Cadillac, Michigan
Sunnyside Cottage is nestled between two lakes, on a quiet tree-lined street with peak-a-boo views of both Lake Cadillac and Lake Mitchell.
The cottage itself is a classic brick home with simple lines that reminds one of a Hansel and Gretel-style dwelling. Although it appears small from the outside, there is a grand use of space inside.
From the front of the house, you can hear constant activity on the surrounding lakes, it's like keeping a radio on low volume that ensures peaceful, relaxation.
When you enter the front door, you are immediately welcomed by a large living room with beautiful hardwood floors and a wood burning stove. A snug and cushy sofa sits in the center of the room where stories are shared that result in boisterous laughter. A large, picture window overlooks the back yard, giving you a sense of peace and tranquility.
The kitchen is cozy, with open shelves for ease of use and convenience as we are not meant to spend our days cooking but rather relishing the time with family and friends.
This simple setting offers 3 bedrooms, which comfortably sleeps 8 - 10, with 2 full, clean baths.
Bed linens and towels are provided. If needed, a laundromat is also located within the next block, conveniently located next to a wonderful, local ice cream shop.

In summary, this cottage celebrates sensibility, one that whispers "stop" and remember what's important! This life is not about status, possessions or glamour; it's about nature, simplicity, family and friends - things that really matter.
We have stayed at this home several times. It is close to Caberfae and restaurants. We had an issue with the power going off in the kitchen this time and the issue was rectified immediately.
Very well maintained good location had a great time would definitely come back
House is an older home but nice great location if you don’t want to be on the lake
We had a wonderful time at this place. Loved having games to place and the comfort of the entire place. Only down side was few wine glasses and not a lot of baking utensils but we made do with what we had. Loved the local pizza place and the beach!
This was a nice spacious property. Accommodating 6 guys easily. Good location and a secluded back yard which we barbecued and had nice bonfires to relax.
Great place to stay!
Such a cozy, charming brick house with a beautiful backyard. House was very clean and check in process could not have been easier. Great location. Close to everything Cadillac has to offer.
We had a great time and we loved to living room and dining room areas and over all great stay we thank you host for being so great and helpful when we had a small issue! Would recommend ?
Great house with plenty of room for everyone. Thank you opening up your house to us.
Two thumbs way up
This is the third time we’ve rented this property. Our rental has been in the winter and the location is great for ski weekend to Caberfae. Super cute home and reasonably priced. It would be helpful to have a dishwasher, especially with a group. Also, the upstairs bathroom does not have a place to set out ones toiletries. There is room for a small cabinet in there.
It’s cozy and clean. We like that’s it’s close to convenience stores, close to the highway but not that close that you hear the noises from cars passing by. I hope curtains/blinds will be installed in the rooms upstairs to offer privacy. The owner is very attentive to our needs and quick in replying. I like the easy check in and check out.
We LOVED using the fireplace, SO COZY! Comfortably slept 7 adults. Nice TV and selection of board games. We used the kitchen extensively. Dishwasher is out of commission, but plenty of supplies to do dishes by hand. Thanks! Great stay!
We found this rental to be just right for our Fall Color Tour. The cottage is clean, neat and sprinkled with just enough surprises in decorating to make it very quaint and cozy! We loved the big picture window looking out the back and the cozy wraps under the coffee table along with the adorable dog pillow! Our only problem was trying to figure out the TV. They are not subscribed to regular TV but have access to apps. My husband and I are in our 70's and afraid technology is not one of our strong suits! LOL! However, we found everything we needed. Yes the dishwasher was broken, but if you know ahead of time that was a very minor thing. Do be careful about running the coffee pot, toaster and microwave all at once. We blew a fuse, but Chris answered our call promptly. We hope to rent this darling cottage again next year.
Easy in and out
Great place to stay and was very clean! Thanks, Jen & Chris
This property is close to everything. Seriously it is a must stay. This home is very roomy and with a surprise bonus the bathroom on the main level is disability access. Our group would definitely stay again.
The pictures were nothing like the property. The dishwasher was broke, no washer and dryer and one crummy towel per person. The bathrooms are original and kitchen is original for a 1950 house. The pots and pans and cookie sheets are awful. There are no curtains on the upstairs bedroom windows so you have to put blankets and pillows in the windows to block the lights from next door real estate office shining in your eyes. We are disappointed in VRBO for allowing this property on their web page. We use VRBO a lot and expect certain standards. This was priced for a 4 star property and was a 1 at best. To make matters worse VRBO did NOTHING. They blamed us for not calling them the day we checked in which was impossible since we came to golf and left as soon as we got there for our tee time.
My friends and I rented, this cute little cottage for our annual long girls weekend trip. We loved how we just had to cross over M-55 and could walk over to Lk Mitchell, behind the main drag bldgs... and not having to cross busy M115 . It was a very hot and humid weekend, so we loved that we were able to have an all day beach day Saturday before the rain moved in. There's a cute little ice cream and coffee shop on the corner we frequented as well. Our favorite spot of the house was the back sunroof. We spent the majority of our time back there hanging out and relaxing. The only small downside, was that only one of the upstairs rooms had an air conditioning unit. It was a high of 90 most of the weekend, so at night it was extremely hot and humid. We tried closing off the bathroom door and door over the stairs to see if,it would help push the cool air over to the other room to no avail. Other than that small inconvenience, the house was a perfect setup for a nice relaxing grls get away weekend. We would definitely consider renting it again sometime.
close to all of the attractions, loved the space
We had a little girls getaway weekend. The house had plenty of sleeping arrangements, beds were decent and clean. The pictures/furniture on the listing aren’t up to date, but that didn’t affect us. We used the bonfire pit, but heard very loud rustling in the woods (bear?!?).. it was nice to have it though. There wasn’t a trash bag so we had to supply our own. Not a huge deal. Walking distance to beach and coffee shop. Overall it worked for our group!! :)
This cottage is well kept and provides a lot of space for entertaining. Most cottages tell you it sleeps a certain number but doesn’t provide enough living space to accommodate that many people. That is not the case here. Will definitely rent again.
It started with a phone call and ended up online. Fast and eady and accurate.
Enjoyed the location of Sunnyside cottage. Within walking distance of laundry, coffee shop and ice cream shop. Short walks to both Lake Cadillac and Lake Mitchell State Park. Drives to Sleeping Bear and Lake Traverse were gorgeous and full of greenery and hills. Definitely a great location and house included everything needed for a comfortable stay.
