Set in a secluded sunny corner, the Walled Garden Cottages are within the walls of the old Melfort Estate walled garden and approximately 500 yards from the Inner Village.

The Walled Garden has 10 “mews style” two-bedroom cottages and one two-bedroom first floor apartment with each cottage enjoying views over the beautiful gardens and overlooking Loch Melfort to the South . There are plenty of car parking spaces at the rear of the building, with car parking for visitors provided immediately outside the garden entrance. A small leisure area is situated in the centre of the building which houses a sauna and games room with table tennis, snooker and darts – there is also a small laundry, public phone and communal deep freeze.

Entrance to each cottage is at the rear of the building, through the hall which has a drying/coat storage area. Leading from the hall is the open-plan sitting room, dining area and kitchen, shower room with large walk-in shower, and the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Stairs lead to the mezzanine balcony/games, sleeping area and first floor twin bedroom.

Each cottage has its own private patio opening from the dining area, and onto the communal gardens.

We were very happy with our accommodation. Bad luck that the restaurant was closed but we made good use of the gorgeous old Pub just down the road. Pool was great as were other facilities.

Perfect location, very calm. The house was very comfortable, with plenty of space. Unfortunately, we did not have the chance to test the Shower of Herring Restaurant. We wish we could have stayed longer.

What a lovely place, staff, accommodation all exceptional. Very relaxing time we had but there is plenty to do. Walks, swimming, games room, tennis, putting (when the weather picks up). Lovely meals at the Shower of Herring. Can’t really go wrong.. We will definitely return.

i enjoyed taking my doggie human parents to a venue that I had good walks and loved by the staff!! Though not many places to go and see at this time of year but the Crinan canal was good for us along with super views of the islands. Kilmartin Museum and Cafe was excellent for my humans.

Visited for the first time and exceeded our expectations. We were in walled garden but resort offers a very varied selection of accomodation to suit all tastes. Reception staff were outstandingly friendly and helpful. This was the most dog friendly resort we have visited in particular the pooch welcome pack and access to all of the resort's facilities. We very much hope to visit again in the future and will certainly recommend to our friends and family.

Another quiet relaxing break in a beautiful area of Scotland, Mefort village development is a wonderfully run and well kept little village, Staff are extremely efficient and helpful and went out their way to help us any time we needed them.

This was my second week at using melfort village but my first week as u couldn’t make the first week so gave it to family members however this time I did use it , the cottage was lovely but was very cold as out fire did not work it was electric , these things happen but we had been given plug in radiators we where in a big cottage but was freezing could not heat it up , raised the issue at reception to the English worker , she had me moved to another cottage there and then and asked everyday if we warm and if we needed anything she treated me like royalty she went above and exceeded my expectations an amazing lady also we went to the folk night. Where she also sang her and her partner the band where amazing only complaint is that the band was only on once a week I think they shoikfb have more music nights sadly I had to leave early as my father got killed

Our stay was made all the more enjoyable by friendly staff at reception and at the pool. The Monday night music was a bonus.

Great facilities and the site is beautiful. They even provided a portable gas stove incase of a power cut due to stormy weather when we were there. Lots of activities on site for children. Only problem was the lack of a phone signal (we are with Virgin), but this is out with the control of the facility.
