!
