The house was freezing when we checked in therefore cold for the rest of the night and stay because of insufficient heating and poor condition of the house. The main bedroom door doesn’t shut therefore you have to push a suitcase against it to stop it from opening The condition of the house is extremely poor. There are drafts and gaps in the joinery where you can see outside. This is unacceptable especially when staying in Winter when it is minus 5 degrees. The bathroom heater broke during our stay. The bathroom window latch was broken. With no heated towel rails our towels did not dry as it is such a cold rundown room. Main heat pump kept on failing and switching off therefore dropping temperature of the house immediately due to poor insulation. We didn’t take our ski jackets off as it was too cold. There is mould on bedroom window sills Due to the house being so cold, house keeping dropped up two more small oil heaters during our stay. This didn’t make any difference and we checked out early and booked a new place to stay the property manager recommended to us. There were other issues also and sub standard conditions that shouldn’t be accepted. Curtains do not come together properly when drawn. We had to use a peg to keep closed. The Roman curtains in bedroom above kitchen are broken and did not work. The fireplace in the courtyard was smashed and broken. Also, check in is stated as 3pm. The house was not ready until after 4pm. By the time we got there it was 4.30pm and I saw there were only 2 bedrooms made up despite booking for 3 adults. I had to phone house keeping to come back and make up the 3rd bedroom. I commented to her on how cold the house was. The floors were also sticky which the housekeeper said was due to a party that was held there. She would come back during our stay and clean them again. She didn’t that I’m aware of as the floors remained sticky throughout our stay. Empty beer bottles were still in the courtyard when we arrived from said party. Sticky alcohol was also left on the table legs and glass windows as well as glass shards from broken bottles on the floor. 1 night refund from owner was given and 1 night compensation from Bachcare for the terrible stay but combined this only covered the night that I had to pay for to stay elsewhere. Do yourself a favour and book elsewhere.
