Stayed Oct 6, 2025Great property. Kitchen was well equipped and appliances were all in great shape. Loved the Maine cabin feeling. The whole property was very welcoming and comfortable. Water view wasn’t as good as pictured, but owner said the trees had grown up over the past year, and due to restrictions on wetlands, could not be removed until permitting was approved. This did not take away from the property, and it was a short walk to a city path which was a well used gravel path into downtown Belfast. About a mile walk. Views of the river from the path were awesome.

Stayed Aug 30, 2025A lovely cabin but no real water view unless at dock. Dock is totally accessible for an able body! Harbor walk is behind home and just fabulous….right into town!! We had a bump in the road with wet, smelly towels but response was immediate to correct!!! Well equipped kitchen!! Would recommend this cabin but listing should be updated to present view which is blocked by foliage and explain dock is a small hike and not for those who may not have great mobility.

Stayed Aug 16, 2025Loved the privacy and location of this house. It was perfect for us and our son who stayed with us for several days. The outdoor space was enjoyable for dining and lawn games. Loved early morning walks on the Rail Path and sunny afternoons on the dock. Only a short walk to downtown Belfast for shopping and eating. Enjoyed a day trip to Fort Knox and the Bridge tower and to Camden.

Stayed Aug 8, 2025What a wonderful setting and place, just a little walk through a summer meadow from the rail trail and river, and a short walk or bike ride into Belfast. Jon's cottage (he built it!) is perfect - airy, comfortable and well equipped. We saw multiple eagles, a variety of songbirds, a loon and more. A perfect getaway any time of the year, and a lovely base to take in all the beauty of Maine.

Stayed Aug 2, 2025It was a charming cottage in dreamy surroundings! We loved our week in the very comfy cabin with great kitchen, dock with kayaks, beautiful grounds and flowers, and trail into town to see the shipyard, sailboats, and quaint Main Street. It was also great fun to have our dog with us and throw the frisbee on the expansive lawn.

Stayed Jun 6, 2025This was the cutest cottage for our first trip to Maine! We loved taking our dog for walks on the trails behind the house. There was plenty of wildlife and beauty right behind the house. This was the best place for birdwatching! We could hear the loons from our window at night, and we saw them in the lake a few times. The cottage itself was beautifully decorated, spotless, and had everything we needed for cooking dinners. The host, Jon, was quick to respond to our questions and made the whole stay seamless with his kindness and hospitality. Belfast is a wonderful town with shops and views of the river. We preferred it compared to more crowded places like Bar Harbor. We would definitely stay here again!

Stayed May 8, 2025My husband, dog, and I stayed there for a few days in early May. The weather wasn’t that great but that’s not the host problem. The home though was not what we expected, nor was there any communication about check-in and checkout, and or where the proper appliances were and/or the garbage disposal. We discovered that all on our own. What I had read in the comments, it sounded great however there wasn’t sufficient paper products (I.e. Paper towel towels/toilet paper). I was smart enough to bring a roll of paper towels, and when we stopped at the local grocery store and picked up two rolls of toilet paper. On the website, it says that they were sufficient in the kitchen and had a lobster pot. Well guess what someone took their lobster pot because it’s wasn’t there. We went to Young’s Lobster pound and had them cook our lobster and brought it back with us.All in all the place wasn’t very clean and the couch was not comfortable whatsoever. I had to actually sit on a pillow for support. The home needs some updates. But it is a great location, but be aware of the pictures are deceiving.

Stayed Sep 21, 2024My husband, dog, and I stayed at the cottage for 4 nights and loved every minute of it! If we had been there with kids, they would have loved the lofted bedroom as well. The setting was so beautiful, and we used the pathway outside the cottage every morning for walks either into town or into nature. The bed was so comfy, and everything was clean and well kept. Jon was a fantastic host, very communicative, welcoming and friendly! He made a point of welcoming us into the cottage, the town, and the property as a whole. Belfast the town was a fantastic home base for day trips to Acadia and surrounding towns/sites, or just hanging out and having a meal at one of the wonderful restaurants. We would recommend this property to anyone considering staying in the area and would stay again!

Stayed Aug 3, 2024We stayed two weeks at this property and very much enjoyed it. The cottage is near the Belfast rail trail and we walked on this every day. We liked that the location felt very private yet it was only about a mile walk on the rail trail to Belfast harbor. The other great thing about this property is proximity to the Passagassawakeag River. It's just at the backside of the property and the owners have a very nice dock that was available for our use. The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We highly recommend this property!

Stayed Jul 30, 2024Great cabin with comfort and has everything you need for a stay in Belfast. We have two boys (17,20), they shared loft room and had own 1/2 bath. We used the kayaks and the chiminea. Turkeys walking around in the morning. We drove to Acadia NP, explored Belfast. Best seafood in Belfast that we had was at Nautilus and best meal overall was at an Italian bistro on main street called Delvino's. Weather kept us from additional outside activities in Belfast so we drove to NP a few times. I would definitely return to this private cabin in Belfast, Jon was very accommodating and was very responsive.
