Our classic island cottage is located on Prudence Island which can be accessed via ferry or private boat. If you need access to the mooring, please reach out for details.

We’re in the Homestead neighborhood, on the corner of Narragansett Ave and Pier Rd, across the street from the ocean, and within a short walk to the ferry landing. We have a panoramic view of Narragansett Bay and a large enclosed front porch from which to enjoy watching the boats sail by. The beach is quiet and perfect for a morning walk to Sandy Point and the Lighthouse.

Formerly known as Avalon, we renamed the cottage At Ease - exactly how we feel when we’re here. We hope you have the same experience! Each year minor upgrades to the cottage occur during the off season. We have begun a window and siding refresh and rebuilt the little screen porch. With the electrical upgrade, we replaced the light fixtures and added ceiling fans throughout. We also added WiFi for our guests. You’ll love the new outdoor shower!

The cottage has hardwood floors throughout. The two bedrooms each have a full size bed and the front porch has a daybed and trundle for extra sleeping space. The kitchen includes a gas range and a microwave. An outdoor shower, charcoal grill, and a washer and dryer, located in the garage, are provided for your convenience.

Prudence Island is located near the geographical center of the bay. To get to the island, a Prudence & Bay Islands Transport ferry from Bristol provides transportation for you and your vehicle. Once there, this quiet island provides the perfect environment for sailing, boating, beach combing, fishing, hiking and biking. In World War II, the Navy established an ammunition depot on the southernmost 400 acres which they turned over to the State of Rhode Island in 1972. Today the former base is now the Narragansett Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve where you can still find bunkers and the T-Warf pier. Approximately 85% of the island is in conservation easement and there are miles of hiking trails which help you explore the island.

Although there are no restaurants on the island, you will find a small general store and a few farm stands where you can purchase fresh eggs and vegetables.

This cottage is so cute, across the street from the ferry landing and the general store, and has the best front porch ever. The owners also put time into honoring the history of the home and the island. PI is also not filled with Range Rovers and too big houses, it's wonderful! We booked very last minute for July 4th weekend and watched about 10 different fireworks displays and the charming PI parade on the 4th alone from our comfy perch on the wonderful front porch. Tips: Try to make sure you can get your car on the ferry. You don't necessarily need it on the island (good to have, but not have to have for a short stay) but the parking in Bristol is silly and does not encourage ferry visitors. The kitchen is original and you will be cooking so be patient. Also, you will be washing dishes. The outdoor shower is OUTSTANDING!It's an old house so if you don't like quirks, this is not for you. Can't say enough about the front porch. Great for puzzling, reading and watching the water. The lighthouse and rocky beach are within walking distance. Everything else (incl the sandy beach) is not really walkable. Overall, a great place for a short stay. Thank you!

I stayed for a week in late July with my family. My husband has so much family on Prudence and he practically grew up here so we love this location to begin with. This cottage was exactly what I hoped for when spending the week…so charming and comfy and with so much history too! The view was spectacular and my son loved being near the Prudence variety store too. My favorite room was the enclosed front porch, a gorgeous view while eating your meals and great spot to relax. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need. The outdoor shower was fabulous too. This truly was one of the best vacations I have had in so long. We kept ourselves so busy with swimming, hiking, and just taking drives around the island to see the landscape and the wildlife. My husband and other son did some fishing also.Highly recommend this cottage… I can’t say enough wonderful things about it.

We arrived by ferry for a two day stay. The house is just up from the ferry in a good location with nice views of the bay. One thing I would have liked to know before booking is that there is a boil alert for the island meaning you can't drink the water and have to bring water with you. The house was very comfortable and it was nice to drink coffee in the morning in the sunroom. There were a lot of extra fees that drove up the price. Not sure I would rent a place like this in the future.

My friends and I stayed in this cottage and beautiful island for the Fourth of July weekend and had a splendid time. I felt greatly at ease during the vacation as we walked around the neighborhood and visited the cute store across the road. We loved our scenic beach walk to the oldest lighthouse in RI and skipping rocks there. I would highly recommend it here if you're looking lovely vacation.

Hi House was good and as described. But there are extra fees that you should review before booking. For us, the initial price was mich less than the final price with “host charges”, “booking charges”, etc added in the final bill. Not sure we have booked it if we had added it all up. Caveat emptor.

The property was just fantastic, fully equipped with everything we needed, beautiful views, location was amazing especially for someone coming without a car since it’s across the street from the ferry & the little store. My family of five had the best time. Thank you!

Across from the ferry and general store as stated. 3.5 miles down to T Wharf. Excellent hiking trails through shaded woods paths. Sunset trail terrific as well. Bring extra bike tire tubes.... Terrific vacation destination. Thank you!

We had a wonderful quiet, peaceful old timey vacation — walking, exploring, fishing, reading, chatting, playing board games, watching the boats and ships pass by, enjoying the breezes and the morning mists, evening sunsets, outdoor shower, and home cooking. No WiFi, no AC — and we didn’t turn on the TV. Quality time — loved every minute!
