Riverfront cottage located on the St. Lawrence River in Cape Vincent NY.

RENOVATED in late 2025 and early 2026...ready for the 2026 season. the Main Bedroom and Bathroom doubled in size. Washer/Dryer added in the bathroom. Covered porch added. Pictures to follow in the Spring!!!!

Quaint riverfront cottage has 2 bedrooms, plus a pull out futon to sleep a total of 5. Enjoy spectacular sunsets over the river on the lawn or on the covered deck with views of Carleton and Wolfe Islands. There is also a deck over the water to enjoy a drink and refreshing river breezes. Approximately 70 feet of river frontage allows for excellent swimming and fishing. The water is shallow by the shore and gradually gets deeper. The river bottom at the shore is flat bedrock (nicknamed Mermaid Rock by a previous guest) which is great for kids, easy on the feet and great for just sitting and cooling off!

Enjoy what the 1000 Islands region has to offer. The St Lawrence River is known for some of the best freshwater fishing in the United States. Annual events in Cape Vincent include the French Festival and 4th of July Celebration. A quick trip down the road is Clayton which hosts the annual Wildlife and Decoy show, The New York State Food and Wine Festival , the annual Thousand Islands Boat Show, as well as antique and craft shows. You can also take a day trip to nearby Alexandria Bay for a visit to the historic Boldt Castle or Singer Castle, take a boat tour of the Island Mansions or participate in the annual Pirates weekend. Locally, a wine tasting tour is a great way to spend an afternoon. The region has numerous outstanding wineries including the Cape Winery, the 1000 Islands Winery, White Caps Winery and Coyote Moon just to name a few.

Boating on the St Lawrence river is legendary. Take the 45 minute boat ride Tibbetts Point Lighthouse in Cape Vincent where the St Lawrence River and Lake Ontario meet. Other popular boating destinations that are close by for swimming include Potter's Beach on Grindstone Island, Dodge Bay and Sand Bay on the Cape Vincent mainland (both very close by) and the bay at Picton Island. Along the way you will pass many islands and coves if you want to anchor and swim with few (if any) other boats in the area. Carleton Island is popular with boaters and is the main view from the Cottage. Visit North Bay on Carleton Island where the historic British Fort, Fort Haldimand, once stood in the late 1700's and early 1800's. You can also see the remains of the Carleton Island Villa, a remnant from the gilded age of castles here in the Thousand Islands (late 1800's-early 1900's).

The deck over the water is shared with one other adjacent cottage as are the 2 picnic tables grills ( a gas grill, a charcoal grill and 2 fire pits). If you have a larger party, you can book them both! See listing 1128364.

If it is dark when you arrive. Call host for guidance. No number on cottage. Heather was ver helpful. Loved location to Carlton island & watching ships in channel. Grew up on the Hall Compound in the Summer with my dad, Doc Hall, 4 sisters and brother. Great location for fishing and sailing. Cottage had everything necessarily including towels & linens. Bring hangers if want to keep clothes wrinkle free on provided hooks. Enjoy the deck over the water. Mermaid beach is great for wading in the shallow water and then swimming in the depth. This place is hard to beat. Have fun.

We spent six wonderful days in this charming cottage in Millen Bay, right by the water as a family of four. The sunsets are indeed fantastic and water access is easy (we had three kayaks that we could launch right from the property). Snorkeling with the kids right from the waterfront at the property allowed us to see river bass protecting their eggs and fry. A little deck right at the water was great for enjoying the sunsets and witnessing river life. Lots to do in the Thousand Islands area beyond just the few days that we had available. To Clayton and Cape Vincent it’s just about 10min by car; Alexandria Bay, Cape Vincent and Sackets Harbor are less than 30min drive. We could easily have spent a few more weeks. The hosts Dave and Heather were super-welcoming and very attentive to our needs; they even invited us to watch a fantastic July 4th fireworks display in Millen Bay together. Unforgettable vacation for our whole family!

Have stayed in many Vrbos, and th one of the best. This cottage is so bright & welcoming, we felt right at home . From comfortable furnishings to a well stocked kitchen, we had everything we needed for a weeks stay! The views are outstanding, the neighbors are friendly & our host, David, was exceptional! Can't wait to return!

The owners greeted us on arrival, very cordial, friendly, gave us an overview of our rental. Towards the evening we were seated by the river enjoying the sunset when the owner returned with some of his guests that he brought to enjoy the amazing sunset. Two other evenings other people walked thru the property to look at the sunset, saying that the owner said it was OK. Where was the privacy that we thought we would have? The description of the cottage gave us the impression that our cottage was right on the river within a few steps. It did not say and did not show photos that our cottage was actually behind another cottage which was directly on the river. The picture of our cottage on VRBO shows the front entrance giving the impression that it faces the river. The view of the river, the sunset is obstructed by the other cottage and its car(s) parked on the grass next to it. We had to walk past the other cottage, their renters & guests to get to the river. The one fire pit, the rusted grills, the picnic table, the outdoor seating on the tiny deck near the water all need to be shared per VRBO description. It was an uncomfortable situation for us. The cottage does not sleep 6 as stated. Two tiny bedrooms with one very soft double bed with springs felt, one daybed. Futon in living room doubles as seating & sleeping. So if futon is used for sleeping, then there is no seating at all to watch TV. The cabin overall was clean with the basics, but no real oven, no washer/dryer.

We thought we would be walking from our cottage directly onto a fishing pier ---- instead we had to walk past another cottage and people only to discover we couldn't fish there ---Only 3 to 10 inches depth of water at pier . Both grills were rusted beyond use . But All In All , We Had A GREAT Vacation

We enjoyed the cottage very much. Location near the river is beautiful with amazing sunsets. Cottage accommodated us four, 3 adults and one child comfortably. The bedrooms are small and there really isn’t any place for your clothes other than a few hooks on the wall. The cottage is well stocked and decorated very cute. We had a wonderful time.
