Stayed Apr 16, 2026Cottage had a great old Nags Head vibe. Very close to beach. Had a few minor hiccups checking in but host was easy to reach and corrected the problem right away.

Stayed Mar 28, 2026Wow! This beach cottage is absolutely perfect! Literally a few steps from the wide-open beautiful beach! From the moment I arrived, I was delighted and impressed. The cottage is super comfortable and tastefully decorated - a cozy and inviting beach vibe awaits! Tina Tuna was spotless upon arrival, and there was even a welcome bag of goodies left on the table. I felt like I was at home! The communication from pre-arrival to check out was excellent - the host was so kind and friendly, and I plan on returning soon. Thank you for such a wonderful few days, this spot can’t be beat for its location and charm, and the local restaurants are wonderful! Thank you!

Stayed Apr 9, 2026Every morning, a short walk over the dune took me to the prettiest sunrises! Laid back beach cottage and area/setting. Nothing fancy but it has all you need and was very kid friendly. *BYO towels/sheets. David, the owner, was very accommodating and made our stay feel very welcoming. We will be back! Thank you so much!

Stayed Apr 3, 2026Perfect, simple beach house. Great Nags Head location. Its walkable to our favorite dinner spots, ice cream and shopping. David was so easy to work with and the other guests were friendly. Such a nice down to earth vibe. Not sure we will go back to the massive, big group housing we have done in the past. Hoping to return when we are scheduling our next OBX trip!!

Stayed Oct 14, 2025This is a tough one to write, as my wife and I have stayed at a 2FishCay Cabin multiple times over the last 10 years with countless, wonderful memories - this was the first time we left disappointed. The cleanliness has dropped off significantly. Not sure if there is a different cleaning crew from our prior trips, or if it was just poor execution - regardless, there was an overall lack of cleanliness throughout. The bathroom floor really needed a good cleaning - and if fixture updates are made (replacing a tub with a standing shower) - please update the listing accordingly. Multiple kitchen items from pans, to plates, to silverware were not washed well and needed cleaned prior to use. Please. I beg you. It is time for mattresses and box springs. Laying plywood on top a broken box spring is not a long-term (or comfortable) solution - especially when paired with a mattress that has so many miles. Noted this was the case during our stay in 2022. Thought it was a temporary fix when I saw it back then, but found it still in place this year. This is such a great location - and one of SO FEW smaller units located at the dune line with such a friendly host! My wife and I go to the OBX once a year, every fall. We have always adored 2FishCay. Seeing our favorite place to stay in Nags Head this way wasnt even angering...just extremely disappointing. I hope it only improves from here. I will keep 2Fish in mind for future vacations, but will no longer consider it our first choice.

Stayed Oct 4, 2025This is our third time to this property because we love it so much. The cottage is nestled just beyond the dunes and protected from high winds. The owner/host is very responsive and friendly and the cottage is clean and well-equipped. A huge plus is that our furry family member stays for free! We will be back again!

Stayed Jul 11, 2025The only real saving grace of this Cottage is the location which is right on the beach. I mean, it was literally a minute and 50 second walk from our door to where we sat in our chairs by the ocean. With that said, the furniture and beds are extremely uncomfortable and need replacing like yesterday. We were also not impressed with the lack of cleanliness when we walked in. The filters on the AC vents need replacing desperately, and some of the pillows on the furniture are very dirty. I found it interesting that the owner asks guests that are paying him to vacuum and sweep the floors and all the while I am wondering exactly what he pays his cleaning crew for. Needless to say we will be staying elsewhere next year and I am looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight, knowing that my back will not be hurting in the morning.

Stayed Jun 20, 2025Tina Tuna was wonderful! It brought back the nostalgia of my grandparents cottage I spent summers at in the 90s. The cottage was clean and we were provided with many of the basics we needed. The location can’t be beat! Right over the dune is the beautiful Atlantic and steps away from the Nags Head pier. We were able to walk to put putt, ice cream and a few restaurants and only a short drive to Wright Brother’s Memorial, Jockey’s Ridge, Bodie Lighthouse, and Manteo where we went to see The Lost Colony. The cottage is located beside a public beach access so the area can get a little crowded but we would just set up before 9 and get the perfect spot for the day. Tina Tuna has all you need for a week at the beach! 1000% would stay here again and recommend to a friend (I already have!)

Stayed Jun 13, 2025We had a wonderful time at this charming cottage. The peaceful atmosphere provided a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life, and its proximity to the beach was a major highlight. It was just a short walk over a small dune, and within moments, we found ourselves on the sun-kissed sand with the ocean waves gently lapping at the shore. The cottage itself had a rustic charm reminiscent of accommodations you might find in the woods. With its wooden accents, it felt similar to the camping experiences we have had here in the northern United States. The simplicity of the furnishings made the cottage feel welcoming and homey. We truly appreciated the unique character of the place; it added to our overall experience, making our stay feel authentic and memorable. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our getaway. The property owner is very responsive and kind.

Stayed May 30, 2025Our favorite place and we always stay at Tina Tuna! Love the location, amenities of cottage and cleanliness also! Just so comfortable for us! The other guests and the dogs are fun to meet and talk with, just like a small family town on one single little driveway at the beach! The owner is very friendly and just great! Thank you as always!

Stayed May 14, 2025Tina Tuna is not for everyone, but we loved it. The rustic charm of the cabin itself to the close proximity to the beach. It is well equipped and very clean. We enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend for those who do not need “McMansion” on the beach!

Stayed Oct 11, 2024To start, the keys were not in the lockbox as I was instructed they would be. The owner had to be contacted to provide after my nine hour drive. Second, the kitchen was not a place I would cook in. Everything was sticky. I’d recommend bringing an extra garbage bag if you plan on staying in this location. Just one doesn’t cut it when you want to remove your trash from your stay. The house had a smell to it that I just couldn’t get over and ils really use a good dusting. The bed in one of the bedrooms had a broken frame. We decided against sleeping in the beds as they were ehh. There were also stains on the wooden wall next to the toilet that left me wondering what they could be. While this place is oceanfront, there is a big sand pile in front of the property that goes to the roofline. The path to the beach wasn’t maintained and overgrown. This place definitely didn’t meet my expectations.

Stayed Aug 23, 2024We’ve been coming to the same cottage for nearly 20 years. It’s perfect for us and our dog. Literally feet from the beach, but protected by a dune, and you have easy access to everything. The cottage is small and straightforward, but that’s what we want. It has a charm about it that cannot be duplicated. Always clean, always maintained very well, and we have never ever had an issue. The owner, Dave, is a joy and we see him every year during our stay. Most of his business is repeat, and that should be no surprise. He is a wonderful guy and his properties reflect the care he gives. We can’t recommend this place enough. It’s part of our lives.
