Pentye is a converted former boat store/ shed. The cottage is tucked in beside the wall of an old Lime Kiln, set on the banks of the river Lerryn near Fowey. There are direct river views from the dining table and kitchen and the upstairs bedroom. There is also a small balcony with table and chairs for sitting out and watching the tide ebb and flow and good evening sun. Great for morning coffee, early evening drink or a meal. It is ideal for artists, writers, bird watchers, kayakers, paddleboarders and last but not least day dreamers .

You can kayak or paddle board straight from the lawn across the road at high tide. Beautiful riverside, woodland walks straight from the door. The ancient woodland just along from the house was said to be the inspiration for Kenneth Grahame's book 'Wind in the Willows'.
Good coastal walks also a short distance away.

A perfect escape for 1 or 2 people, completely self contained, impeccably clean and cosy.

Comfortable living space with comfy sofa, chair, t.v and kitchen area with cosy chairs overlooking the river. Small cloakroom and wet room on ground floor. Under floor heating.
Mezzanine bedroom with king size bed, white bed linen and towels all provided.
Nespresso coffee machine, Internet t.v. Echo Dot for radio/ music and wif fi also included.

Parking is available right outside the cottage, there are 7 steps up to the front door. There is also free parking available in the village car park or outside the village hall approx 50 metres away for when the tide is very high !

You can hire kayaks from Golant or bring your own paddle boards, kayaks or inflatable boat and paddle from just below the house to St Winnow, Golant, Fowey or Lostwithiel. We do have an alleyway attached to the cottage where you can secure kayaks, paddles boards, bikes etc.

Alternatively Fowey is about 15 mins by car via the Boddinick ferry. There is a very good local shop within a few steps of the house, which sells wine, beer, take away pasties and a wide range of groceries, so no need to take the car out or leave if you don't want to.

There is also a pub in Lerryn again a few steps away called The Ship Inn.The ancient town of Lostwithiel is 3 miles away which has lots of inspiring antique shops, cafes, pubs and a small Co-op supermarket. The Duchy Nursery is just outside Lostwithiel with an excellent range of plants and a really well worth visiting cafe. The Eden Project is only 8 miles, The National Trust's Lanhydrock House and the fishing villages of Fowey, Looe and Polperro are a short drive. Local beaches and coves ideal for swimming approx 20 minutes drive. Within an hour you can reach the vast north coast surfing beaches or the Tate Gallery in St Ives.

There are many good food places to eat out in Cornwall from the nearby Sam's on the Beach at Polkerris to a bit further afield for Nathan Outlaw's in Rock or The Hidden Hut at Portscatho.
There are many quiet spots to just pack up a picnic and take a good book to read and enjoy a bit of solitude if that's your thing too ....

We can consider short breaks of 3 nights between November and April. Please enquire.

Everything ran smoothly, from directions, wifi, check in, attention to detail, beautiful and unique place with lovely crockery, good quality linens, great art, special little collection of books, and a wonderfully thoughtful complimentary bottle of excellent French wine, and olives.

Very quiet location, excellent views to the river. Great walks in the woods nearby and along the river. Everybody very friendly in Lerryn. Only drawback and I see from other reviews is the excedingly small wetroom. Once you have showered everything ends up getting wet. Perhaps the wetroom could have been bigger especially since there is some cupboard space which could have been integrated into the room.

A beautiful property in a stunning location by the river. There is lots to see and do locally. I was a solo traveller and felt perfectly safe the entire time. Everyone was friendly at the local shop and pub The property was clean ans Michele was easy ti communicate with as well as being helpful, supportive and friendly. I’d thoroughly recommend.

This property really is all about the location, which cannot be faulted. Extremely charming, cosy little cottage right on the water/mud banks. With updates could be 5*, but there is room for improvement and property listing would benefit from an update. Not shown in listing is the 'shower room' which is reminiscient of a school changing room and remains damp all day. Can understandfrom owner's perspective why it's not pictured but would probably help to manage expectations if it was. This property should not be advertised as dog friendly - don't bother bringing a dog, not worth the hassle. Listing also specifies garden, BBQ grill, etc. These are not true. Prior to stay, I contacted the owner to ask if the Hot Tub in the listing was accurate - it wasn't and has now been deleted. As another guest mentioned, cleanliness was not up to usual standards. Unfortunately we had to clean kitchen, cutlery and utensils before use. Soft furnishings could do with an update. Sheepskin rug stained, etc. To add insult to injury over the cleanliness of the property, our stay was tainted by being given 2 additional charges on checkout. Ironically, one relating to cleanliness, the other one to our small, well behaved (less than 10kg as stipulated!) therapy dog. I am sure owner will reply with her side of the story, but unfortunately this really left us with a sour taste about our whole experience here. As a long term holiday rental user I have never had such an experience before.

Lovely accommodation in beautiful Lerryn. The cottage is small but was plenty big enough for 2 adults and our dog. We enjoyed walking around Lerryn and driving around the area. We had good weather. We kept an eye out on the high tide, and we enjoyed watching all the wildlife on the river. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We loved our stay at Pentye. The property has been beautifully converted into a very comfortable little house. We knew Lerryn from a previous visit many years ago so were delighted to find accommodation right next to the river. We spent many happy hours watching the tide & the birds and loved our riverside walks. It's a very special place and the village itself is a gem. Great location for exploring inland as well the south coast of Cornwall. Thanks to Michele for letting us stay in her delightful holiday home :)

A perfect property for two persons wanting to relax in a peaceful environment with plenty of local walking options, and a great view of the river from the breakfast area and outdoor terrace. You can waste hours just sitting and watching the ebb and flow of the tide! Great food at the local pub which is about 30 seconds walk away!

There is much to like in this small, nicely designed* and furnished space with a comfortable bed, lovely view and pleasant owner. Sadly, and despite the overwhelming smell of bleach on arrival, housekeeping attention is required to kitchen drawers and contents, dirty windows, dust-encrusted pendant lights, etc. *with the exception of the wet room/cupboard - cramped and always wet. Beware! Live music in pub garden directly behind property. Tranquil Lerryn was jumping last Friday evening.
