A pleasant country cottage situated in lovely grounds with plenty of walking on the doorstep. Very nice, helpful owners and a welcome package included. The only downside was the bathroom which was only provided with a bath and a handshower - not really adequate for elderly people. It was a good area to reach many interesting historic houses and gardens. Altogether, a pleasant stay.

Fantastic hosts, beautiful cottage, great facilities, incredible location, the list goes on…. We have been coming back to this truly magical place for years and would have no hesitation in recommending it highly!

An interesting cottage in a good location with welcoming hosts. For us, the 4 large friendly dogs were problematic, especially when we were seeking to drive in and out the large gates which we had to open and close.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Vane Cottage which we booked primarily for our visit to the Love Supreme festival at Glynde Place. We were impressed with how well equipped the kitchen was with lots of utensils, pots, pans etc. The garden is lovely and would be a great space for children to play. The only negative is the lack of a shower. We wondered if we should worry about there being no picture of the bathroom and so it proved. The description of bathroom with shower attachment over the bath turned out to be a bath/shower mixer tap on the bath but with no shower screen or curtain. This might be useful for washing one's hair but it would not be possible to take a shower without drenching the bathroom, which certainly doesn't appear to be intended to be a wet room. So the description of shower attachment over the bath seems a little disingenuous. We were grateful for the excellent welcome pack of bread, milk, tea, coffee, bacon, eggs, cheese, wine and more, which was well beyond that which one might expect.

Outstanding stay as always. We have been returning for more than 2 decades, so the facts speak for themselves! The hospitality is incredible and every possible need has been anticipated and catered for. Ideally located for numerous excursions, but sufficiently remote to engender a deep sense of relaxation, it provides the best of both worlds. We cannot recommend more highly!
