This highly energy-efficient home was beautifully designed by local artist and house designer, Frank Lapointe, and completed in 2016 by an award-winning construction crew from Sweet Lumber Ltd.. With its high ceilings and timber frame interior it stands out as a unique coastal home that melds contemporary open design with traditional East Coast saltbox architecture. The home’s great room provides plenty of space - for simply lounging, or entertaining in front of the Norwegian gas fireplace, or enjoying the view from the dining room table for six, or cooking up a storm in the fully-equipped gourmet kitchen. The upper hall entertainment alcove, as well as the great room, each sport a large flatscreen TV with satellite internet and cable service. Free high-speed (250+ Mbps) WIFI internet service is available throughout the home. The two upper bedrooms, which boast floor-to-ceiling view windows and vaulted ceilings, share a full bathroom with double-sink vanity. The master bedroom on the main floor has its own ensuite bathroom. Outside entertaining may be done on the southwest deck, with an adjacent gas grill BBQ for outdoor cooking.

Tuckamore (def.): a strong wind-pruned evergreen found on the top of coastal hills in Newfoundland. Their growth exhibits the distinct character of leaning away from the ocean’s prevailing winds to thrive where others perish.

We had an awesome stay at Tuckamore. The sweeping views of the picturesque town of Trinity East and the sun setting over the ocean was breathtaking. The home was beautiful and well equipped for our needs. The hosts were gracious and always quick to respond to us, even going out of their way to warn us of a coming storm and provide us with an extra night to ensure our safety. Outstanding hospitality and beauty, we can’t say enough to recommend this lovely home.

What a lovely house and great spot. We wish we could have stayed longer. Amazing views and great proximity to the Skerwink trail. Tuckamore had everything our family of four could have asked for.

Staying at Tuckamore was perfect for our family of 5 and for our exploration of the Bonavista peninsula. We hiked the nearby Skerwink Trail and visited other fabulous trails and sites like the Puffin nests. Also enjoyed the live musicians at the nearby Port Rexton Brewery. The hosts were very helpful in setting out information in a manual.

This home is absolutely amazing, both inside and out. It's a traditional saltbox style home, but built recently, and is exceptionally modern, bright, and clean. We loved everything about it, from the amazing view/location, comfortable bedrooms, outstanding common space, and well-equipped kitchen. Could not find fault with anything, and would most definitely stay again. If you stay, make time for the Skerwink Trail, which is right at your doorstep. To the owners -- thank you for sharing this incredible house.

The house is stylish and well equipped. The owners gave us great advice about the area and were very responsive. Trinity East is a beautiful spot but being steps away from the Skerwink trail was magical. We did the trail twice in our short stay but wish we’d done it once or twice more.

Wonderful house, beautifully situated and close to so many places we wanted to go. House has everything you could need to make yourselves at home. And it’s a very short walk to the beginning of one of the most beautiful trails ever.

My friends and I stayed at Tuckamore for a week. I cannot imagine a home that could have suited our needs more. Beautiful views. Convenient to all of our activities, including hiking, historical walking tours, cod jigging and a drive to Elliston to see the puffins. Had amazing meals at nearby Fishers’ Loft and Twine Loft. But more importantly, because everyone in our group consider themselves home “chefs”, we also had amazing meals at home and found everything we needed in the well-stocked kitchen. I would highly recommend Tuckamore to anyone interested in visiting Newfoundland.

Great to be back in Trinity East for a few days. We love staying at Tuckamore - just such a special place. We love the location, the views, the art, the books, and the very well-stocked kitchen. On our short stay we hiked Fox Island, had a lovely meal at Twine Loft, & went to Elliston & Bonavista where we saw lots of whales & puffins. Hope to return next year for a longer stay! It’s the perfect place.
