Love the location, amenities and the host!
Everything was good. The only thing I could say (and I not complaining) check the batteries in the remotes to make sure they are not dead. We just switched them out from one to the other ??
We stayed here for the first time after our friends stayed last year!
All was good and clean etc. I would just say the shower curtain rings on both showers sucked, fancy not functional. They continuous fell off making shower time annoying. And check in email wasn't received until late the night before making it a little stressful that it might be cancelled. The beds were not comfortable at all. Luckily, I had read that in a previous review and brough an air mattress. The main bedroom is big enough to have one in there so that was good. Other than that, all was great!
The bed in the master bedroom is past its expiration date. It is ripped on the bottom side of the springs. You can see it when you stand at the end of the bed. Then when you sit on the bed, the mattress goes completely flat. Do not expect to get a good night's sleep on this bed. We were in such pain in our back and hips from the bed. There were old pieces of food under the dining room table and along the edges of the kitchen floor. The towels in the washing machine had soured so badly that we could smell them throughout the house. Also, they want you to take the garbage out, but they do not provide you with any garage bags, so prepare yourself to bring bags. This house has a lot of potential if they do minor updates and update the wicker furniture. Also, they have the ac programmed so that it cannot go below 72 degrees. This about ruined my wedding cake, and when you have a house full of people trying to do hair and makeup for a wedding, this makes for a very hot day. It was miserably hot, and everyone was left with stuffy noses from the heat inside of the home. We were getting married in the chapel next door, otherwise we would had not stayed in this home after 5 minutes of being inside. Everyone else had much better places to stay at cheaper prices too. It was such a disappointment to see what the inside of this home offered.
This was the first time we had been to this part of Florida. The Steinhatchee Landing was a great place to stay. The dog park was awesome! We enjoyed being able to walk around and sitting in the rockers! Plenty of good places to eat. The only thing is that it is a drive to do anything! The actual unit was outdated and had a few issues. Whenever we called they responded quickly.
My family spent one week in that house in Steinhatchee landing resort. Although the cottage was large enough for two adults and a child, several issues were problematic: 1. The internet speed is catastrophic and prevents the normal use of a laptop for internet and email. This information was not provided in the description of the cottage. 2. There was no description how to use the television that as we figured out, requires al reset each time we were using it. 3. The quality of the furnitures and beds is not good. For the cost of the rent, we could expect a better quality of chairs and beds. 4. there is mold visible on the faucet of the kitchen despite being charged for the cleaning of the place. Although we like Steinhatchee, we would not return to this rental for the reasons mentioned above. We have to say that the property manager has been very helpful each time we contacted us.
It was an excellent place to stay. We loved the dock, the petting area, the swings, the tennis court and dog park. We visited nearby Fanning Springs for a swim and a walk on the trail by Shawnee River.
This cottage was perfect for our scalloping trip with friends. The home was clean, accommodating, and cozy. The grounds were beautiful and the community was so cute. The kids loved walking around, checking things out, and petting the animals. Wish we could have started longer and enjoyed more.
