Adorable bungalow high on a hill overlooking the beautiful twin lighthouses on Thacher Island. The bathroom is a bit tight but otherwise a very nice spot in arguably the most scenic section of Rockport. Walking distance to several beaches and pretty Loblolly Cove. Loved it!
We enjoyed the cottage and the area around, the sea is always beautiful.
Needs some updates but certainly was enough for our needs. Marilyn is the best!
The cottage is as advertised - rather small but quaint. The four of us were comfortable there. There is not a lot of room in the kitchen for bringing your own food supplies, but we were able to prepare most of our meals there. The neighborhood is friendly and quiet. There is a nice beach about a mile away (Pebble Beach, I believe), and lots to do in town, and also in Salem and Gloucester. Marilyn checked in with us and made certain that we had what we needed and also provided recommendations on restaurants and places of interest. We enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed longer.
The cottage is old and small but clean and in a great location. The host is responsive by text which is great.
Love it! It is not directly on the water, but has a wonderful view. It's quiet and calming. Marilyn is wonderful to communicate with and is very willing to help in any way. The cottage was exactly what we were looking for: small, but roomy and very comfortable. It could use a bit of updating, but what beach cottage doesn't? I haven't been that relaxed in, quite literally, decades. My wife and I can't wait to go back. Even our little dog enjoyed himself. Very much enjoyed the friendly neighbors and loved seeing the wild turkeys and beautiful doe that would pop out occasionally. Yes, yes, yes!
It was in the most beautiful quiet spot. The cabin is dated but thats what we loved about it, it was very clean and had everything we needed. Its also a short walk to a beautiful beach . Marilyn was amazing to deal with and we will definitely book with her in the future.
Nice cottage with convenient location for exploring Rockport and Gloucester. Nice size for two to four people. Really appreciate that we could bring our pet. (He loved it also). Only comment is it’s a little pricey once you include the maintenance cost.
Horrible. I reported this. Left 2 weeks early. Filthy. Windows wouldn't open. Coffee pot and toaster didn't work. Shower curtain filthy. Fan filthy. Cob webs. Window broken. Bureau drawers had trouble opening and shutting. No microwave. Oven filthy. Burners didn't work properly. I want the 2 weeks I didn't stay there rebates. False advertising.
We expected the cottage to be small, probably older and a bit tired. That's what New England cottages are. This place exceeded our expectations. It was slightly dirty and needs a lot of repairs. Among other things, there is exposed wiring around the fuse box, the bedroom door knob fell off and is un-repairable, the bathroom floor mat was always wet (possible a leaking toilet), one of the stove burners didn't work, and the refrigerator was dirty. Aside from those things, you needed to be slim to use the toilet and an acrobat to use the tub/shower. We took pictures of some of the problems if you want to see them. This was advertised as suitable for elderly or infirm. Only if you didn't want to use the bathroom. Nearby cottage with same design also advertised through VBRO warns of entry and bathroom problems. All of this made our stay unreasonable. We arrived Sunday afternoon and complained to the owner on Monday to see if we could get some kind of a rebate. We abandoned ship early Tuesday morning. Of course no rebate. We think that this is a case of false advertising and expect VRBO to frespond to this complaint.
