Whale Song Accessible Cottage - Near Beaches w/ Resort-style Pool

We loved this lovely home/ everything was perfect & the house is gorgeous- shows exactly how the pictures looked/ We’re thrilled we chose this cottage. A great value for all you get. Book it!

I am from Kennebunk & wanted to have an extended stay (3 weeks…..should have been 4) on my own without relying on family who still live in the area. Found listing for “Whale Song” on VRBO and thought it would be a perfect place especially with the security of being gated. I was not disappointed, from the style of the house to the adorable décor, the pools & friendly people it surpassed my expectations. Had a great time! There truly is no place like Maine!Thanks so much!

Reviewer Comments: The “Whale Song” cottage was spotless, comfortable, kid-friendly and conveniently located about 10-15 minutes from town, shops and eateries and from a couple of the area’s lovely beaches. The cottage truly felt like a home away from home and was a perfect base for us to meet up with old friends and their kids for a couple days in the greater Portland area. We felt so relaxed in the private and quiet community surrounding the cottage and enjoyed several leisurely walks and a couple afternoons at the pool, and we especially loved our beach days at Goose Rocks - our son’s first time at the beach since he could walk, and he had a blast! We had our fill of various lobster dishes and blueberry-based desserts from the local cuisine - a couple months later, and we still think about the blueberry pie from Five Acre Farm. All in all, it was a worry-free week, and the “Whale Song” cottage’s amenities and overall coziness played a big part in that. Kennebunkport now holds a special place in our hearts as we experienced a number of firsts with our son on a very memorable family vacation. Thanks to Liz and the Coastal Maine team for being so communicative, helpful and thoughtful before, during and after our stay. Highly recommend!

Very clean and comfortable. Minor plumbing issue on arrival late in the afternoon, and Liz was able to get a plumber out quickly to take care of it.

This was the easiest stay we’ve ever had. Everything was there for us: starter kit of soaps, sponge, etc. TP, PT. Beds were all made up, towels and pool towels were provided. It was so appreciated. Check out was a breeze-nothing to do but strip the beds. It was great to not have to rush around cleaning up before we left. We cleaned up after ourselves but nothing more was expected-no having to start a load of washing etc. I felt spoiled :) The construction starting at 7am was a bit annoying though. That’s the only con of our time there. We’ll definitely rent from Arundel Cottages again. The weather cooperated so that was great. Did several day trips to surrounding towns and a trolley tour of Kennebunkport viewing some beautiful homes.

The house is new and well organized. The resort-like neighborhood is outstanding with the community pool, gym, and recreational game room. If you’re looking for a quiet place only 10 minutes away from Kennebunkport, this is a no-brainer. We’ll be back. Enjoy!

We planned to entertain friends and wanted to have a fully equiped kitchen and living area with enough seating. Enjoyed the smaller living/TV room off the larger open concept living/kitchen. Kitchen was well equiped with dish/glasses service for 8 with serving dishes/platters and additional storage containers. Great assortment of utensils even a lemon zester and measuring cups! Had to move and open the table to have table seating for 4. Gas barbecue grill and fire pit were not operational. (clogged jets in BBQ, no gas in fire pit) Planned on grilling dinner for guests so had to purchase barbecue equipment, that was very dissapointing. Community location was perfect, easy to get to local towns and shops. Access to Route 95 close via Bidderford spur. Location of cottage within community was great! Cottage is secluded, surrounded by nature, last home on a dead end street. Grounds, clubhouse and pool well maintained and beautiful. Two out of sight community garbage dumpsters were overflowing at one point with bags of garbage littered on the ground. Dumpster was emptied within a couple of days but litter was still on the ground. Locating the iron and board was like playing hide and seek (but found it!) no extra set of sheets for the pull out sofa that I needed for an overnight guest. Generally the cottage met most of our needs but I was dissapointed that this early in the season (first two weeks of June) the property had not been thoroughly cleaned and checked to be fully operational. I probably would book again now that I know more details but would confirm with the management company prior to arrival that extra bedding and barbecue are available and operational. A little more detail from the management company on entry/lock access and what to expect would be helpful. I did figure things out as we poked around. Community is seasonal rental so other cottages are available.

Great location and property to stay for the Prelude weekend. Cottage was well stocked to eat in and has plenty of room for our party. Would recommend anyone looking for a stay in the KPT area to check this place out.

The cottage was very clean, beautifully decorated, wonderfully stocked, comfortable and spacious, yet cozy. The particular lot that the cottage sits on is perfect. There is privacy on the front porch with no cottage directly across from it (perfect for morning coffee!) and the wooded area surrounding it is so pretty. I just cannot say enough about this cottage. The two bedrooms were perfect for me and my sister. I loved the upstairs bedroom and bath as it was a quaint space unto itself. What was also extra special was that there are two living spaces. The living room comfortably seats a group of 5+ people, and there is another separate room with a pull-out sofa and tv. We loved playing air hockey, foosball, ping pong, and shuffleboard in the community game room and sitting by the firepit in the evening. This had everything we needed and then some! I should add that the owners were very responsive to our needs and addressed our questions promptly. We had such a hard time leaving and wish we could have stayed longer! I would not hesitate to stay here again! Absolutely a gem!!
