Goat House Farm is a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational farm. All profits go toward supporting the mission of the farm, specifically our youth programming.

Come and de-stress by snuggling our goats. These bouncing bundles of joy are guaranteed to make you smile! We also have chickens, peacocks, and a pig. We are near Tallahassee but in a rural area, down a bumpy dirt road, but we promise the trip is worth it. Kayaking and hiking right off the property, plus beautiful sunsets on the lake.r>
Make yourself at home in our unique tiny cottage with kitchenette, private bath with shower, and heat/AC. Luxury queen size bed. We also have a queen tatami mattress for extra guests.

Kitchenette is stocked with standard cooking supplies and fruit is available in season. You can also pre-order fresh biscuits and honey butter for breakfast. TV, toaster oven, french press, and refrigerator are in the unit, along with kitchen essentials. There is a microwave in the common area. We also have a small outdoor kitchen area with grill, stove, utensils, basic cooking supplies (oil, salt, pepper, condiments),and fire pit

Note, there are no windows in the cottage. It was built originally as a storm shelter! You will sleep really well with the thick walls and no city lights! The private entryway does have windows that let some light into the room.

Wifi, laundry, and smart/cable TV.

Private and group goat yoga classes may be available during your stay, just ask us ahead of time!

*****Unless you re a return guest, you must arrive before 7pm.*******
Remember, there is an hour time difference if coming from the west. Late arrivals interfere with our milking routine and we cannot stop milking to show you around. Farm folks also hit the hay pretty early! Please do not book and then tell us you will be arriving late. Thank you.

Feel free to message if you have questions! The herd looks forward to meeting you!!

Additional rules
Visiting the Farm
Our daily schedule revolves around your arrival. Please let us know when you have an ETA so we can be sure someone is here to greet you.
1. NUMBER ONE: Be respectful to the animals. They are always a priority here. Use caution around the goats. While they are friendly and we’ve never had a problem, they are horned and can be dangerous. Any abuse toward the animals, physical or verbal, will terminate your stay immediately.
2. Children are not allowed in the pasture or chicken coops without adult supervision.
3. Please use chemical products minimally. We are an organic farm and what you use eventually goes into the soil and the lake.
4. Keep all trash in a closed container. The wild critters will find it and make a mess. All recycling, with the exception of styrofoam should go in the green recycling can. Please do recycle. The well water is double filtered and perfectly safe to drink, so bottled water isn't necessary.
5. Do not litter on the farm, in fact if you happen to find any garbage please help us out and pick it up so the animals don’t eat it! Please dispose of all your trash in the correct bins when you checkout.
6. The refrigerator in the common room is a community fridge for campers and workcampers. Feel free to leave your food there when you check out and not in the cottage fridge.
7. The gates to the pasture should ALWAYS be latched and looped. If one goat sees it open, he or she will call everyone else and they will make for the woods!
8. We strive for an environmentally sustainable lifestyle. Try to keep electric consumption in mind, and turn off anything not in use. Turn all lights and AC off when you check out.
9. Do not feed any of the animals meat products, chocolate, raw beans, avocado seeds, or anything you wouldn't eat yourself (moldy bread, spoiled food, etc). Do not feed them around the pig. He gets food aggressive.
10. Campfires must never be left unattended.
11. DO NOT speed down the driveway. Sometimes kids get out and often chickens are hanging out along the way.
12. Dogs are not allowed in the pasture. NO EXCEPTIONS. EVER. Dogs must be dog friendly. We have a livestock guardian that roams the property and loves other dogs. Please clean up after your dogs.
13. No smoking in barn, coops, manger, nursery, pasture, cottage, or in our tents.
14. If you have any issues at all, please let us know and we will make it right. Negative reviews are particularly difficult for hosts to recover from! We pride ourselves on offering a unique and comfortable camping experience and want you to be happy!
15. All tips go to our volunteer workcampers!

Upon check out please take out trash and turn off all lights, ac, or heat. That is all. No chore list!

Melissa was a wonderful host. Her farm was a lot of fun. The goats were entertaining, and Cam, her dog, was a sweetheart. The cottage had everything we needed. It was very clean. The biggest challenge was the drive in. We had two different rain storms that made the dirt roads more challenging, but we were able to navigate them without any real trouble. We wished we had more time to hike around the lake. We will save it for another time!

We were looking for a rest stop halfway between home and our destination so I found this adorable listing for a great price. Please note: follow your GPS it will seem like you are completely lost but you're not. It will get you there just look for the sign. Once you arrive, park and enter the gate to get to your cabin. It was dark and I'm in a wheelchair so my hubby had to pull me backwards but we made it just fine. It was really cold but the heater provided made it nice and toasty. The cabin is so cute and it feels like you are in the mountains. Go to bed super early because the roosters start crowning around 3 am lol! We woke up and had the buttermilk biscuits and goat milk fudge all were super delicious and so fresh. Melissa was very nice and accommodating. We hope to visit again soon and join in on the goat yoga!

It was very clean on the inside the lady was lovely but, be prepared to stay at an actual farm. If you’re not ready to be in a farm environment this place isn’t for you. The goats were great and very sweet…Toby the farm dog was too cute!!! We enjoyed our stay

The place was just as advertised, a cute little cottage on a goat farm. We really enjoyed Melissa's fresh warm biscuits delivered to our door. The location was close enough to Tallahassee for us to enjoy the FSU win over Alabama 31-17. Go Noles!

This was a perfect stay for a man who was living rural remote for years before re-entering the big city life. Quiet, calm, Melissa is clear and communicative and prepares the place very clean and well inside. Peaceful sleep. The goats were hilarious.

We had great fun staying in the storm shelter, which was very quiet so you could sleep well and then playing with all the baby goats cats and Toby the dog. Chocolate chip sourdough cookies were delicious and warm out of the oven.

We really enjoyed our stay at Goat House Farm. The tiny cabin is small but has everything you might need. We had our teenage daughter with us so it was a little cramped however perfect for a couple. The location is approx 30 mins from Tallahassee but it's an easy drive into the city. This is a working small farm so there are goats, dogs, cats and chickens on the property - which we loved. Melissa was a great host and we were able to reach her very easily when needed.

Well appointed small cabin as described. We were impressed with the dedication Melissa, the owner, has to her goats and all her animals; and her willingness to share her knowledge and her passion for her goats. And we cannot not mention Toby, her incredible dog, I believe a white possibly Newfoundland, who greeted us so graciously in the morning.

Melissa was a wonderful host. The property is the perfect spot to get away and enjoy the nature and beauty of north Florida. We got to spend time relaxing and had great time getting to know the goats, including the new borns. Toby was a great welcome party. Sweetest dog ever.

We loved our stay at The Goat House. We spent some time with the goats and their guardian, Toby, before retiring to the cozy cabin. We found the cabin to be very comfortable and got a great night’s sleep. Thank you!
