Island rentals are often a logistical challenge but the owner could not have made things easier. Very helpful and flexible. Location is great!
Myself and 15 other people spent last weekend here, and we absolutely loved it!! Not only is the house gorgeous, but it's expansive and caters to having a great time! It has something for everyone, aside from its updated interior, it has scenic views, 3 docks, a cove to swim in, kayaks, a row boat, a camp fire, a game room, and an outdoor living space. Both the owner and the boat driver were courteous and wonderful to work with, eager to help and answer questions in a prompt manner. I sincerely hope to make this a yearly destination.
My friends and I rented this property for a reunion the weekend before Memorial Day and I have to say that we had an amazing time. The house itself is beautiful, new, spacious, and comfortable, while the property is even more so. The owner was a pleasure to work with and he answered all of our questions and concerns completely. Because the property is on an island it is naturally secluded and peaceful. Our trip across the lake to the island was short and enjoyable and the gentleman who served as our captain was polite and helpful (even when we were late arriving at the pickup!) We were on the property early in the spring (it was a cold spring) so the foliage wasn't in full bloom so we didn't see the island in its full beauty, but I can only imagine that it would be even better during peak season. I'm already planning on holding another get-together again next year and I can't wait to come back. If you love fun, relaxation, seclusion, water, and comfort then this is the place for you. The only caveat I'll mention is that if you don't have a boat then you'll be trapped on the island for the duration--certainly not a bad thing, but it is an island after all.
This was a memorable vacation, and well worth the expense. This is a very special, unique property. You've seen the pictures: the house is a work of rustic art, but beautifully functional. It was the heatwave of July 2013, and all my Boston friends were jealous. The water was glorious and 15 steps from the porch which caught the breezes of the peninsula. The guesthouse provided just the right degree of separation for teenagers. The island setting was peaceful but just a 4 minute boat ride to a mainland parking lot, so we never felt trapped. We had some beautiful, dramatic thunderstorms roll in; a cool thing to watch from the porch. Neither adults nor teenagers, nor 6 year old ever felt bored, yet we all returned refreshed. The owners were gracious and trusting. Upon departure, I forgot some paddles that belonged to the Marina, and Steve immediately gave me a boat lift back to recover them. This trip was a privilege and pleasure. Thank You Bev, Jim, and Steve.
We found the rental online and were intriguid by the photos. We contacted the owners and they directed us to a website with many detailed photos of the property. It was everything the photos showed and more and was very well maintained. The property is unique and quite beautiful and is accessed by boat within a small private inlet shared with one other property. The owners were very friendly and helpful with us getting set up the first day and following up with us after we left. All of the members of our family that were able to make it, about 20 people, had a place to sleep. There was plenty of kayaking, swimming, and boating during the day. We listened to the loons and frogs during the evening, and it was nice and quiet during the night. Plenty of private places to read and play games. We saw a bald eagle drop down in front of the inlet to the house and carry off a large fish one afternoon as we were swimming. There were a few ducks and ducklings that we saw daily as they swam by. My father took the grandkids to the dock to fish in the mornings and evenings. We all had a wonderful time and we'll never forget this trip. Our family lived nearby when we were growing up and we have great memories of Lake Winnipesaukee when we visited Ellecoya State Park and climbed Mount Major. The lake is absolutely gorgeous with lots of islands and wide open areas on the water, and it is surrounded by mountains. This trip reinforced everything we love about the area and we definately plan on visiting again. I strongly reccomend this vacation rental.
The most beautiful house on Lake Winnipesaukee that I have ever stayed in. The house was gorgeous and comfortable for our large family vacation. The island location was great for spending quality family time . My kids loved using the kayaks , swimming all day and relaxing in the bunk house area with the huge tv at night. I loved the great room area in the main house the fire place really set this house apart. The owners were very helpful and accommodating.I would definitely recommend this place.
