We enjoyed our stay. Kitchen had most things needed to cook a meal - coukd have used a cheese grater? The hottub worked well and we could soak while viewing the river - making it all worth it. Views of river were just awesome. House is very dated and bed is extremely bouncy - terrain in backyard is a bit dangerous for really young kids and elderly folks. We brought bikes but were unable to use from house - this area of NB is not pedestrian friendly. No sidewalks making it also impossible to walk into town.
Great location for eating out and tubing places. Small and quaint. Nice sitting area on river.
Had a great time with my wife we will visit again
Beautiful property and beautiful little house! My kids enjoyed the river and hot tub.
The cottage was very cute, cozy and clean. Quiet area, no worries. We had planned to go fishing but going down the steps to the river (Guadalupe) with bad knees and older folks, it's risky. I lost my balance and had the stone wall not been there I would have gone tumbling down and I went to relax and not to get injured. Families with small children should keep a very good eye on their little ones. We had issues with the TV (Spectrum) but could have been something from a storm. The host, Tom came over several times and got it to working for us. We are old school and this hi tech stuff with don't get along. LOL. Overall it was a very pleasant and quiet get away.
The setting is absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed sitting outside cooler parts of the day. The hot tub was relaxing in the evening. The house needs some TLC.
We were only there a week-end, but we had a nice time at the cottage. The owner, Tom, was very responsive to our needs, and even helped us get a fire going in the fire pit. His wife brought over extra blankets when we requested them. The view of the water is nice, but this really isn't a place for swimming. There isn't a beach or shallow area in the water. For an old fishing cabin, the place was reasonably clean and comfortable. The biggest factor affecting my 3-star review is what the listing says about sleeping. It says the cottage has 4 beds and sleeps 6 people. There is one bedroom with a double bed with a decent mattress. There is pull out couch in the living room, a single bed and trundle underneath the single in a sun room. Neither the trundle bed, nor the opened couch were adequate for sleeping. Both mattresses were thin, and offered little protection from the springs and other metal pieces in the foundation, which poked them, kept them from sleeping, and made them sore the next day. Unless the owners replace those mattresses with something much more substantial, the cottage does not comfortably sleep more than 3 people - and that's if 2 share the double bed.
We came up for the weekend for my husbands birthday. Unfortunately the weather decided that it should be cold, so we were not able to enjoy the river, but the hot tub was perfect for that. The neighborhood was quiet and had easy access to i35 for shopping and dining. We really enjoyed our stay!
House was really clean. Loved the pullout mattresses, definitely helped with the sleeping situation. And the backyard was beautiful. Overall, would definitely stay here again.
Great weekend getaway very relaxing. Saw some big fish in the river. Very nice.
Very Sweet little Cottage with beautiful views!
Love it. Hope to come back soon.
Check in was easy. Tom stopped by since he lives next door and was very nice. We enjoyed the scenic views of the river. Everything we needed was provided. The house is older, but very quaint. We took advantage of the fire pit and the hot tub on our last night. There were a couple of places in the fence that a small dog could escape, but our dogs didn’t notice. Overall, it was nice and we would stay again.
We loved staying at this property! It was the perfect getaway spot for my husband and I.
The property is a beautiful riverfront location that is within the city of New Braunfels but was peaceful, quiet and restful. With a little effort we could hear some vehicle in the distance on I35 but was just fine. The cottage is old and a little funky but was mostly comfortable for our stay
The perfect river cottage with all the essentials in a perfect location. Easy access to float the Comal or Guadalupe and nearby grocery stores and local shops. The backyard is a dream!!
This home is great for groups of 6 or less. Location is good. It’s not prime tubing location but The back yard is riverfront with easy water access and the views are amazing! The backyard set up is everything you need! Gas stations, restaurants located very close. Everything about the house worked as it should. The river water was cool and refreshing in the Texas August heat. Hot tub works great. Take a fishing pole we could see lots of them from the backyard. Great spot for smaller groups!!!
Beautiful location. Right on the river and just a few miles from all the restaurants and entertainment. My only complaint was that the house was very hot, seems the ac couldn’t keep up but the owner offered us another rental and we were very pleased. All in all it was a great visit to New Braunfels!
My family stayed over the 4th of July and had an absolute blast. The property is right on the water, so we enjoyed paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, and grilling out. Our dog loved roaming the property, too. We loved how there are two different sitting areas- one right by the water and one right by the house. Both have great views and are shaded by the beautiful tall trees. We had a great trip and look forward to returning.
The house was clean. Kitchenware was amply stocked. Outdoor views were beyond gorgeous. Patio furniture could use replacement. Chaise lounges on lower patio were missing. Overall, our stay was pleasant, we were comfortable and relaxed and close to everything. Owner was very responsive.
The bed was too small and uncomfortable. We killed several roaches. House needs deep cleaning. Old and musty
My parents visited from Boston and loved it. A cozy cabin on the river. Very country but close to everything. It was very relaxing. Tom was a great guy, too.
